Horrible. She'd woken up and everything had been horrible. With the glow, and the fairy. She'd woken up in her lonely one person apartment alone. She still hated that, that she knew there was no one close by to visit her. Still, she was slowly getting used to it. But that morning she really could have used a friendly face, and what she wouldn't give for a hug.

Selphie left her apartment to go in search of friends or, really, anybody. But there was no one around just a fairy... but then...

Then there were people at the end of the hallway. Selphie approached them, but they laughed and ran off without her. She chased them, only to notice Squall...but Zell was there too. Zell was telling Squall all about how everyone had pretty much forgotten about Selphie back home. He didn't know her. And as she rushed up to wave, to yell, both Squall and Zell just stared, like she was a woman they'd never known.

Her way into town is haunted by similar visions - friends she knows and doesn't know abandoning her, forgetting her, leaving her alone. Really alone.

It's more than Selphie can take, and she runs across the plaza, towards the lake, though she can't say why. She's just running.

Rinoa hasn't been having the best time right now, either. During the day, it wasn't so bad. The fairy was creepy, but it hadn't been doing anything. So she had ignored it and thought nothing of it.

Then night came, and the fairy dissolved into a figure of Ultimecia. That's when it got really bad.

Rinoa is currently out and about, trying to ignore the shadow of the sorceress following her around. She is strongly considering firing a Firaga spell at her when she sees someone run by her. Her attention caught, she looks up and discovers it's Selphie, running full tilt from something.

"Selphie?" Worried, Rinoa begins to run after her, Ultimecia forgotten for a moment. "Hey, Selphie! Wait!"

Selphie stopped suddenly at the sound of that voice calling her name. It was only slightly different to the way she'd been hearing her name all day - because this time, it just seemed realer, closer somehow.

She looks frightened as she stares at Rinoa, her body tense like she's waiting for something - to hear Rinoa tell her that no one cares, that she went back home and everyone had forgotten all about her...

Rinoa's steps slowed, her expression cautious but worried as she approached Selphie. Where was that fear coming from?

"Selphie...? Is everything okay?"

Just behind her, she could hear the footsteps of her own walking nightmare, but Rinoa was resolute to ignore it for right now.

[Having just newly arrived at the underwater city, Cain is taking his time exploring his new surroundings. As he walks near the lake, he collides with a girl who is running around.]

Oww... [He falls on the floor on his rear.] My Lady, are you fine?

OOC: You decide if she fell on top of him.

*Of course, it being Selphie with all her clumsiness, she runs headlong into the man. In an instant she finds herself sprawled over the top of him. With the shock she tries to get up straight away, her hands pushing at his chest as she tries to get up*

Oh! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!

Burgh wasn't sure about what was going on as he saw the young girl running. Was she alright? He could see her heading towards the lake in the distance. He felt the need to help, always when necessary.

"Are you alright?"

Selphie stopped quite suddenly, hearing a voice she didn't recognise. She turned quickly towards the stranger, looking worried, 'Me..?'

He nodded. "Yes. I thought you looked upset. Are you alright?"

'Why do you care? Why are you asking? Do you think you can just pretend to care then leave me?" She's just not sure if he's real or some haunting to tease her.

He wasn't sure what to make of this. All he could understand is that she was frightened. Poor girl.

"I am real and I'm not here to hurt you. Quite the opposite. I've just arrived in Vatheon and couldn't help notice your panic." He touched her arm. "I'm called Burgh and I am very much alive."

I know! pokemon crazy :p

Selphie flinched at the touch of her arm, and it did feel different from having those haunting images following her everywhere. Or even, abandoning her.

'...okay..." That's as much as she manages to say right now.

He didn't want to frighten her even more. "Do you want to tell me what is causing you to feel this way? Did you see a ghost?" He thought it might be possible.

Selphie stared at him, then slowly shook her head. Suddenly, she realised just how crazy she must look, and to a stranger too! She laughed then, and forced a large smile, "I'm fine! Just a trick of the light I guess..."

"A trick of light? Are you sure? I have seen ghosts in my time. Well, Ghost-type Pokemon." He nodded.

Selphie really didn't want to talk about anything weird like ghosts. So when he mentioned pokemon her face brightened, "Oh! You're from a pokemon world? My friend is from a pokemon world!"

"Yes, I'm from Unova." His face also brightened. "Oh? You know someone with Pokemon? How fascinating. What is your friend's name? Perhaps our paths have crossed."

Selphie smiled at that, just pleased for some distraction, "His name's Wallace. He's a champion."

Selphie bit her lip and shook her head, stubborn as ever, "You - you don't care! You'll leave me... Like Squall, and Irvine and..."

She stood still, eyes wide and sad, fearful of what might happen next.

"Ah, Wallace. The Champion from Hoenn. I have heard of him." He nodded and smiled. "A nice man who likes art like me."

"Yeah! That's him! But you haven't met him before?" Selphie managed a small smile, feeling better with the small talk. "He seems to like everything, and be good at everything!"

Burgh kinda "likes" Wallace ;)

"I have met him briefly at the Pokemon World Tournament. Along with his friend, Steven Stone. Meeting others from other regions is such fun. Wallace is such a wonderful, creative man. We're very alike."

Selphie smiled slightly, if a little awkward. So this guy knew about Wallace's friend Steven too. And also thought of Wallace in a very positive way, "Well then, that's good. You guys should meet up!"

[He feels the pressure on his chest as Selphie tries to get up. Being a gentleman, he does his best to help her up.]

It is fine... Do not concern yourself about it. Are you hurt?

*Selphie scrambles from him, landing undaintily beside him before jumping to her feet*

No! I'm fine! Are you okay? I'm pretty heavy!

I am quite fine, my Lady, you are as light as a feather. [He stands up as well.]
