Grocery shopping
Who: Ion and everyone!
Where: Vatheon's shopping areas
When: Evening, January 23rd
Style: Either
Status: Open!
[Ion was dead set on making himself helpful to his new roommates. He was sure that Izaya hadn't run out of food so quickly when he lived on his own, so Ion went out on aperilous journey to replenish all the food stocks in the house and then some. He looks determined as he's shopping - this is serious business.]

[In fact, he was kind of counting on it.]
Izaya seems to like fish though, so if this is how it's sold, I should get some...

They've got ones with the heads and tails cut off over here if you want.
[Sure enough, there's some precut and prepackaged fish over to the side.]
...is this your first time grocery shopping?

I didn't want to trouble anyone, so I came alone. I guess I ended up being a bother to you, though... I'm sorry. Ah, my name is Ion, by the way!
no subject
It's okay. I had nothing better to do.
[Which is, sadly, true.]
I'm Squall. Squall Leonhart. I'll help you.

[Ion pointed to the expiration date on a package.]
What does that mean?
no subject
It's an expiration date. What it does is give you an idea of how long you can keep something before eating or drinking it. You can usually eat something a few days after the date, but there's no guarantee it'll be safe to eat.

[Ion looked at what he'd already selected. Good, all the expiration dates were at least a week away on everything.]
Is there anything else I should know about the grocery store?
no subject
But just let me know if you think of something else.

[Ion smiled up at him brightly before selecting the already-cut fish. That was MUCH less distressing.]

[He's...kind of not sure if Ion can find what he needs on his own.
Especially if it requires reaching up to top shelves.]

[Little packaged snack foods were a weakness of Ion's. He may or may not have obliterated Izaya's stock of them.]
no subject
What kind of snacks?
no subject
[He doesn't know what they're called, man.]
no subject
Let's go look at them then. What flavor are they?
[Chocolate? Strawberry? ...dammit, now Squall kind of wants some.]
no subject
[Ion pauses to remember the word.]
He is Japanese.
no subject
I think there's a section for Japanese food around here.
[Although he doesn't know off the top of his head where it is.]

[Ion stands on his tiptoes, then wanders towards the glorious snackfood isle. His eyes light up. Oh, junk food, where have you been all his life?]
no subject
He skims the packages in the aisle, and if he were to be honest, Squall had no idea what some of these things were. And some of the ones he did know, he had to wonder what made the qualify as "snacks." He doesn't know exactly what it is Ion is after, so it will be up to him to find what he's looking for.]
no subject
Can you get those up there...? The ones in the green bags.
no subject
These are the ones you wanted, right?
no subject
Yes, thank you! What else did he have...? Some of the blue ones, maybe? I should have made a list.
no subject
Do you see it anywhere?
no subject
[He adds that to his basket, and then it dawns on him suddenly: There's no need for budgeting here. He can just get whatever he wants. In moments, the cart is stacked high.]
no subject
How will you get all that back to where you live?
no subject
[Why are you looking at him like that, Squall? Can't a guy love his snacks?]
