[ Kaito is doing one of the things he does best and just kind of lounging around the apartment. He's slouched on the couch with his arms crossed and his eyes closed. He's actually contemplating putting together a magic show for Vatheon and that requires him to make mental checklists, think over his resources and available locations. Although if everything's free it probably won't be too hard to rent a place out. ]

[ Nope, sentences aren't working right now. Instead, Aoko attempts to pull away slightly in an effort to regain her bearings; as nice as this feels, it's starting to get a little...overwhelming and overly intimate. ]

[ By 'this' she means holding each other and cuddling. Because this is nice, and it's at least a bit safer than...anything else. ]

This? [ Well, he certainly could live another dream where he cuddled Aoko the entire time. He uses his free hand to stroke her hair back and just nods, re-angling himself so that he can lay out on the couch and gently pulling Aoko down with him, curling around her as he does. ]

[ Aoko follows his lead, cuddling up against him. See, this is nice.

Once he says that, though, she does briefly lean up to press a kiss against his cheek before settling back down. ]

[ He smiles too, lifting his head enough to press a kiss to the back of her head and laying back down, a thought suddenly occurring to him... ]

...I hope Conan doesn't just walk in...

[ ...freezing up a little at that. Less because she's worried about him walking in now, but because....oh god, what would they have done if he'd come in earlier? ]

[ I mean, he's a seven-year-old boy. Surely he won't care that much about his caretakers snuggling on the couch. ]

But instead of replying verbally, she just reaches out a hand to pinch his cheek. ]

[ Kaito lets out an indignant yelp as he sits up to escape her pinching. ]

[ ...Trying to ignore the growing feeling of dread in her stomach.

[ Something he's not used to are nerves. Something he's not expecting is a feeling like his insides just dropped out. If this isn't a dream then-then what now? ]

[ You tell her, man. You're the one who started freaking out all of a sudden and made all those happy feelings go away. ]

[ Except she has an idea. But. But not going to admit that if he's just going to tell her that he didn't mean it because he thought none of this was real. ]

A-ah... w-well... uh.. [ Something else that doesn't happen very often, Kaito's cheeks are starting to burn a bright reddish color as he refuses to look her in the eyes. ]

Or, well, something like that. Staring at the floor and doing her best to fight back that stupid urge to cry is close enough. ]

[ Trying to make sense of everything is more difficult than he thought it would be and at first he thinks she's telling him she didn't mean it but he re-inflates as whatever she said was just confusing but it wasn't a rejection. ]
