Who: Trunks and whoever.
Where: Plaza!
When: 28th?
Style: Action
Status: Open like my heart
[Trunks' eyes flew open, his expression panicked and afraid--it might have been only two months since he disappeared from Vatheon, but for him it had been much longer.
And much more eventful.
And of course, he'd forgotten all about Vatheon until now, seeing the coral was bringing everything back--his mother, father, sister, Gohan...but of course there were the memories of back home, the appearance of the androids, Cell, the violent fighting between the crazed, perfection-obsessed android and the other fighters, Goku's sacrifice...
...the death beam coming at him out of the sudden storm, far too fast to dodge or block, even if he could, even if he were strong enough...
His dripping wet, long hair stuck to his face and neck as he sat up and looked down at the ragged hole in his chest armor, his blood still stubbornly staining the broken edges (it would be worse in back, so much worse...)
Well. Shit.]
...it couldn't have been two seconds earlier?
[Some rescue you are, stupid coral.]

...then that was Frieza. That was when you arrived.
no subject
Frieza and his father.
no subject
...we were fortunate you arrived, then.
[He hasn't unlocked the secret to becoming a Super Saiyan just yet. He clenches his fist under the table, looking angry. Still, even though he's clearly disgruntled, he essentially admitted that he needed the help.]
no subject
It really wasn't necessary, I found out. But...still, it felt good. To get into a fight I had a chance to win for once.

[Vegeta can't possibly imagine training any harder than he does, so that honestly seems pretty futile to him.]

One of the things...we thought we could fix, that would make things better...Goku died not long after he came back to Earth, of a heart virus. Sudden onset, no cure--not at the time, anyway.
I came to warn everyone, but I also came to bring back medicine to save him.
[...and if you knew anything of time travel theory and the whole 'eliminating a timeline via paradox' thing, that might be particularly disturbing.]
no subject
From a virus?
no subject
Mom thought it might have been something he picked up in space.
It was a small change...Mom couldn't be sure that anything more, even just going back in the first place, wouldn't create a paradox that would make things even worse.
Weekends are suffering. /sorry for slow
[Surprise, surprise! Vegeta read up on this stuff after finding out he had a future son back when he was a teenager. It's not as if he had anything better to do, being stuck here.]
it's okay :D
[holy crap dad you read?]
Really, that was probably the best-case scenario.
no subject
It was worth the risk.
[The words are awkward even as he says them, and he's not sure WHY. Is he trying to offer comfort? To tell Trunks that his actions were right? He doesn't know.]
no subject
It was the only option we had left.
[Because like hell Trunks was going to be able to get strong enough to win on his own without getting killed first. also yeah this is awkward.]
...so, um, what did I miss?
no subject
[He's quite irritated at that. Vegeta's eager for more decent fights here, though being pounded into the ground by Gohan wasn't appealing in the least.]
...there's a boy running around with your face. He says that he is your brother, but he's not Saiyan. He uses some sort of magic.
[Any insight Trunks can offer on Angelo is much appreciated, thank you.]
no subject
I met him briefly before I left. I don't know much more about him, but he's not my brother. It's just some kind of strange coincidence.
no subject
[He also nearly killed Vegeta, but only because Vegeta let him by staying powered down and remaining as a good target. He won't mention that part to Trunks, since Trunks clearly disapproves of that particular "training" method.]
no subject
That's right...you have a gravity room now.
[and if Angelo had claimed to be his brother, Vegeta would think he was half-Saiyan. He brought the challenge upon himself, really. So he doesn't really care.]
no subject
[He pauses before asking his next question, but... if Trunks is capable of maintenance on the gravity room, he doesn't have to live with that woman anymore. She's intolerable! Especially the way she just falls asleep in the middle of her work wearing barely anything at all and -
- now is not the time to think about that.]
Are you able to perform maintenance on a gravity room?
no subject
I can do some tinkering, but nothing that complicated.
no subject
[What, exactly, there's "no helping" isn't elaborated on since the food finally shows up. Vegeta digs in immediately. Eat that frustration away, Vegeta!]
no subject
[...oh god is this what he thinks it is?]
no subject
That woman insists that it's more convenient to perform maintenance on the gravity room if I remain nearby.
[He doesn't refer to Bulma by name, but it's obvious who "that woman" is.]
no subject
It is kind of difficult to maintain.
[he thinks, anyway.]
no subject
[Nevermind that her screeching voice is often just telling him that breakfast is ready. Really, she's nice to him in general. It frightens him. What the hell is her motivation? What does she want out of him? She couldn't possibly just want his company, that's absolutely ridiculous.]
no subject
[He's not moving out on Gohan. :I]
