Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' [OPEN]
Who: Tavros Nitram and anyone who wants to pester the kid in a wheelchair.
Where: Almost anywhere!
When: any time after his robot legs god ripped off? }:D??
Style: Your choice?
Status: Open!
Tavros was more than a little bummed at first when his robot legs started malfunctioning. He knew it was the best idea to take them off before he hurt himself or -god forbid- Nepeta. He'd just thought he was past needing a four-wheel device to get around, and the hive they were living in wasn't actually equipped for someone who couldn't walk.
Still, he made do with what he could and Nepeta helped him out a lot. It was actually easier to get around not having legs at all than it was trying to drag around useless ones, he could practically make it all the way up the stairs going backwards using just his arms. Equius promised to make him new legs, so he knew it wouldn't be forever. It just brought up a lot of ingrained fears and insecurities that he'd never really dealt with.
He wasn't letting it get to him. Though technically it was more Nepeta not letting him let it get to him. So he still went out, maneuvering easily through the streets in his chair, even rolling out towards the forest to see how far he could get.

Half of him is made of metal, surely he'd be to heavy? But oh... the hope he now has in his eyes.

"I thought... in case something happens again, perhaps it would be something to make you feel closer to, ah, Summoner. Something for, if he runs off again-" When. "-you have something to show him when gets back." If. When he runs off or is pulled back, if he comes back to Vatheon.
Darkleer doesn't mention that, however. No need to spread his pessimism to others.

"I promise that, I will do something good to, uh... thank you for them."

"And please, I like building things. There is hardly any reason to thank me."

As a holographic- still blue- image of a bare troll body comes up, Darkleer begins to gesture as he explains. "I would have to open up your back to insert them, but they would be small-" A series of little dots lights up along the spine. "They wouldn't get in the way. After that, we would let your body adjust and heal up, although there are methods we can make the latter a faster process. Simple so far?"

Tav sat and watched the display with no small amount of amazement, both at the technology and what it was displaying. "And, uh... putting things in my spine won't, make the rest of me paralyzed too?"
no subject
"No, they won't, you won't have to worry. Biotechnology can be delicate, but when merged with a troll, it tends to take on the same sturdy characteristics we are known for." Like walking around missing an eye on and an arm like it's not a big deal. Goshdarned wacky ceruleans. "Once those have settled, this is what would be attached to your back."
Another piece to joint the rest of the hologram- a lightweight machine that's sturdiest in the center which represents a spine almost. The rest is clearly delicate in a way. They are based off of insect wings, after all, but Darkleer knows they will be sturdy enough. Quietly, he begins to explain how it will stay attached to Tavros' back in as simple enough terms as he can manage since he knows the boy is hardly an engineer. There is also discussion of the wings, and how everything will be transmitted from the wings to the small tech in his back.
It might also be a bit obvious that he is at his most relaxed when he is deep within a project, even if it is just explaining it.

He things the wings are beautiful already and they aren't even real. "And, uh... they will be able to lift me, even though I am half a robot?"
Which has been his biggest worry, even if one day he gets his own wings one day. Maybe he'll never be able to fly properly because he's too heavy.

Honestly, it is one of the better things about living here even with all the curses and experimentation. The Nostalgia Quarter may be ill-named but he cannot deny its usefulness. Just learning about the various technology which appears in its depths is enough to fill up his schedule at times, something which pleases him. It can be hard to find a challenge, sometimes.
