[ It's good to be out of the Larmline Apartments. No bombs, no stabbings, no random shocking violence to worry about out in the Coral Corral neighborhood as far as Psiioniic knows.

So it's about time they started getting things settled in finally.

Painting, gardening, cleaning up-- they're all valid places to catch the creepy old troll at work meticulously performing all these tasks.

Or, alternately, talking to bees, watching tv, or cooking. Hey, being a free troll has its perks. ]

[Sollux sees the text, but before he can reply he sees Psiioniic coming outside, so he puts his SFC away and trots towards him]

I've always had a turned around thchedule. I thtayed up late into the day before, now it'th night. What about you? Why are you up tho late?

I do not enjoy sleep. It was not a program I had frequent access to.

[ What's that? The Psiioniic giving a weird, socially awkward answer? Say it isn't so. ]

With the existence of the coral, it is not difficult to avoid it.

[Sollux frowns a bit] Do you have bad dreams? [Um, that might have been a bad reaction]

[ He flinches briefly then looks down and away because he tries really hard not to disturb the children. ]

I do not experience dreams due to the fact that I prefer consciousness.

[ And he feels a little better saying that just because he can. All those 's' sounds, man. ]

[Meanwhile, Sollux's own lisp is starting to come back. But it comes and goes, especially when he's trying to make the 's' sounds properly. He drops his gaze a bit at Psiioniic's response, and decides it's probably best to just forget he ever said anything]

Yeah, I bet. Tho! You set up your hiveth yet?

[ Yep, he is a total pro at this bonding with his descendent thing. Okay, no panicking, Sollux is changing the topic. This is not yet a complete failure in which he has proven to be a horrible predecessor.

A little shyly, he tries again. ]

It was my intent to request assistance in construction.

[Sollux doesn't think he's a failure, and being awkward and weird is just Psiioniic's brand of normal. Besides, that shy tone is adorable.

He nods and breaks into a grin]

I could do that. Where do we thtart?

[ There is nothing adorable about being completely socially incapable, Sollux, gosh.

The supplies are moved rather deftly just off to the side of the pair, unstacking and restacking them all together. There are no tools, of course. Neither of them would have any luck with something as complex as a hammer. That would take actual physical ability.

He gestures towards the one existing hive. ]

We take those to make three duplicates of the hive.

[ That sure is a lack of anything like blueprints or schematics. You can just intuitively look at something and recreate it, right, Sollux? ]

[Sollux can't help but be awed by how deftly Psiioniic is able to manipulate various objects, moving them from different places and stacking them, without damaging a single one. He suspects he'd have trouble dividing his attention like that, and end up either dropping objects or smashing them together.

But he's determined to show his ancestor that he can do well, too! So he walks over to the hive and pokes about it, looking at how it's contructed]

Yeah, lookth good.

[And now to grab some wood off the pile, shifting the other things that were on top of it and trying to juggle the whole lot without dropping it, trying to do several things at once, like Psiioniic managed.

The wood ends up crashing to the ground as Sollux tries to rearrange the rest of the pile at the same time, and Sollux swears. Finally, he keeps the pile from toppling, and picks up the wood again, carrying it more sedately over to them with his powers and stacking it neatly near where they want to construct the hive]

Uh, okay. We need nailth, I guethh...
