Maid Uniforms ☽
Characters: Minato, Yukari, and you!
Location: Maid Cafe off the main plaza
Time: All day, every day
Style: Whatever works! We’ll follow!
Status: OPEN
[When Minato and Yukari went on a walk that morning, as wasn’t all that unusual for them. It was a nice sense of normality for the two of them, even if it was a bubble with fish instead of sky. They were talking a different route this time, which is why things got a little strange when they were suddenly accosted.
Or rather, Yukari was.
The rather insistent native grabs her arm and tugs and says, “Please, you have to help us!” and SEES being SEES, they can’t just leave a plea for help like that.
Except it turned out to be more a plea for “services”. Services being a maid outfit. In a maid cafe.
Oh.
At first it was just Yukari, who hardly looked pleased with the idea, despite finding the pink variety of maid outfits they offered very cute. But then she turns to Minato.]
H-Hey-- you’re not leaving, are you? If I’m doing this, you should help them, too!
[Her eyes look pleading. Except that is exactly what he’d planned on doing--
Leaving, that is.]
...Ah. Well--
[He doesn’t get to say much more before the eager natives grab him too--and since the natives are a bit rusty on proper maid cafe decorum, he ends up in a similar outfit (thankfully not pink). But he doesn’t look too happy about it. Not that he has much of a choice.
So now Yukari and Minato are stuck in a maid cafe. In maid uniforms.
You know you want to join them.
ooc: You’ll likely get both Yukari and Minato responding to tags to this post! ♥]

[Yukari glances over Maka shoulder for a moment once she's ordered, and then turns to Minato.]
You wanna take this one?
[Not that she really minds doing the work but...she doesn't want him to be bored either, as long as he's stuck this way.]
no subject
Right away, Maka-san.
[Disappearing now! converse amongst yourselves.]
no subject
So, Yukari, how've you been doing? Sorry I haven't been around much, I guess I haven't been feeling well.
[If by "not feel well" she means "deep pervasive depression."]
no subject
Eehee, but it's been a while since they've gotten to talk, so Yukari seems a little eager to, even. Though she doesn't even bother answering that first question; she's much more concerned with the rest of it.]
Oh, no, it's nothing to apologize for.
...Have you been sick or something?
[...yeah, 'deep pervasive depression' is certainly not the first thing that comes to mind, when she thinks of Maka.]
no subject
[No.]
Not really...I guess you could say that? I haven't been feeling like myself lately, for a long time, and I'm not sure if I'll ever feel like myself again.
[But Yuka-tan, talking about death is awkward!]
no subject
This does definitely remind her of how she felt, after Minato's death. Maybe that's how it was so easy to shut everyone out; so easy to think she wanted to leave SEES behind.
...In the end, that's not how it was at all, huh?]
That... that sounds serious. What happened?
no subject
[Yukari HAS to know. She's her friend. Keeping things from friends is the fastest way to lose them...like she lost Kid.]
Last year...after Halloween...my friend was one of those people that disappeared and came back acting different. He, um, he...killed me.
no subject
Oh god, she remembers Halloween well. Ryoji, that idiot... she never did really understand what happened to any of them. The natives didn't provide any answers either...
Even Maya--
Maya died, too, and now--]
He what?
D-Did he...
[Did he mean to?
Did he even-- even apologize, acknowledge--
There are so many ways she could finish that sentence, she doesn't even know where to start.]
no subject
[It was weeks of this endless misery and arguments. She should feel relieved that it's over, but she can't.]
We couldn't keep it together and the adults from our world that were here weren't exactly very understanding of the situation. They just wanted me to stay away from him entirely...maybe they were right...but I wanted to help Kid. I just couldn't be strong enough. Then he left Vatheon and so did everyone else...which I guess is a good thing, it'd be terrible if something like this happened again.
no subject
...Yukari is stunned. This is a lot to take in, and she almost feels like Maka's been holding it in. No one to talk to, no friends from her own world. This is...this is hard to listen to, but... regardless, she does, very carefully without interrupting.
It's quiet when she finishes. She can only hear her own breathing, and she almost wishes Minato would come back soon...
He'd know.
He'd know what to say. But Yukari, she just--]
Maka, I-- I'm sorry.
[......]
If I'd known, I...
[Why didn't she say something...?]
no subject
[So they have a right to know. She looks down at her hands linked tightly together in her lap, smiling though the subject is still painful.]
It's gotten to the point that I just cling to anything that makes me remotely happy, and that's not fair of me to do.
