Fai was heading to the shops to spend the day relaxing. The past couple days he had woken up in the morning feeling a little under the weather, which was rather odd for the upbeat vampire. He didn't think much about it, figuring it might be a trick of the bubble. If it could turn people into strange creatures, it also could have the power to make a vampire feel ill.

After moving around for awhile, he would feel slightly better. That day he had decided to finally venture out and get some lunch. But as he traveled that feeling of weakness washed over him again. He reached out and placed his hand against the side of the building he was next to as he tried to wait it out.

"I wonder if I've been pushing myself to do too much lately.." As he stood there a slow realization hit him. There was one activity he had not done recently that was vital to his continued survival.

"I can't just do that..I need..maybe the store.." He knew there was other vampires in this world and that they had managed to survive using other means. It was something he should have thought about before that point but Fai wasn't filled with any sort of blood lust. He was still getting used to the fact he had to survive with out Kurogane around. He didn't want to have to drink the blood of others unless it was absolutely necessary. But now he knew why he felt rundown. It had become necessary.

He turned towards the direction he knew a store was at, but it wasn't going to happen. His legs buckled and he fell forward.

[Fai collapses against her and it takes him a moment to realize he hasn't hit the ground but is instead in someone's arms. He lifts his head a little wearily and somehow manages to smile still.]

Morte-san..I'm sorry. I didn't mean to fall on you.

_{[Morte glares at him a little, then sighs.]}

So? Mind answering my question? Or do you need me to repeat it?

[Fai tries to stand up straight again but his body just won't have it. He gives up after a moment and looks down rather defeated.]

I guess you could say I haven't been taking the best care of myself..

No kidding. I've never seen you looking as bad as this.

_{[Morte grabs Fai's arm and starts dragging him away from this place.]}

You won't get any better if you stay here, you know?

[Fai tends to put up a strong front. But he can't keep it up right now. He follows after her.]

No..I won't. I need to get to a store. There is something I need.

_{[She stops and looks at him.]}

What? A medicine or something?

Something like that...I was told I could find it in the stores. I have to at least try. [He doesn't want to say what..though he knows once you see what he needs you'll understand anyway.]

_[sigh.]

Fine, fine. We'll go and get it now, alright?

Thank you. [He has no idea where it will be located in the store but he has to give it a shot. And he can't exactly ask for it..Fai just hopes he can hold out long enough to find it.]..and I'm sorry for this.

Why are you apologizing to me? You should apologize to yourself. How did you even end up like this?

There is something I need in my life to survive..but it is something I hesitate to have. It was easier when I was traveling because I had someone who made sure I took it, but here...it just became an afterthought. [Mostly because he didn't want to think about it.]

Well, never mind. Let's hurry up and get whatever you need.

[Fai gave a small laugh and looks over at her.] For the longest time..no..I didn't.

[He falls silent and heads towards the store.]

_{[Morte just glances at him, then shrugs.]}

Whatever.

_{[And inside the store, she'll have an eye on him.]}

...Do you see that thing you needed here?

I don't think it would be very big..[Fai heads towards the medicine aisle..its the best assumption he an make about where it would be. He walks along it then pauses as he sees something that might work but he hesitates at reaching for it.]

_{[Morte notices his hesitation.]}

What's wrong?

[He glances at her then back at the bottle.] Even if I take these..I don't think it's going to be enough.

[He takes a blood pill bottle from the shelf and looks down it. He's going to need more than that can offer. He turns to head towards some of the cabinets at the end and looks inside where bags of blood are hanging. He almost feels his knees go weak again at the mere thought of drinking one of those.]

_{[This is... suspicious. Morte walks up to him. She eyes the cabinet and without looking at Fai she asks.]}

Just what exactly are you looking for?

[behind_my_smile]

Blood. [His expression is serious as he stares at the bags.] I'm a vampire, Morte-san. I need to drink the blood of others to survive..

[It's obvious that this is not something he enjoys doing at all.]

You... what?

Fai has to drink blood to survive? If she didn't see that serious expression he is making now, she would think he is joking!

I drink blood..[Fai reaches out and opens the cabinet. He pulls out a couple of the packs and then shuts it. He takes a step back and stares at the bags in his hand. This really didn't sit right with him at all but he had no choice.]

If I don't..I'll starve and die.

[Fai looks towards her finally, it evident on his face that every word is the truth.]

_{[Morte shakes her head in disbelief.]}

To think that someone like you...

_{[She glances at him one more time, not sure what else to say.]}

[Fai smiles softly as he watches her.] Someone like me? I suppose there are lots of different types of vampires across the many worlds and dimensions.

Sometimes first impressions can be misleading..What kind of person do you think I am? Does being a vampire really change it that much?
