6th Combo
Who: Lloyd Irving and anyone
Where: Island beach
When: Morning
Style: Either
Status: Open
[There aren't very many good places in Vatheon to get away from everyone. Not that Lloyd is trying to avoid anyone, but it's usually a good idea to go someplace out of the way when training with new mana techniques - and that's exactly what he's doing today. He'd found a good stretch of beach that was, for the moment, unoccupied - probably because of the chill in the morning air discouraging casual beachgoers. There might be more people in the afternoon, but he'd no doubt have called it quits long before then.
So, while he still has the beach to himself, time to get to work! Drawing both his swords, the teen in red runs through a basic warm-up before settling into a familiar routine. Without calling on his own inner mana, he goes through the motions of the techs he thinks are closest to what he's trying to achieve. Demon Fang, Tempest, Beast, they all involve molding mana around his blades. If he can just keep it there, instead of unleashing it...
Anyone passing by this particular stretch of beach will either see a teenage swordsman hard at work training himself - or they'll pass by just in time to get blasted by mana and sand from one of Lloyd's failed technique attempts.]

let's do it
Then Lloyd does another move, Tempest, one that makes Guy draw up straight beside him. Luke spares him a glance before he stares again, watching the teen land in the sand.
Luke had only seen Guy learn that in secret, using it in battle when he didn't expect it. It had to be one of those artes that was learned only through a select few people - it had annoyed Luke at first, and still does in a sense. But now he's learned to respect it and let Guy be... even if his curiosity over it kills him sometimes.
Since Guy isn't taking initiative, Luke feels like he ought to. In the past, he wouldn't have a problem calling the teen out and demanding where he learned those moves. Now, though, he's more hesitant, more nervous, but it only causes a few seconds of hesitation before he steps forward and calls out.]
Uh - Hey! Excuse me!
[It still feels strange to hear that come out of his mouth.]
1/2 - Oooooh~ <3
Hey, Guy! And... uh... I don't think I ever got your name.
[Yeah, that's right. He had talked to him once, but that brief conversation had been incredibly awkward.]
2/2
Er... you took my advice, right?
yes... and I will leave the fontech on~
And then Lloyd goes and asks that awkward little question.
...
That is a look of oblivious curiosity right there, Lloyd.]
Advice? What advice?
MEANWHILE IN A 20 MILE RADIUS OF THIS EVENT...
I'm... sorry, but I don't remember any advice. [Or you. 8|a]
Bro-ships being shipped!
He tries to give Luke a meaningful look.]
You know, about not waking Guy up when he's tired?
[There. Smooth and casual and not obvious at all. Luke will catch the emphasized part and remember, and Guy will think that Lloyd was just being a nice friend and making sure other people didn't wake him up too early or something.
Lloyd is the best at this.]
Zelos totally not being gay!
Lloyd, Luke's only been here five days. You sure you're thinking about the right person?
[Giving a verbal cue of his own, if Lloyd's willing to catch it. There was a high chance that Lloyd had spoken to Luke during his last stay, and.. well, he couldn't just assume Luke remembered things.
Not that this wasn't a sudden memory shift or anything. But might as well give Lloyd a subtle hint.]
IT WAS AMAZING the end
He keeps the annoyance about it down, though. Instead, he gives a sheepish grin and shrugs helplessly.]
Yeah... sorry. That's what I was talking about, with the... not remembering thing.
ilu guys
[Lloyd looks from Luke to Guy uncertainly.]
But... I thought... I could have sworn I talked to him...
[He looks at Luke again, trying to compare him with the memory of that long ago conversation. Finally, he smiles sheepishly.]
Sorry. I guess I thought you were someone else.
[He shifts both swords into one hand, then holds his free one out.]
I'm Lloyd Irving. So you're Luke, huh?
<3 (also lol I have nothing of value to contribute this time SORRY)
Sort of.
Sigh. He'd have to mention the sudden switch to Lloyd some other time, or maybe just let it filter into the conversation for later. Right now he stays silent, letting introductions finish between the two younger men.]
/shuns Guy
Yeah, Luke fon Fabre. [...] I-It's nice to meet you. [That's what one's supposed to say, right? He gives a little, uncertain glance to Guy, before he lowers his hand to his side again.]
Oh, hey, so... Uh, sorry we interrupted. But those artes you have...
no subject
[Lloyd's handshake is firm, nothing wrong with his grip. Then he lets go and rubs the back of his neck, looking somewhat embarrassed.]
Oh. You guys saw that, huh? I swear I'm better at techniques than that. I'm just trying to make something new.
[He thinks Luke is referring to his many failed attempts. The results of those had after all made a pretty spectacular mess.]
jesus christ this is late, sorry guys
[Not that Guy was a master swordsman or anything, but Lloyd at least held himself in training with an aura of experience, even for as young as he was.
The blonde lets his arms cross in front of him, expression growing a little thoughtful.]
Curious, though - where did you learn some of those?
