6th Combo
Who: Lloyd Irving and anyone
Where: Island beach
When: Morning
Style: Either
Status: Open
[There aren't very many good places in Vatheon to get away from everyone. Not that Lloyd is trying to avoid anyone, but it's usually a good idea to go someplace out of the way when training with new mana techniques - and that's exactly what he's doing today. He'd found a good stretch of beach that was, for the moment, unoccupied - probably because of the chill in the morning air discouraging casual beachgoers. There might be more people in the afternoon, but he'd no doubt have called it quits long before then.
So, while he still has the beach to himself, time to get to work! Drawing both his swords, the teen in red runs through a basic warm-up before settling into a familiar routine. Without calling on his own inner mana, he goes through the motions of the techs he thinks are closest to what he's trying to achieve. Demon Fang, Tempest, Beast, they all involve molding mana around his blades. If he can just keep it there, instead of unleashing it...
Anyone passing by this particular stretch of beach will either see a teenage swordsman hard at work training himself - or they'll pass by just in time to get blasted by mana and sand from one of Lloyd's failed technique attempts.]

She recovers fairly quickly, though; it wasn't a very strong burst, at least, though it was enough to knock her over with a bit of pain. She stands up, whipping Elrond out just in case she needed it, and looked around ...
... only to realize that there's a pain in her eyes. Yep. Sand in the eyes. Kohaku's now setting to work at rubbing her eyes and trying to get the sand out of there. ]
Owwww ...
no subject
Oh man, I'm so sorry! Are you all right?!
no subject
[ She's not sure if this guy is the one who caused the sand to be in her eyes to begin with, but she's plenty grateful for the concern. ]
no subject
Here, rinse your eyes out. I have an apple gel, too, if you want.
[Worry, worry, worry. He doesn't know how hard he hit her.]
no subject
Thanks ... It doesn't hurt that much. My eyes are the biggest problem right now.
[ And she's got healing artes, but she didn't mention that. ]
no subject
I'm really sorry. Is there anything else I can do?
no subject
Is there much else that can be done? What you've done so far is really helping, so don't worry about it, okay?
[ She's trying to be reassuring. Is it working? ]
no subject
Are you sure you don't want that apple gel? They're medicine in my world. It'll help you feel better.
no subject
They're medicine in my world, too!
[ There was consumption of many of them over the course of their journey and whatnot.
Kohaku finally manages to get most of the sand out of her eyes and makes sure to pat her sleeve free of any more sand before drying her face on it. Her eyes understandably look red and puffy from everything that had happened, but she was smiling. ]
You wouldn't happen to be from Celirand at all, would you?
no subject
[Lloyd perks up, the same thoughts running through his head. Is she from his world?
Wait, Celirand?
He shakes his head.]
I've never heard of it. What about Sylvarant or Tethe'alla? Or Aselia? Have you heard of them before?
no subject
No, never. We've only got Celirand and Quartzia back in my world, though Quartzia is technically not in any liveable condition at the moment.
[ And yet, they have the same medicines ... huh. interesting. ]
But we both have apple gels in common ... there are other medicines, too. Stronger ones. You have stronger ones in your world as well?
no subject
So... you have two worlds where you're from, too? Do they compete for mana? Is Quartzia running out and that's why you can't live there?
[How much are their worlds alike?]
Yeah, there's stronger medicines, too. Lemon gels heal you even more than apple gels, and orange and pineapple gels boost your mana. There's even some gels that can do both, like melange gels and miracle gels, but those are harder to find. They're expensive, too. Elixers are the best, but you almost never see those.
no subject
No, that's not exactly it ... a long time ago, the entire world of Quartzia was calcified due to a giant monster known as Gardenia. It made the world uninhabitable.
[ She shivers at the memory of Gardenia. They were able to defeat it, but it was still a close call .. and very, very frightening. She might not have been here now if it hadn't been for Shing doing what he did to keep her safe.
But let's turn the conversation back to gels now, okay? ]
Oh, wow ... that's almost identical to the gels in my world.
[ This is kind of cool. Kind of freaky, but kind of cool. ]
no subject
[He thinks he can guess the answer, but he's hoping that he's wrong.]
That's amazing that our gels are almost the same. I wonder if people went between our worlds before...
[He trails off for a moment, looking thoughtful. Then he refocuses on her and holds out his hand.]
I'm Lloyd, by the way. Lloyd Irving.
no subject
[ Yeaaah ... so we may as well say they're dead. Most of the populace of Celirand doesn't know this sort of thing, though, and she only knows because she's seen it herself. ]
I would ask if that's possible, but we were all transported here somehow, right? Maybe someone has that same power ...
[ Oh, a hand! Kohaku reaches out and shakes his hand. ]
Nice to meet you, Lloyd! I'm Kohaku Hearts.
no subject
[He just hopes that's not a common word he should know. A hint of embarrassment creeps onto his cheeks.]
Or maybe someone who came here accidentally went back to the wrong world. That's possible, too, right?
[He has no idea how long this place has been taking people from their worlds, or if that would even matter, since it can pull people from different times.]
Nice to meet you, too, Kohaku!
no subject
[ No worries, Lloyd, she's had to explain this several times.
She should just make a pamphlet]... Is that possible? I really don't know ...
no subject
[If it's something from her world, he doesn't feel so bad for not knowing what it is.]
I don't know if it's possible, either, but who knows? Maybe it is. It's probably just as likely as any other explanation we can come up with.
no subject
[ When her own spirune shattered, she hadn't been able to see it. But she heard that it looked like a multi-colored crystal ... kinda like that, yeah. ]
I've heard ... that mine looked like a multi-colored crystal. But I don't know if that's the same for everyone.
[ She nods at the last thing he said, though. ]
Yeah! After coming to this place, I guess anything really is possible, huh?
no subject
[A pause as he hesitates, a thought occurring in his mind. Cautiously he lifts his left hand, showing her the Exsphere embedded on the back.]
It isn't like this... is it?
no subject
[ she leans in and takes a look at the Exsphere, then shakes her head. ]
No, not like that. At least, I don't think so ...
no subject
no subject
Sorry ... I guess it would be a little confusing to someone who hadn't grown up with that kind of thing.
[ This did make her curious, though. ]
Why are you glad that expheres aren't peoples' hearts? Is there something wrong with them?
no subject
[Wow, he's never had to explain this by himself before. Where does he even start? He gropes for words to explain how horrible the little stones are.]
I'm not exactly sure what Exspheres are. They get mined from the earth, but they're not just rocks. If you put them on your skin without anything else, they make you sick and your mana goes out of control. If you don't get a Key Crest, you'll eventually turn into a monster. They make you stronger, though, and you can do things with your mana you couldn't do before. But... for an Exsphere to develop enough that someone can use it like that, it has to feed off someone else's suffering and pain first, and taking it off if they didn't have a Key Crest kills the person who had it, if they aren't already dead. Exspheres are made from human lives.
no subject
T-That's ... so, you've got the, um. Key Crest, right? For yours?
[ She's only just met Lloyd, but she doesn't want him to die if that thing is removed. ]
