Who: Raine Sage and YOU
Where: Up on the Island
When: May 23rd
Style: Starting in Action 'cause lazy. Will follow though.
Status: Open.
[ The half-elven Professor had put to rest researching for the day. While she hates to admit it she's been distracted. While yes, she can still read and take notes her mind isn't completely focused on her work and thus it rather displeases her. It wasn't often when she wasn't able to concentrate.
She's walking along the beach on the island. She's in the sand, just far enough away from the water to that it doesn't touch her. Just barely. Ever since arriving in Vatheon Raine has known that she needed to get over her fear of water. At least, enough to where she can go down to the bubble. At first, it seemed all right for her to stay up on the island and allow Zelos and others to come and bring her supplies. However, recent events have told her that she can't allow that to happen much longer. Since the event of Zelos' death she's been slowly progressing.
It wasn't enough.
Raine can only get into the elevator and down to Vatheon before feeling ill. Considering the distance to the Coral she probably wouldn't fully make it there and back without assistance. In all honestly, at this point in time she might be able to make it to the coral, but even with the coral helping those who feel ill it wouldn't last long. She would have to walk back to the island after all.
At this state Raine can't really do anything to help others. She can't go and visit and check on her students or anyone else that she might be acquainted with and... she hates it. While she enjoys the tranquility on the island just sitting around while those she knows are in trouble frustrates her.
However, it wasn't the only thing that was frustrating her. Not only can she do much to help but there are those who are pushing her. While getting a little push is all right there is only so much that she can do at a time. She can't just get over it and rush down into the bubble. She reacts. And it's not a good reaction.
Raine releases a small sigh before turning and looking at the sea. Water can be beautiful but the thought of past events scare her. Even if she doesn't look like it does eventually her body reacts and she started to feel green. But if she were to get anywhere here in Vatheon she needs to conquer that. At least enough to get from building to building.
She glances at the waves as they crash onto the shore and end just a few inches before where she is currently standing. Perhaps she is thinking about this the wrong way. Going down into the bubble where water is surrounding her was a big step considering the circumstances. There are other options than just taking a big step.
Once more look at the sea.
... Maybe she should learn how to swim.
For as long as she can remember she's been avoiding bodies of water and only sticking to places where it's really shallow and she can clean herself in. But it's an idea. Get used to the water on the surface and eventually she can get used to being underwater.
She chuckles softly to herself. Well, she's managed to bring herself up to not feeling ill from looking at the sea. Maybe the next step is inserting herself into the body of water.
However, she would need someone there. Trying to learn how to swim by herself would be a reckless move.
Another soft sigh before proceeding down the beach as she continues to ponder. Feel free to come and speak to her. ]

[Which is why he is currently walking on the beach. Just a short distance away, gliding across the water, is the pokemon herself. She looks like she is enjoying herself a great deal, though every so often she looks over to her master as if to check he is still there. Mitsuhide smiles at her every time, expression gentle and reassuring.]
[Eventually he walks along the stretch of shore that the Professor is occupying.]
[The samurai bows his head in greeting when he spots and passes Raine, only stopping when he sees her expression. Hmm... it is best to check and make sure she is okay. Mitsuhide could not forgive himself, if he simply abandoned someone in any kind of distress.]
Forgive me, my Lady... I hope I have not interrupted your alone time?
[Out on the water, Miyuki stops swimming and watches.]
no subject
When she had glanced up she noticed the samurai on the shore. It was a nice day so seeing someone else wasn't a surprise here. She hadn't planned on saying much to the fellow until he spoke up.
She stops walking and shakes her head in response. ]
Not at all.
[ Talking to someone might serve as a good distraction. It seems rather interesting, especially with his clothing. Since arriving here in Vatheon she's allowed herself to open up a little to learn about others' worlds and cultures. ]
It is a peaceful day after all. It isn't a surprised that I am not the only one walking along the shoreline.
no subject
It's almost too warm and too peaceful, because his eyelids start to droop a bit and he's on the verge of falling asleep right there in the sand. But he spots Raine at the last second and wakes right back up. He gets up and approaches her.]
Hello.
no subject
Greetings. Are you also out enjoying the weather?
[ Though it wasn't Raine's initial purpose it was a nice day out. ]
no subject
Ja, it's hot and sunny today.
[Unlike the eternal rain of the Junkyard.]
I was thinking about going swimming or flying, but just being here on the beach is nice too.
no subject
I'm not a fan of swimming myself. [ However ] You have the ability of flight?
no subject
Ja. Wanna see?
no subject
Certainly! I would be delighted to see you take flight.
no subject
Oh, right, I just wanna say don't be scared, ja?
[BACK TO BUSINESS. The tattoo glows again and his body changes to his demon form. Cielo hops off the ground, hovering upright in the air before doing a little backflip.
He holds off on roaring though.]
no subject
Do not worry about me. I'll be all right.
[ She than watches the transformation. This would be the second time she has seen a transformation as such since arriving upon this world. It's a bit curious as to whether they are not from the same world or not. However, she'll refrain on asking about that and comment on something else instead. ]
Absolutely fantastic! So you can transform into another sort of creature, in which that form can take flight!
no subject
That's about right.
[She reminds him of Shinra, and he stays in place so she can get a better look if she wants.]
no subject
She moves forward and start getting a better look at him. ]
Would it be all right if I asked you a few questions?
no subject
[He lands, clawed toes touching down on the sand. If she wants him to fly again, he'd gladly do so.]
I might not be able to answer everything, but I'll do my best, ja?
no subject
This form is a demon form, is it not? What sort of powers does it possess that your other form does not.
no subject
[He's surprised at that. He usually has to explain.]
I can use magic like this. I'm also much stronger and can smell and hear much better too.
no subject
Well...okay, there wasn't much to do that he understood. The only thing that was familiar was all the fish swimming around him. After a while though it was too much to look out at the water and not be able to actually go in it.
Which was why he was walking along the beach now, carefully picking his way across the sandy shore. He'd stop several times to look at something new or to poke at the water with his toes. Urchin heard the sigh and glanced up. He stopped moving, not to sure if he should approach the girl or not.
Humans ere still something to be wary of...even if around here it was pretty hard to tell if someone was even human to begin with...]
Uhm...are you alright?
no subject
But, at least she's gotten used to seeing the body of water surrounding the island that she doesn't instantly feel ill upon seeing it. Still, it's not good for her to be looking out for long periods of time.
Upon hearing someone ask a question she looks up and notices the blonde boy in front of her. She smiles calmly. While she rarely trusts anyone upon first encounter it was slightly easier to do so with those who are younger. Slightly. ]
Ah. I'm just pondering about an idea. But, otherwise, I am all right.
no subject
[He grins a little before looking out over the waves. He turns back to Raine pretty fast though, it was still surreal to see the ocean from the other side.]
Ponderin' what? If it's a way off of this place then I can save you a lot of thinking.
There's no way off.
no subject
Yes. I am fully aware. Until the Lamufao decides to take us home we are to stay here in Vatheon. I was pondering about something else.
[ There was a small pause before she continues ]
I was wondering if perhaps I should learn how to swim.
no subject
Oh yeah, humans can't swim.
It might be a good idea, in case something happens to the bubble.
[He scratches his head a second before shrugging.]
I could show ya. It's just like how I used to swim....well, except with two fins instead of one.
no subject
Many learn how to swim but due to an incident when I was younger I never learned.
[ She then proceeds to smile lightly at him ]
Ah yes. Well... I would certainly enjoy your assistance. However, you will have to be quiet patient with me.
no subject
What happened?
[Forgive his bluntness, he's barely learning the idea of manners.]
Eh it's alright. I don't mind having to wait or anything. Not like there's anything I've gotta hurry to do.
no subject
... An accident with the sea. It had left me not very fond of water.
[ It was more than that, but perhaps enough for him to understand. ]
I will first.. have to get used to the water. If I can do that then it would be difficult to learn how to swim.
no subject
Oh. Guess that makes sense?
[He nods before grinning brightly.]
Well. It's not so hard to get used to the water. Uhm...oh, here try this!
[He moves towards the edge of the water, standing just short of the waves hitting his toes.]
Just sorta stand here and let the tide come in. It won't hurt ya and if it makes you feel weird you can just take a step back.
no subject
Ah..
[ She watches as he walks over to the edge and allow his toes to get wet by the water. Already she feels ill on the idea of doing so but she knew that she needed to get used to water and that was a small enough first step. Slowly, she slips her feet out of her shoes and proceeds to stand next to him. ]
A-All right... !
[ As the waves hit her toes she froze for a second before quickly taking a step back. WELP. This is going to be fun. ]
no subject
Hey you let the water touch ya. That's gotta mean something right? Now you just have to work on letting it hit you longer.
[He stayed where he was, he really wanted to just jump into the water but he knew it wasn't fun for others to show off. So he just wiggled his toes in the sand.
Something he would probably never get used to.]
Count to ten then try it again.
no subject
... Yes. Small progress is better than not progress at all, correct?
[ She then nods her head before slowly counting to ten. Once doing so she slowly steps forward and allows the water to hit her again. It... still sent a chill from her spine but she held her feet there a little long than the previous try before pulling back. ]
no subject
[He watches her again and figures this might take a bit. So he plops down on the ground watching the waves come and go.]
Hey that was longer. I think you'll be fine; just gotta stay stubborn about it.
no subject
Yes. I'm not the sort who would stay stubborn about these sort of things. However, I'll do my best as this is important for me to learn and handle.
no subject
[He laid down on the sand, playing with the sand idly. He had no other plans so...he didn't mind sticking around to make sure nothing weird happened.]
Kinda stinks that this place didn't give you much choice, huh?
no subject
[ She takes another step back to give herself some space between herself and the water for a time being. There was progress. Slow progress but progress regardless. ]
I feel inclined to agree. If Vatheon did not reside underwater I would enjoy my visit far more than I have so far.
no subject
You're a teacher?
[He'd never met one of those before. That's probably why she seemed so...calm. Or well at least when she was away from the water.]
no subject
Yes. Back home I was known as The Professor. I taught several students in a small village named Iselia.
no subject
So there he is, proceeding down the beach himself from the other end. He doesn't get any closer to the water than that. Walter stops when he sees the approaching woman. Despite the unnecessary staring, he doesn't say anything. ]
no subject
It's quite rude to stare at others.
no subject
No matter. In response to her words and his lack of desire to really strike conversation, he averts his gaze to the tides. No word of apology whatsoever. ]
no subject
As his gaze shifts from her to the sea Raine found herself following his gaze over to the sea herself. She can tell that he seem to want to have a conversation and frankly that was fine with Raine. She wasn't up to speaking with someone who strikes to be rude after all. She pauses from her walk and continued to look for a bit before sighing. This place was... really difficult for her, that's for certain. ]
no subject
Why are you here?
no subject
The beach is a tranquil place where one can gather their thoughts. That is why I am here.
no subject
It lacks life. There's nothing tranquil about that.
no subject
I don't suppose you'll proceed to go into more detail on you mean by such.
no subject
[And for him, that's that. In the back of his mind, he considers it fitting how a non-Ferines would find peace in something so dead.]
no subject
no subject
no subject
The sea is never quite as tranquil as it seems.
[ This was more musing to herself than anything. Definitely not directing it towards the other person there nope. ]
no subject
[ Definitely not. It has so much more vigor and life than people of the land can possibly give it credit. It's peaceful, indeed, but not dead in this sense.
Like here. And that immediately has Walter lose interest, and he begins to march off with nothing more to say. ]
no subject
Your name. If you wish to tell me before leaving.
no subject
So Walter walks away, quiet. ]
