The flowers all over Vatheon are rather pleasant, are they not? It's nice having a more subtle curse than usual, right?

Strangely enough, there seems to be several trails of flowers leading into the Forest Quadrant. Do you feel compelled to follow them? If so, you'll find yourself at the hot spring in the forest, flowers floating ~*enticingly*~ in the water.

...Get in?

There might be someone there already, though.

[Another person who uses '-san'. He makes a note to ask what it means later. Serph glances away for a moment, thinking.]

Nearly four months.

[Serph turns his attention back to Fai. He makes no motion to get into the hot spring, though.]

How have you found your stay?

[He slips his feet into the water and kicks them a little.]

This place is very interesting. There are a lot of different types of people here and the world itself seems nice.

[In contrast, Serph is very still as he watches Fai, though his posture is quite relaxed, not stiff. He nods, agreeing, but tilts his head at the last part.]

Is your world unpleasant?

Actually, I don't have a world. It was destroyed not to long ago. [By him really but he leaves that part off.]

[bufudine]

[... Serph can empathise.]

Mine has also been destroyed.

[He says it calmly in a neutral tone, though.]

I see...So it seems we have something in common. [Fai smiles over at Serph.]

Do you have some place to go if this place ever sends you away?

[bufudine]

[Will it? Serph shakes his head.]

I don't know.

[Something about the way that last sentence had been phrased... Serph tilts his head.]

Is that the case for you?

I don't really know myself. [Fai splashes the water a little and looks off across it.]

I would like to just keep traveling across worlds, but I'm bound to one human so ultimately I believe I'll have to follow what ever decision he makes. And I believe he will choose to return to his world.

[Serph has many questions from those statements. Where to begin...

Serph understands that many of his Tribe follow him out of loyalty and comradeship. They follow his decisions, but ultimately, they don't have to follow him. Not any more.]

Does being bound mean you must follow, regardless of your own feelings?

If I don't, then I will die. Not because he will kill me, but because my body won't be able to survive.

[He says it casually as if it isn't any big deal.]

[He tilts his head.]

You seem quite alive right now.

Yes..I haven't quite figured out how that is possible yet..This world must be able to support me some how.

[When was the last time he even fed..? He dreamed something about it..but he can't be sure what happened in that strange dream had actually happened. Honestly, he questions why he is alive every day.]

[Perhaps that is an option for Fai, if he doesn't want to accompany the one he's bound to.]

If you two are able to travel to different worlds [Serph has to admit he's a little envious] could you not continue travelling and return to his world when he wishes to?

It really depends on what happens once we save the princess' memories..It's kind of hard to explain but we might lose that ability once we complete our task. It's hard to say right now. We were given that power by another and it has its limits. Besides..I know he really wishes to return home and stay there.

[bufudine]

[There's a lot he doesn't understand with this explanation. Princesses. That brings uneasy feelings, but Serph brushes that aside. There are a lot of questions he can ask but... perhaps those are better asked another time.

Serph leans forward to dip his hand in the water. Still warm. It's tempting.]

An alternative could be found here. With so many people from different worlds... you may have more options.

Yes..since it seems I'm able to survive here, it might be that chance to settle without being a burden to anyone.

[A burden..? Is that how Fai views himself? Serph makes note, but doesn't say anything as he takes off his shoes.

Something Fai had mentioned earlier. Being bound to a human. He's noticed that the only people who speaks of humans in such a way are either non-humans or people who don't consider themselves to be humans.]

Are you a non-human?

[If Fai doesn't mind him asking.]

Ah..[Fai considered this for a moment. He hasn't really told anyone here what he is. He is worried how some people might react but he doesn't think Serph will mind for some reason.]

I'm a vampire.

[bufudine]

[Ah, a vampire? He already knows one. Serph nods, accepting this, and slips his feet in the water. He's still wearing his leggings, and they're definitely getting wet.]

We are all people here, regardless of what we are.

[He's part demon, but it doesn't seem to matter much to the people in Vatheon. Vampires, trolls, demons, humans, they all live in relative peace in here.

He turns to look at Fai for his next words.]

So I hope to have your company again in the future.

[There is surprise and then relief written across Fai's face. He smiles and gives a little nod.]

I'd like that.

[He kicks his feet in the water a little.]

Some worlds aren't very accepting of other species. I'm glad this one seems to be.

[bufudine]

[Serph nods. He's happy to see a smile on Fai's face.]

Many wish to spend their time here in peace.

[But he feels like he's dominated this conversation for long enough and lets silence fall.]

Have you enjoyed your time in this place? I have heard it has its good and its bad moments.

[bufudine]

[Serph nods.]

It has been peaceful most of the time.

[He gestures to the forest surrounding them.]

This is all new to me. There is much to learn here.

You didn't have any forests on your world? What was it like?

[bufudine]

[Ah, this question.]

My world was a land of war that lacked plants and animals. The only living things in my world are humans who are part demon.

[And a cat. He says it all without much emotion; that's just the way his world was.]
