Legion was people watching today. They didn't have an extranet to use to watch organics here in Vatheon, so they were doing it the direct way. They stood at the edge of the plaza, completely still except the occasion turn of the head.
Eventually, though, they pulled out their SFC and started typing on it. Anyone who came close would notice that Legion was trying to program something on the communicator. It was long and complicated and it looked like they had been working on it for some time now.
Do you approach the robot with the giant hole in its chest?

This thing was different, though. It definitely didn't look like something from his world. And it also didn't seem dangerous, but maybe that was a modal thing. He might regret it later, but Nack was going to let curiosity get the better of him.
"Not about to blow up the fountain with that or anything, are ya?"
no subject
"No. We have no reason to perform aggressive actions."
no subject
"Heh. If you're not a local, I'd say that's a hell of a reason to be aggressive."
no subject
"Chaotic situations in an enclosed area such as this city is inadvisable. It would not accomplish anything except causing panic and injury to the organics."
no subject
"Fine. If it ain't mass destruction, then what exactly do you have going on right there?"
no subject
Legion turned to look at Nack, the panels on their head moving up.
"We are observing. Most of our observation and interactions with organics have been through data feeds."
no subject
"You telling me what you've got there is some kind of 'organic data?'" He gestured to the communicator. It was an...interesting way to go about it, if so.

[Equius strolls right up.]
Have you been damaged in some way?
no subject
This damage is old and has been repaired to the best of our ability. It does not hinder productivity in any way.
no subject
I could probably fix that.

You are familiar with robotics?

And yet, that did not stop the Councillor from being his usual old and cranky self; always unfriendly, always wary of new and unfamiliar faces.
With his hands joined behind his back, the alien warlord walked towards the robot in the plaza.
"What are you?"
His tone was rough. Disagreeable.
no subject
"We are geth. What are you?"
The rude tone didn't phase Legion a bit. They were used to aggression and outright hostility.
no subject
"Fair enough. I am Councillor Gorthan, the supreme leader of the mighty Evronian Army."
Narrowing his eyes, he inspected the synthetic being with slow movements of his head. "This level of technology bordering on sentient life... you cannot possibly be from Earth. Are you?"
no subject
Legion doesn't seem bothered by the inspection at all. Their eye follows Gorthan's movements, but otherwise they're perfectly still.
"Negative. We are from the planet Rannoch in the Tikkun System. We know of Earth, but are not from it."
no subject
"We are a single race, obviously."
He draws a slow, solemn breath. "Rannoch, Tikkun... just like you have never heard of Evron, those names are new to me. I suppose that makes us even. Is there any reason why you seem to regard yourself as a plural entity? A hive mind, perhaps?"
no subject
Legion: unintentionally offending organics since 2183.
"We are a collective consciousness. At this moment, there are 1,183 active geth functioning simultaneously within this mobile platform."

Fai couldn't believe he was talking to a robot. He had so many questions. He almost wished he could take the thing home and keep it in his living room so he could talk to it all day.
no subject
Legion paused for a moment before speaking again, "We find all organic behavior interesting."
The good thing about talking to a robot was that it could never get bored. And Legion has always preferred talking to organics to just watching them.
no subject
Fai smiled and looked around as he observed the organics as well. "What is your name? Or should I just call you Mr. Robot?"
no subject
There's a slight pause as they remind themselves not to say 'organics'.
"We are known as Legion."
