[ After the events of the 2nd, Duke had altered his voice mail, set false points of magic that would feel like him into the forest, one at his previous dwelling point, another further in, and had settled his contraption of wood and canvas that functioned as a dwelling as far away from Vatheon as he could get while still stopping at a location with a reasonable water source.

And here he will stay. It hurts, perhaps a little, but it would hurt anyway. The redhead was right, after all.

He shouldn't be around people. ]


((ooc:Assuming any and all interactions happen before he talks to Mithos. Duke is basically doing a minimum to be healthy, at the moment, because... feels :/ Pick a day, open to tagging whenever you feel comfortable on days o/))

[ A FOREST! Maybe there are peaches that look like Cheria's butt here. :3 Ahem. Nonetheless, she hasn't been to the forest before, and when she wasn't waiting for signs of Asbel by the spot where she arrived, she often tried to look around.

[ As a creature of the water, Walter tends to dwell in similar locations. The forest offers a generally peaceful atmosphere where he can be left alone, so it isn't entirely unusual that during a walk he would stop at Duke's "reasonable water source" for a short respite. And that's where he'll be when Duke presumably drops by. ]

[ A rather interesting shack. It's mostly canvas, actually. So maybe it's more of a tent. Only tents don't usually have the size this one does, or the rough shape of a house.

Little purple haired girl, you feel strange to Duke and his mana-swirling. Have some silent staring, he's not going to step back toward his house thing... ]

MAY 9TH because Serph is always late to the party

[Serph regularly takes time out in the forest; it's easy when he lives right next to it. But it's been quite some time since he's seen Duke, so perhaps now is a good time to visit. Except where Duke's home usually is is conspicuously missing. Yet when Serph checks the contact list, the man's name is still there. Perhaps he changed location, the same way Tiir supposedly does? Serph doesn't think Duke is the kind to move to a place within the city itself, though.

Well, he could do with a leisurely walk through the forest anyway.

It takes him a while to find Duke's new home -- it would have been faster if he'd transformed and tracked him by scent, but Serph is in no hurry -- but when he does, he approaches.]

Duke?

[Hopefully the guy's in, otherwise he'll just come back another day.]

[ Someone else there is a clear sign that he shouldn't take a wash now. ]

[ Duke's there, if mostly because he.. hasn't been going anywhere else.

He's not technically in, though. He got bored of staring at his canvas walls. ]

[ She is totally okay with feeling strange to strange people. She's actually very curious about this odd tentlike dwelling. Really is it a tent or is it shack? Shent? Thack? These are the mysteries of the universe.

Of course, you're going to get stared at just as much, Duke. But she will not spend her entire stay here ellipsing at the man. After a few minutes, she will pose a question! ]

[Serph tilts his head. He'd gotten along well enough with Duke before, so this sudden change in demeanour is strange.]

Why?

...... [ He... doesn't want to answer that. ]

Does not matter. [ Because, honestly, it doesn't. He's going to get labeled by actions anyway. ]

Should leave. [ She should, anyway. ]

...... [ Why do people have to ask questions. ]

[ When he notices another presence nearby, Walter draws his hand out of the stream and rises to a standing position, careful not to be too close. Spotting Duke, he shoots the man a glare that's somehow relatively neutral. ]

[Because Serph has followed orders without question for too long. He doesn't simply accept things as easily any more.

This is Serph not leaving the vicinity.]

What is your reasoning?

[ Duke blinks blankly at that somewhat neutral somewhat hostile look. Unsurprising.

Duke studies the flow of the water for a moment, then moves to make sure he's further down in the water than the blonde. He needs to wash his coat, okay?

And he's doing it without using overly soapy things. Or maybe he's just destroying all the soapy that tries to float away from him with magic, who knows. ]

[ This could be to the 'doesn't matter' or leaving, or both, honestly. But he's got himself a nice cozy lonely little spot out here. ]

Is this your home?

[ But you should :T. ]

..... For the safety of others. [ He's. Just going to remain studying nothing. ]

What could be called such. [ Maybe. he could play "stay away from my house". ]

[There are so many ways he could take that statement, but he would like to hear the words from Duke himself.]

[ Because they are valid questions. ]

Why are you living in the forest?

[ That seems like a terribly overcomplicated way of managing the soap products over something as simple as cleaning a coat. Staring, Walter doesn't end up staying for long and takes off in the other direction.

As fate would have it, his wandering brings him to Duke's excuse of a dwelling. It doesn't take a genius to connect two and two, and he stays there for a while, silent. ]

[ Oh. Maybe. He can get this to work. ]

Because it is away from people. [ Pointed reply is pointed, hopefully. He... really doesn't put too much feeling into that, though, so it might be a dull point. ]

But with the realization, he has to ask -- ]

Because there is a way I could kill every human in Vatheon without leaving this spot.
