⊙ hey, have you seen the blind girl in disguise—
Who: Tsubaki Kasugano & you
Location: The plaza and that general area.
Time: Mid-day?
Style: Whatever you like.
Status: Open!
I-I’m sorry—
[Tsubaki is wet, and visibly in a huff as she darts away from the stand. Something in between anger and embarrassment displays plain on her face; and it perhaps has to do with the local she can hear, laughing behind her as she goes, clinging to the towel that she’d been given like it was some lifeline. ‘It’ll work better than that shirt you just grabbed,’ he said—how was she supposed to know? She can barely see where she’s going, after all, which…okay, probably makes this whole running away thing a bad idea, but still.
—Heh!
Incidentally, he’d told her it was okay to keep the shirt as well, which was strange. But she didn’t question it at the time. She simply wanted to get to a quiet place to think for now, about exactly where she is and how she got there. Because this isn’t the Sacred Eye temple, is it?
That detective…Akise Aru. Somehow he’d set her free. There are no longer any mysteries tying her to the cult, forcing her to stay; and she was glad that she could repay him, at least in part. But at the same time, she didn’t think she’d be leaving so soon…
So where exactly did she wind up?
She doesn’t know, but she’ll find out. Even if it means maybe asking one of these many voices she’s hearing right now, the blur of faces around her…
Who are they all?]
(( OOC: so basically tl;dr, Tsubaki's kind of embarassed herself in front of a local and is looking for a quiet place to think. she has really poor eyesight so feel free to have your character run into her at any point during all this! ))

[Or, at least it felt pretty recent. It's hard to tell anymore, though; she's discovered a lot of strange things, since she's arrived here.]
Do you require an exact date?
[She can give it, y'know. She pretty much keeps track of everything.
At the very least, her diary would; but now that it's not exactly functioning, she would have to do so manually.]
no subject
I'd like to ask something else, too— [ he's nearly positive he's correct here, since the cult wasn't very fond of outsiders— he'd been wondering if the incidents in sakurami a while back were related to a particular person; after discovering the existence of the diaries, along with the forensic evidence of tsubaki's DEAD END scroll in particular that had been found, he firmly believes this to be the case. ]
Was it Yukiteru Amano that you had been expecting instead of me?
no subject
But she gives a sigh; and after cautiously looking around to make sure there are no eavesdroppers about, she opens the scroll slightly to show him the date from those entries.
Simultaneously, she answers his second question.]
...Yes, it was. It feels like only this morning now, though I've been told time flows differently here.
[Whatever that means.]
no subject
What happened after that?
no subject
But it hardly seems to matter now. She carefully thinks on how best to continue; since the sooner this gets sorted out, the more at peace she'll feel. Even with Akise's memories missing as they are.]
Well...
[If he really wants to know:]
We...we left, actually. I was focused on averting my Dead End at the time, but...you insisted you wanted to show me something.
It seems you'd already gathered a fair amount of information about me.
no subject
So I took you out of temple, then. [ honestly...not sure why he did that..!! you'd think one would be able to discern the why of actions that are their own, but without knowing the exact circumstances his thinking pattern could not be repeated...or assumed.
it's no surprise that he had information about her though, granted that he had a lot of that even now— after her "death". ]
And I showed you—? [ if anything, he sticks to his word; so if he had told her he was going to show her something, he most definitely would have...unless there had been an unforeseen interruption; but she would be telling him if that were the case, he's sure— ]
no subject
It was scary. That's not something she is quick to admit, especially not when freedom is something she's wished for. Something she should jump at the chance to have. But the truth is that it is scary: not because of the unknown, or what may be out there.
Just the thought of losing the chance to discover what happened to her parents...
That was enough.
But still she says nothing about that, and tries her best at a straightforward answer.]
I suppose you could call it...a glimpse of life outside. A view that I could only appreciate with my own eyes, despite how poor they are.
[...A pause, as she considers; as if going over what she's said so far, to make sure she is correct.]
I was to make a decision regarding whether or not I would leave permanently, but...at the time, I still had significant ties to the temple. So I couldn't...
[Couldn't leave.
Not until she was given closure about her parents. And that, she can than Akise for. Akise, and those who helped him.]

he agrees that tsubaki deserves as much, so he can see himself trying to help her out like that; but is that all he was doing? this is his main problem— he doesn't know what he was doing. it's something he clearly doesn't remember, and it's something only tsubaki apparently knows about— a dead person that isn't dead recalling events in a far different way than anyone else. he's missing something here, but he's not sure what it is. ]
Do you know what I was doing? [ he's not sure if asking her will do any good, but it's worth a shot— ]
no subject
For the most part, memory issues aside.]
What a detective does best, of course.
You were...unraveling a case.
no subject
vatheon was messing with time, and that was in turn messing with his ability to think properly about all of this. ]
Right. I don't recall any of this happening, or whether or not I solved the case, but...the way I remember things, we'd never met, and I'd investigated your murder after you had met with Yukiteru-kun— it was him that visited you, not me.
[ he'd been trying to avoid breaking this to tsubaki since it seemed to be the main source of her distress when they had first started talking with each other, but he couldn't avoid dancing around the subject any longer— he needed to clear this all up somehow. ]
no subject
[Her murder? She sounds a bit alarmed, and her chair scoots back a little as she repeats the words. She is not stupid enough to believe he was referring to a murder orchestrated by her, even if that is what she wants. No, there's only one way she can take that, given the context of everything that's happened here.
And there isn't a way to sugarcoat it.]
So, it is true, then...th-this seems to be how the Second remembers it as well.
[Tsubaki frowns. It'd been easy to brush it off as a lie when it was just Yuno saying it. But suddenly, coming from Akise, this seems a lot more credible. Even if she doesn't quite know how to explain it.
She sighs, staring at her own hand in front of her. The one Yuno insisted had been cut off...]
But my memories...obviously, they differ.
[Why, though? And what is she supposed to do now, just pretend like none of it happened? She doesn't know anymore, suddenly.]
no subject
right, he can take advantage of that if he goes about this carefully— he really doesn't want to make her any more upset than what would be inevitably natural from hearing you're not alive. ]
That's.. [ that's the part he doesn't know how to explain.. but if everyone else remembered it like him, that would make tsubaki the anamoly— so if something were wrong here, it would probably be with her if you considered things by odds alone. ] ...What's the last thing you remember?
no subject
There are more important things to consider.]
...Helping you. [That's...probably the long and short of it.] You were being chased by that Muru Muru, who came to my temple with you.
You were in danger in more ways than one, and...I wanted to pay you back for what you'd done for me. [Something more than just...showing her the outside world.] You did solve that case, Akise-kun.
[And that the girl was trying to erase his memories of it did not sit well with her. Even if he doesn't know it now, it's written all over her face that the case meant a lot to her.]
no subject
actually, yeah, that's bothering him right now— ] Muru Muru?
no subject
[Right. If he doesn't even remember coming to her temple, it would stand to reason that maybe he wouldn't remember his companion at all, either. She is staring at him, open mouthed for a moment, before she closes it and waves her hand.]
I...could not begin to tell you how you knew her. But evidently she was trying to erase your memories, and we could not let that happen.
[She puts a palm on her scroll, gently running her hand along it with a smirk.]
I could draw you a picture of course, but...
[.......practically.....blind...]
no subject
[ kind of wondering what he did to piss her off, although he was well aware that his course of action wasn't always agreeable with other parties . . . aka yes he's used to making some people mad, even if he wasn't a bad guy. on the contrary, he fancies the idea of making a lot of actual bad guys mad— it's the job of a detective to foil them, after all. ]
no subject
Because she's beginning to feel really useless now. She's good with details, usually, but...explaining such basic things is so strange to her, particularly when the events they remember are so different.
And she can't even say Muru Muru succeeded in erasing his memories--because if she had, he wouldn't remember anything at all.]
She was the one who gave me my scroll...which eventually became my diary. [Both a regular diary, and the one which gave her the power to see all.] But...beyond that, I'm not exactly sure why she came to visit me with you.
[A pause for breath; and to think for a moment.]
At the very least, it seems she decided not to follow me here...
no subject
Who exactly was she? Do you know?
no subject
Who exactly is Muru-Muru? That's actually a good question. All of these are very good questions, she realizes, and finally...she decides to write some of these down in her scroll, since there seems to be room for it now.
Of course she doesn't keep him waiting on a response. Once she writes down the question, she speaks as she tries to think over anything else notable that they've talked about.]
She didn't tell me much about herself I'm afraid, nor the other diary holders. But she is clearly related to the survival game in some way.
['Motive?
Saw Akise as a threat. Perhaps also related to Deus in some way?'
Hm. She did kind of seem like his assistant, right? She scribbles the last part, but isn't entirely sure about it.]
no subject
..Ah. I see. [ there's a lengthy pause before he chooses to speak again. ]
Thank you very much, Tsubaki-san. You've been a great help. If you ever need or remember anything, please contact me immediately. [ a slighter pause as he reaches to pull something out of his pocket. ] Do you know how to use this? [ he taps at his own SFC. ]
no subject
She's just doing the same thing she did back in Sakurami...
But the encouragement is nice.
When she taps his SFC, Tsubaki nods.]
Oh, yes--that. Someone showed me earlier...
It's a phone of sorts, if I understand correctly. [She hasn't really had a chance to mess with it yet.]
no subject
I'm going to share something with you. [ he fixates his attention to his sfc as though to actually use it rather than demonstrate with it, tapping at the buttons rapidly. he only stops when a ding sound surfaces from tsubaki's direction. ]
→ File transfer: welcomingbrochure.doc. Click to start download.
[ yeah i stole your format what of it. ]
no subject
But okay, she is listening. And when she hears the ding, she pulls out her own SFC and looks at what is on the screen. She has to pull it a little closer to her face, but once she reads it, she clicks the appropriate button to accept and waits.]
This is...
[She trails off, skimming the information. It seems to be a guide to...
To living. Here.]
This is a lot to remember. But thank you.
no subject
You can contact me at any time with this.
[ —and then he returns the device to his coat pocket, standing up shortly thereafter. he offers a hand to tsubaki with a smile, fully intent on helping her out of her seat. ]
no subject
[...staring at his hand for a moment, as she puts her own SFC away as well. And then upon finally realizing what he's waiting for, she takes it, timidly as if she's never done it before.
...The last time she did something like this, she was kind of kidnapped from her temple. By him. It was a good thing in the end, but still...
She's a bit wary.]
