⊙ hey, have you seen the blind girl in disguise—
Who: Tsubaki Kasugano & you
Location: The plaza and that general area.
Time: Mid-day?
Style: Whatever you like.
Status: Open!
I-I’m sorry—
[Tsubaki is wet, and visibly in a huff as she darts away from the stand. Something in between anger and embarrassment displays plain on her face; and it perhaps has to do with the local she can hear, laughing behind her as she goes, clinging to the towel that she’d been given like it was some lifeline. ‘It’ll work better than that shirt you just grabbed,’ he said—how was she supposed to know? She can barely see where she’s going, after all, which…okay, probably makes this whole running away thing a bad idea, but still.
—Heh!
Incidentally, he’d told her it was okay to keep the shirt as well, which was strange. But she didn’t question it at the time. She simply wanted to get to a quiet place to think for now, about exactly where she is and how she got there. Because this isn’t the Sacred Eye temple, is it?
That detective…Akise Aru. Somehow he’d set her free. There are no longer any mysteries tying her to the cult, forcing her to stay; and she was glad that she could repay him, at least in part. But at the same time, she didn’t think she’d be leaving so soon…
So where exactly did she wind up?
She doesn’t know, but she’ll find out. Even if it means maybe asking one of these many voices she’s hearing right now, the blur of faces around her…
Who are they all?]
(( OOC: so basically tl;dr, Tsubaki's kind of embarassed herself in front of a local and is looking for a quiet place to think. she has really poor eyesight so feel free to have your character run into her at any point during all this! ))

[He talks about it so casually—! She doesn't quite know whether to be impressed or...just baffled, or both. But she helps him find room for their food at least, when it comes; though the girlish giggling starts to grate on her nerves.
She's glad she's not forced to talk to them, and once they leave, he seems to resume the conversation seamlessly. It's not quite the direction she was hoping the conversation would go in, but she can't complain about more information.
Perhaps he'd be more willing to tell her more about what happened to him in time...]
Ah— [Right, the big coral he mentioned earlier.] So...you were able to recover upon your arrival, then.
[Sounds like there are a couple options, but...yeah, obviously she's not going to go see a creepy guy who'll have his hands all over her, if she doesn't have to.]
no subject
[He pops a piece of sushi in his mouth and swallows, not really needing to eat but not necessarily wanting to reveal that fact either.]
I touched the coral and was right as rain. I even found a roommate right away, though you can get housing of your own pretty easily if you want to. And like I said, it's all free.
no subject
I'm surprised no one's gotten suspicious at the hospitality of this place.
[The clothing certainly was free, too, wasn't it? It's hard to believe he isn't lying about all this.]
—but, if you were able to find a friend so quickly, I...I suppose that can't be a bad thing.
[She's used to living in isolation, really, with the exception of her followers, who she can't exactly consider 'friends'...
So honestly, she wonders what it's like. She wonders if she even wants to find out, as she takes a piece of sushi as well, timidly putting it into her mouth, as if she's wary of it...]

I'm not saying no one has, there's just not much that can be done I guess. But yeah, the people around here from other worlds are generally nice, though there's some you should watch out for. Mostly the doctors, come to think of it.
[He'd done a little research on the SFC, going through the network to learn about others who'd been forced to call Vatheon home. Most of the information was innocuous, but some people were just downright creepy. If there was a pattern to people getting pulled here, he certainly can't figure it out.]
no subject
Well, that makes sense, too. From what she's seen, people are relatively care-free, and with how greedy she knows people can be, she's not surprised some of them have gotten comfortable here. She sticks another piece of sushi in her mouth, a different kind this time—they are evidently very good—and then she lets out a sigh.
She is not surprised either, that there are people to watch out for. It is no different from home, though it will be rather inconvenient if she ever did need a doctor.
Hopefully, she won't.]
...I will consider that a warning, then.

To be honest, she would've really liked to write as much of it as she can in her scroll diary; so much has happened already, on her arrival here, after all.
But she can wait until a more appropriate time.]
Ah. Is that healing magic you speak of?
no subject
Uh, yeah! Sorry, is magic a common thing on your world?
no subject
[Honestly, she is not sure how to answer that one. By now, she's placed her diary scroll in the pocket of her new dress, thinking of how much further it allowed her to see. It certainly feels like magic, to her, but she wonders if it counts. Magic, or simply the will of God—
Of Deus?]
I would not go that far. But...I am familiar with it.
[She hopes to keep vague; and maybe redirect the question back at him as well.]
And your world? This... 'Aselia'?
no subject
[He ate another piece of sushi, using the time it took to chew it to think of a way to redirect the conversation away from him and his world. If "they" were watching - whoever "they" were - he didn't want to give them more information than they already had. Honestly, he should just tell her his suspicions about them being observed, but he didn't want to frighten her.
He eased his smile back on his face.]
So tell me a little more about yourself! What do you like to do for fun?
no subject
[She'd been expecting a little more than that, clearly. But far be it from her to blame him for being cautious. It isn't as if she fully trusted him yet, either; and light-hearted topic though it may be, it actually makes her think a little harder.
She'd never got much of a chance to think about what she liked to do for fun. Only what the Sacred Eye men did. And she wonders if it's even wise to be honest about it now.]
...I suppose like to write.
[The only thing that gave her joy, during all those years in the temple. Aside from the handball she'd so tragically lost, of course.]
no subject
Oh yeah? What kinds of things do you write?
no subject
Heh, admittedly, she hesitates a little less this time.]
I...I keep a diary.
[Well, she used to. About her followers. Though she supposes she'll have to find new people to write about, now.]
There's never an end to interesting things to be observed, really. [She looks around, not feeling quite up to putting any more food on her plate--though the smell is enticing.] I would think that is more true now than ever.
[Now that she's in a completely new place, cut off from her cult—
Free of her puppet strings.]
no subject
Is that what that scroll you have is?
no subject
[Without her followers, there shouldn't really be anything on there at all. But this place has been nothing but surprises, and she isn't exactly looking to be proven wrong.
She keeps it tucked away...]
no subject
[That's probably the way, slowly tell her everything so she doesn't get overwhelmed.]
no subject
And she's already been through a lot as it is.]
...
So there is a way to leave, after all. [Technically--?]
no subject
[He eats one last piece of sushi then motions to the waitress to bring boxes, having noticed Tsubaki had ceased eating. Might as well send this home with her so she'd have some food while she got settled.]
no subject
Thinking.]
One man... but, is he a more reliable source, than others you've met?
no subject
No idea, but I guess I'll find out when I talk to him.
no subject
...I wish you the best of luck, then.
[Though she has no clue who he may be speaking of. She has doubts it is anyone she knows...]
no subject
So did you want me to show you the housing office so you could get set up, or am I smothering you too much with my company?
[He asks with a grin, but if she says he's bothering her, he really will give her space, after making sure she has his SFC info in case anything happens. You never know.]
no subject
In the end...she looks away shyly, pretending to be captivated by something outside of the window.]
...With my eyesight as poor as it is, I would feel more comfortable with an escort. But—
[I-It isn't as if she wants to bother him. She can find someone else, if need be...]
no subject
It's no problem! Here, I can carry this for you too.
[He slips the bag of leftovers onto his arm and even offers his hand to help Tsubaki to her feet if she chooses to take it.]
We should find you somewhere to stay.
no subject
But either way, she does not object strongly to him taking the bag. Merely a somewhat suspicious look at him, and then at the bag...before she ends up following him regardless, like a lost puppy.
She doesn't particularly like it, but she'd have to deal, for now, until she can get her bearings here.]
I see there are many options to choose from, at least...
[Though she really has no idea whether the buildings they're passing are actually apartments/living spaces or not, oops. When's the last time she attempted small talk, anyway? Perhaps this is why she never does...]
