Seeing the Sights

Who: Sollux Captor and OPEN!
Where: Anywhere in the city! He's had a day to come down from the high recuperate from his surgery, and is out exploring and meeting new people.
When: Today.
Style: Starting in action, but open to prose
Status: Open

[Sollux is taking his first few steps alone out on the town, to explore his new home. He arrived blind, but now has two blue robotic eyes - something he needs to have a word with Equius about - and is enjoying a bit of independence after a while of being stuck in bed unable to do anything without assistance.]

[ And so she notes the marks. that helps her narrow down the point of his departure. But wasn't his vision fine when she left? No, wait. That was... well, that wasn't the blind Sollux. Not directly? She still had no idea what to make of his sudden appearance at the green sun with Aradia and the humans. They left before she could get an answer out of him as to how exactly he was there. ]

So are you from before our journey to the green sun then?

Oh. [This place certainly seems to have a hard on for taking people a moment before death... Kanaya wonders to her self if that may be some design of the mechanism that brings foreigners here. Then again, it seems that she is from further up the timeline than any of the others coming here. What if she died by some unknown means before arrival here? No, that sort of paranoia isn't exactly productive. ]

I was brought here a little bit after that. Are you aware of what happened next? I could fill you in.

[At least he really didn't have the same sword hanging over him that some of the others did.]

[At least here there's some good news of a sort to be shared. Way to many of her friends knew that they were only going to live as long as they stayed here in this place. Prepare for an info dump, buddy!]

You died, but for some reason you were only half dead. Instead of being stuck like the others in the dreambubbles, you were able to leave. You met with Aradia, who is alive and now apparently God tier, and together you went to the Green Sun. The meteor and two of the humans met up with you there. The humans joined us, and you and Aradia launched the meteor to the human's scratched session. The two of you decided to stay behind for some reason, and just after we left the sun is when I was brought here. You seemed fine last I saw you, though Jack was on his way to your position. Aradia seemed confident that she could slow him down and deflect him though? I hope this comes across as good news, knowing that things will be relatively nice for you should you go back.

Well for a moment there I thought I was going to stay with the two of you myself, but I was convinced to leave with the meteor. It was your choice to stay behind though, so I guess your thoughts on the matter will make more sense if you go back to that. I think you said something about relaxing with our dead friends and staying out of the affairs of the living?

[If I recall, she was typically the one who would solicit reprieves from your nonsense, so I don't know what happened. Kanaya ponders his question for a moment before accepting the change in conversation.]

So far things have been... awkward. A lot of the people here were taken moments before their deaths. It's not exactly easy to deal with people like Gamzee or Eridan, not after what happened in the veil.

Urggh. Don't even get me started there. Apparently Eridan and Karkat are flushed for each other. Neither of them have admitted it to me yet, I only found out because Nepeta let it slip.

I guess I don't really have a problem with their relationship, but I wish he would have at least told me. Karkat vouched for him. Told me that Eridan was repentant for his mistakes in the veil, that I shouldn't cull him again. At the time I trusted his warning. But now? Now I learn that his judgement in the matter is compromised. He didn't tell me about it, and now I'm not sure I can trust either of them.

[Kanaya sighs defeatedly]

I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he steps out of line I will deal with him. But if karkat's right, then we shouldn't have a problem. As for Vantas I'm just angry with him about withholding this all.

I know. I'm just worrying, and I probably shouldn't. If Eridan was going to be a problem I think we would have seen it by now. And if he was, what would we do? Cull him every five days until he's learned his lesson? Somehow I think we would all get a bit tired of that eventually.

[Though now that she's thinking of it though, that would solve the problem she's been having with finding a decent source of fresh food...]

I think I'd rather just ignore them both for now. I have enough drama in my life as it is.

Well, as a general rule I'd rather nobody had to be killed either. I just want us all to be safe. This place has given a lot of our friends a second chance that they wouldn't really get otherwise. I killed Eridan back in the veil, but...

[Kanaya really did not feel remorse for taking his life. It was a grim necessity. At the same time, the events in the veil never stopped haunting her.]

[In a small, hurt voice...]It had to be done.
