Seeing the Sights

Who: Sollux Captor and OPEN!
Where: Anywhere in the city! He's had a day to ~~come down from the high~~ recuperate from his surgery, and is out exploring and meeting new people.
When: Today.

[Sollux is taking his first few steps alone out on the town, to explore his new home. He arrived blind, but now has two blue robotic eyes - something he needs to have a word with Equius about - and is enjoying a bit of independence after a while of being stuck in bed unable to do anything without assistance.]

I don't think he's as different as he sounds...Darkleer is sweeps and sweeps older than any of us, after all. He's just had time to calm down and learn how to control his strength and become lots more mature! He looks after Equius and Gamzee, you know, and I think it's good for both of them. He's a very nice purrson all round and he's been very kind to me, you should make friends with him too!

[She nods and closes the book, tucking in back into a pocket.]

Okay! Is there anything in purrticular you'd like me to draw for you?

[Sollux looks at her doubtfully. He knows her opinion of Equius is a bit too rosy for his taste, so it's hard to give this credence] All I know is my Ancestor is really nervous of Equius, but he seems to trust Darkleer.

[He is a little unprepared for the question, and thinks for a bit, worrying his lower lip] Maybe one of me and Aradia and Feferi?

[She knows that she's rather biased in her view of Equius, but is also certain he's nowhere near as bad as Sollux sometimes seems to think he is.] He is? Hmmm...I'll ask Equius about it! And see if anything happened. Mister Psii doesn't remember he's allowed to say what he thinks about people sometimes, especially if they're highbloods, so maybe he's just annoyed at him fur some reason but can't explain why. But I'll make sure everything is okay with them. Mister Psii is too nice to deserve anyone making him nervous! Not even Equius.

You and Aradia and...ohhh! I can do that fur sure!! [From the way she beams at him, it doesn't look like the request is a complete surprise.]

He said Equius tried to do something to him, got inappropriate with him, because he was curious about Helmsman tech. [He shrugs uncomfortably] I'm not sure exactly what he did, though.

[He's blushing now at the look on her face] Yeah, okay.

Oh... Well, he would be curious about that, but it has to have been a while ago beclaws I wasn't around to hear about it. He probably didn't really realize what it meant to be a helmsman. [She gives out a long sigh.] And Mister Psii probably didn't realize he could tell him to stop, since Equius is a highblood, but Equius wouldn't realize that Mister Psii wouldn't stop him either. If it was you and he annoyed you he knows you'd have blasted him right across the city. But I'll talk to Mister Psii about it. There's no reason fur him to be continue being scared of Equius.

[She giggles and smiles even brighter.] Hmmm, can I maybe purrhaps say congratulations?

That's what I told Psiioniic, yeah. That Equius is just a-- pretty dumbass when it comes to blood, and he doesn't need to worry about me, because I can blast him. Anyway, I yelled at him about it, and I think he understands better, now. But if you want to talk to Psiioniic, that might help.

[He yellows] All three of us are matesprits, so...I guess? It's all pretty weird and new.

[Don't think she didn't notice what you almost called Equius, Sollux. ...she does appreciate the restraint in front of her, though.] That's right! ...please don't blast him too hard if you have to blast him, though. And I'm really glad you've managed to talk things ofur with him and come to an agreement! I'll invite Mister Psii fur tea some time and have a quiet talk with him about it then.

[Haha, he's so cute getting flustered over it.] I'm really really happy fur you! I'm so glad it all worked out! [Because she may have had a chat with Feferi about the whole situation before Sollux had even showed up again...]

I'll only blast him as hard as I have to, I promise. Do you and Psiioniic have tea a lot?

[Stop making him so flustered!!!] It's really not a big deal...

Oh yes! All the time! At furst when I arrived Signless took me in beclaws I wasn't doing furry well...and Mister Psii was staying there too of course, and one day I asked him to my respite block for a tea party and we had lots of fun! So we started doing it pretty often!

[She pats him on the arm, still grinning widely.] Okay, okay, if you say so! But I'm sure Aradia and Fefurry wouldn't agree!

That's nice. They seems to take everyone in. [He smiles and ducks his head a bit. Shit, this conversation is getting way too cute. He can't handle it.]

Heehee, they really do! Signless likes looking after everyone. He's been purrticularly nice to me, but I think it's beclaws my ancestor was his matesprit... He told me once that he always wanted a wiggler to look after, the way the Dolorosa looked after him when he was a grub. And he's really good at looking after people too.

[Nepeta is always happy to inject cute into every conversation she takes part in.]

[His jaw drops at this, not sure if that's gross or just completely WEIRD.] He wants to be a lusus?

Uh huh! Beclaws his own lusus was a troll and he's really fond of us younger trolls too...

Actually he's sort of already asked to be the one to look after me here. He said he knows he can't efur replace Pounce but that he'd really like to be my guardian. He's Karkat's too! [NEPETA KNOWS IT'S REALLY STRANGE but really, Sollux, after you've been on the receiving end of some Signless cuddles it's so hard to say no to the chance of more.]

[Sollux hmmms and watches her uncertainly. He doesn't need a lusus to take care of him, and he's a bit weirded out by the whole idea of having a troll for a lusus. But whatever, he knows other people were close to their lusi.]

That's nice, I guess.

Mmhmm. I always thought that if I met adult trolls I'd be so scared of them? But Signless just makes things better, he fixes things. I suppaws I really do feel safe with him, the same way I used to feel with Pounce...

[And Nepeta and Pounce de Leon were arguably two of the closest lusii and trolls. While the greenblood was fully capable of looking after herself, she still often found herself wanting someone to fuss over and comfort her when she needed it.]

...it really is weird, isn't it? But everything about being here is.

Yeah, they're not like we heard. Well, I guess some of them might be, but none of the ones I've met.

[He shrugs faintly] Whatever works for you.

The Grand Highblood is. He's pretty scary. And Dualscar is a little bit too but he's not that bad... But I like all of the others so far!

It does! I think being happy is the most impurrtant thing here, don't you? [She pats at his arm.] Do you want to come have some ice cream with me purrhaps?

Dualscar's not that bad? [Skeptical...]

...Okay, sure. Ice cream sounds good.

...next to what I expected, knowing Eridan? He really isn't. [When he's not molesting Sollux's ancestor's horns, that is.]

Yesss! We can get you something in red and blue! Come on, this ice cream parlour is this way!

[D o u b t f u l] He's not like Eridan? I would have thought he'd be like him, only a million times worse.

[He grins and follows her] Appleberry blast ice cream?

He's sort of like that, except not...he's a lot more serious than Eridan, he doesn't whine the way he does sometimes, and he's a bit scary really, but he seems furry...I don't know. Competent? He seemed to know what he was talking about when we were all investigating this horrible murder that happened a while ago.

Heehee, yes! Something like that! [She holds the door open for him and shoos him in, the sooner to get to her delicious sweet treat.]

Maybe because he killed the victim. [Cynical, it is him. But Eridan serious and not whiny sounds scary, rather than good. He shrugs faintly] What about his attitude? I mean, about lowbloods and stuff.

[He enters and peeks at the options, hmm]

Nuh uh, it wasn't him. We found out who it was afterwards. And it looked more like something the Grand Highblood might have done rather than a seadweller... [Oh. Yes. That...is a tricky question.] Well...he's a seadweller, from the past, an old seadweller. I think he's listening a furry little bit to Signless so far and that's already a lot coming from someone like him. He does think we're beneath him but at least he hasn't really done anything too bad.

[And then serious conversation is derailed as she plasters her face to the plastic window in front of all the different tubs of ice cream, exclaiming aloud at all the choice and how it all looks so yummy and oh her paws she doesn't know how to choose! ...this is the point at which Equius usually intervenes. It's also the reason she's rarely allowed to go buy herself ice cream unaccompanied.]

Huh.

[It's cool. He doesn't really want to talk about Dualscar that much, anyway. He facepalms at Nepeta and then starts pointing out different options, fully intending to wind her up more. She's hilarious!]

Sollux, Sollux, which do I get, I can't choose, oh no...

[Her eyes go wider and wider as she slowly slides down the plastic and ends up in a heap on the floor, her brain having gone into choice overload. She wants all of them and Sollux isn't helping!]
