[The mingle party for this month is slightly delayed, and it certainly isn't because Station Master had decided to wait for the perfect weather.

Today, the party is taking place on the island, where there are locals stationed out on the beach who're more than happy to toss you a kite and show you how to fly one in this breezy day. There are plenty of kites to choose from, ranging from the simple to the pretty to the more tentacular.

Further out along the beach are rows and rows of surfboards, with a sign. With those sweet waves, doesn't it make you want to get out there and ride them? ...Well, even if you don't, some locals will be quite insistent you try and look they're even willing to show you the ropes!

Away from the waves, however, is an outdoor barbeque, with locals cooking shrimp prawns, fish, hot dogs, skewers... anything you want. There's something for everyone, and if you want to be the cook, they'll happily shove over and give you space to be the Iron Chef of the Beach.

[Judging by her attire, Anya may have been on her way to other activities when one of the locals shoved this fish kite at her. But she figured, why not? She got a free thing, so she might as well give it a try.

You are of course welcome to admire and compliment her figure in that black bikini, but her attention is focused very intently on keeping her fish in the sky, so you may have to speak up.]

[Don't mind the casual wolf whistle as Marceline floats on by. The giant sunhat is a bit awkward, but she's definitely rocking a nice little black dress with a skeleton hand belt.]

[Anya hears the remark, but doesn't look over just yet.]

Oh, you know. You don't always know what things you're going to like.

It is a little strange. I feel like I should be singing.

Singing? Didn't know this was a musical.

Let's hope it isn't, unless you'd like to see some spontaneous combustion.

[Anya glances over.]

Speaking of which, isn't it a little sunny for you?

Ugh, yeah, it always is since they've started doing the concerts topside. But hey, so long as it's not direct contact.

[Shrug!]

The hat clashes with the dress, which sucks, but I can usually fling it off for my shows. They cover the stage.

Huh.

[Rather less combustable than vampires she's familiar with.]

It's not awful. You couldn't find the hat in black?

Noooope. At least not in that particular store. I'll probably go digging through the stores later, see if their fashion sense has improved instead of sticking fish and sea shells onto everything.

There are a few stores that don't run so much into the marine styles.

We could make a day of it.

Ooooh, I like the sound of that. I bet my girl Kanaya could point us in the right direction. She runs her own shop and stuff, pretty nice.

Really? Do many people do that here?

Frick if I know. But Kanaya works it, seriously. Most fashionable alien vampire I ever met.

Does she charge? Not that those starfish tokens are much like actual money, but if it's the closest thing we've got...

Yep. But I bet I can convince her to lower her prices a little.

Oh, that's not why I asked, although haggling can be fun. I used to own a shop.

It was called the Magic Box. Crystal balls and candles for the unbelievers looking for knick-knacks, spellbooks and ingredients for the practicing witches.

Sounds wicked. You know a lot of witches, huh?

They weren't always witches of much account, but they did make good customers.

Ha ha, niiice. I bet you and Kan could talk about a lot when it comes to getting money off of people. I definitely have to introduce you two.

[ Don't mind him just coming up when he catches sight of her, staying silent for a few moments before leaning in to all but murmur in her ear. ]

[Way to completely startle her. Hopefully she didn't elbow you in her sudden need to have a death grip on her kite. She looks over at him and relaxes just a bit.]

You shouldn't sneak up on people like that. I could have lost my flying contraption.
