Who: Mephisto, the Maid Cafe and
vatheon
Where: Near the forest
When: Early morning - all day
Status: OPEN
[ That topiary garden was most definitely not in the forest clearing yesterday but hey, it's up now and looks to be the sort that should have taken weeks to set up. There are rosebushes in both white and red (some of those red ones look red. How odd.) as well as several pieces of topiary shaped like leaping hares and mock turtles and dormice. Amongst the topiary in a clearing are white tables and chairs set for what seems to be for tea. The maids of the cafe are dressed in blue and lace, along with matching striped white and blue stockings and mary janes. It seems the Master of Ceremonies has chosen Alice In Wonderland as the underlying theme for the maid cafe's debut event.
The food is, as well, similarly themed. Tea comes with delicate little sugar rabbits. Pastries are adorned with tiny playing cards. Feel free to order whatever your little heart pleases.
Mephisto himself is seated in one of the chairs in the corner, eyes trained on the girls and any incoming would-be patrons. He's calmly sipping his tea, stirring in one of those sugar rabbits and looking quite pleased with the way things seem to have turned out. There's a small sign on his table that reads "Kleine Engel - now hiring".
When evening comes, paper lanterns begin to surround the parameter of the topiary garden and setup. Fireflies start to come out, adding a surreal glow about the area.
Care to take a load off? Have some tea and cake? Inquire about any open positions?]
[ ooc: SO! Due to quick plurk discussion, here is the maid cafe's initial open house/recruitment post. Feel free to use this as a mingle post, the maids can make their own threads, interested parties can reply to the recruitment thread, go wild. ]

RECRUITMENT
He'll be more than happy to address any potential applicants as well as any questions from his darling staff. ]
no subject
Did you plan all of this yourself?
no subject
Ah, my dear. I'm glad to see you've decided to join us.
[ Poofing up another cup of tea with two sugar rabbits and yes, that would be a pot of milk floating over. ]
How do you like it?
no subject
I believe it's thanks to my prince for awakening me from my slumber. Whomever he may be~! [Because she's sure someone came for her lovin'!
Grell isn't sure if he's talking about the decorations, or her tea, so she'll go with what's closer.] One sugar, three spots of milk, if you would. [She'll also take a seat across from him.]
no subject
And such a lucky prince to have woken such a fair maiden if you ask me.
[ Smirking back before taking another sip of his tea. ]
How have you been?
no subject
I've been well enough, I suppose. Although I'm not sure how well one can be after a coma. [She takes up a small pair of tongs for her sugar and adds one sugar rabbit to the beverage before stirring it in with a tea spoon.] Have I missed much?

saber then anna then mephisto!
Truth be told, Saber wouldn't mind another part job. The Defense Force was.. a duty, but it wasn't too fulfilling as there was little to do besides patrol.
The idea of a maid café, though? Yes, the theme and display was pleasant, but this wasn't quite Saber's.. cup of tea, so to say. Still, Annabeth and her had wandered here after meeting up in town and deciding to spend the afternoon together. Saber decided she could at least be a gentlewoman and be patient while Annabeth inquired about the possibility of a job.
Staying quiet as the two neared the man, Saber bowed her head once in silent greeting and then waited for Annabeth to do the talking. ]
Re: saber then anna then mephisto!
So when she spots the now hiring sign while with Saber, she's already open to the idea. Sure, it's a maid café. Sure, she'd rather fight a hundred monsters in the deepest pits of Tartarus than don a maid costume. But they were bound to have other jobs, weren't they? A café could not run on maids alone, even cute Alice-in-Wonderland-style maids.
They seem to be of one mind as they approach the slightly shady looking gentleman seated behind the table. Annabeth can't pinpoint why he seems slightly shady, but he doesn't seem to mean any harm and his establishment is certainly beautiful, especially at twilight. ]
Hello. I was wondering - do you have any jobs other than... waitressing?
no subject
It just so happens we've been lacking a bouncer these past few months before the flood... However, I'd like to know what you'd be interested in doing before I offer anything more.
[ As they approach, he makes a vague hand gesture which causes two chairs to float over and settle down in front of the table. Another hand gesture is just a simple motion for them to sit if they so please. ]
But please. Have a seat. May I offer you some tea?
no subject
I'm called Saber. [ The knight bows her shoulders and head slightly and then takes a seat in one of the chairs.
Saber won't accept or the deny the tea; she'll leave that one up to Annabeth. She has no idea how long they'll be staying. ]
no subject
When the chairs arrive, Annabeth's happy to take a seat and accept the tea for the time being, and she nods to their host in acknowledgement. Some social niceties may count towards them getting a job after all. ]
You'd make an excellent bouncer, Saber. I'd also be interested in that kind of position, sir. I'd be far more use to you in the arena of keeping out unwanted customers than in doing dainty work.
You don't happen to have two positions, do you?

Johann~
[ Barry smiled and walked over to Mephisto. ]
What a pleasure seeing you here.
no subject
There's a smile as he approaches, Mephisto raising his cup to him in greeting. ]
The pleasure is all mine, Barry. Come to take in the view or have you come for company?
no subject
[ Barry was of course looking straight at Mephisto when he spoke. ]
This is a rather interesting arrangement you have set up here.
no subject
[ Yes, good. Stroke your prince's ego. Royalty needs spoiling. ]
I thought it would lend a touch of elegance to my cafe if I drew inspiration from one of the world's classics. What better way to make an independent debut, after all...?
no subject
[ The smile pulled into a smirk. ]
The decorations are lovely.
Wont this be in opposition to Golden Victory? I've been there once or twice.
[ Not that Barry really cared one way or the other. ]

The outfits were cute, too.So, she found Mephisto. ]
Hello, Sir.
no subject
[ Mandatory teacup and two sugar rabbits for anyone who comes along to his company. ]
Now, what can I do for such a lovely young lady such as yourself?
no subject
Well ... I'm kind of looking for a job.
[ She smiles sheepishly. ]
I've been in this place for a long time, and I'm running out of things to keep me busy.
no subject
[ He seems to let go of the teacup in midair to fold his hands under his chin. The teacup doesn't fall however, but remains floating there as if waiting to be picked back up. ]
If you don't mind my saying, I believe you would make an exceptionally good addition to our staff.
no subject
You really think so, sir?
[ She tries not to look at the teacup, but it's kind of hard not to look at something that's floating there. She knows there are people with abilities like that in this place, so she's not really surprised. It's just not exactly something she's used to seeing. ]

[ Oh look, Meph. It's your stepmother. She's come to visit you. ]
Then again, I suppose I wouldn't expect anything less.

[ Looking up from his tea now. ]
Finally awake, I see Miss Egin. And how was your sleep?
no subject
[ Same old, same old. Let's keep the subject off of me and put it on you again. ]
So then, is this little event about finding more staff for the place?
no subject
[ Sipping his tea, motioning for a chair to float over for her. ]
Would father come rampaging in protest were I to ask for you to join us?
