[GV] - 2 - A pirate's life for me

The host club Golden Victory was closed for the last two days to facilitate a change of theme. When its doors reopen on the first, the change from the upscale classy atmosphere of last month is dramatic. The interior is now decked out to the theme of a pirate ship. There's rigging along the booths at the walls and the bar has been done up to look like an exotic market. Fruits and nuts have replaced the bowls of peanuts that had graced the bar top and the herbs and spices cast a pleasing aroma over the entire club floor. There is a small Help Wanted: Bartender. Contact Zelos for Details sign on the bar but it's oddly hard to spot, partially obscured by various bits of decor.

The hosts themselves have been given opulent pirate attire to go with the theme! Each, of course, has been allowed to add little details of their own to the uniform as long as it fits with the theme, and of course lets not forget the hats. The host list is, as ever, placed by the door for the customer's perusal next to the posting of the rules.

[Meanwhile Shirley wasn't too sure if she wanted to talk to Roxas about what happened. It seemed like it was a little bit too early but another part of her wanted to see how he had been doing. If Vanitas was indeed his brother, then of course he would have a lot on his shoulders. However, he had mention that he was getting along with him so something wasn't quite right.

[Sora's wandered off for the moment, and seeing someone approaching out of the corner of his eye, Roxas thinks it might be him returning. He glances over just as she's turning away.]

Shirley?

[...shoot. Maybe he shouldn't have said anything. If she's walking away, she probably doesn't want to talk to him.]

[And when she turns out, she lets out a soft smile. Well, it's too late to turn back now]

It's been quite a while since I last arrived here, hasn't it Roxas?

I guess it has.

[It's been about a month now that he thinks about it. But honestly that month went by pretty quickly for him.]

Were you looking for somebody?

[shirleyhopeful]

Yes, I was looking for you.

[Pause]

I wanted to see if you were feeling okay.

[coolerthansora]

Feeling okay?

[Excuse him, he's going to play dumb for a minute. Like that ever works.]

Why wouldn't I be feeling okay?

[Don't make Shirley say it]

After what happened with Vanitas, I wasn't sure if you might be feeling depressed.

[But she let a small sigh] It seems that I might be wrong!

[He looks down at the hat in his hands.]

You heard about all that?

Yes, from Rin.

Was I not suppose to hear it? I'm sorry if I wasn't, I was curious about Vanitas and I wanted to talk to him but... [mumble mumble]

No, I guess- he did kind of announce...

[Wait. She wants to do what? His head snaps back up.]

You can't talk to him.

I wasn't planning to.

At least, not yet, I want everything to settle down first before I do.

I don't think it's a good idea. You could get hurt, or...

I am scared of dying but I am more worried about not being able to do a thing against Vanitas.

You don't need to do anything against him. It's not your fight.

But what about you? What will you do?

I'm... just going to be smarter about it.

[Because doing the same thing she wants to is smart? Who knows.]

I didn't take it seriously enough when people warned me about him.

Can...or rather...could I ask what happened between you and Vanitas?

[coolerthansora]

[Roxas just looks confused at her question.]

I thought you heard everything from Rin.

[shirleyhopeful]

Not quite.

Rin mentioned how Vanitas wanted to kill you so you could be stronger but I was curious how you know him.

[coolerthansora]

Um... [He doesn't really want to get into that crazy explanation.]

That was the first time we met.

[shirleyhopeful]

[Please excuse Shirley as she stares at you for a moment]

...Are you saying that he wanted to kill you just because...? [Another pause] Rin did say that you were a part of him too but...I thought that meant he was your brother.

[coolerthansora]

My-

[That's what she was thinking? Roxas shakes his head, waving one hand.]

Rin's- got things mixed up. Me and Vanitas aren't related. [At least, not like that, and not that closely.]

Sora's my brother.

[shirleyhopeful]

Ah...

[oops]

I'm sorry, it seems that I was wrong! My bad!

[but wait...]

Then can I ask exactly how you and Vanitas are half of one another? If you want to explain that is.
