She stood there, paralyzed in shock as the witch loomed in for the kill. All she did was blink. One blink and she wasn't staring death in the face anymore. She wasn't in the Witch's Barrier with Madoka and Sayaka, who were witnessing how once a powerful Puella Magi fell to her doom. Mami gave a start, finally noticing how soaked her Puella Magi outfit was. Even changing back into her school uniform did nothing to dry her clothes nor her hair.

'I'm... alive?' was the first thought that came to mind. She turned to look around at her surroundings, not recognizing each building, each little store she saw. What made the sight more odd was the glowing coral in the middle of everything. Mami felt a slight tingle at the back of her left hand, giving a gasp when she saw a mark of some sort on her skin, like she was branded by someone.

No, this wasn't a work of a witch. Her Soul Gem would have reacted to the changes, gone crazy at all of this. So, if this wasn't a witch then...

"Where on earth... am I?"

The city is quite unpredictable to say the least. Why we've been brought here and how is still a mystery in itself. But all that aside, are you alright?

Oh dear... Pardon me. [She'll be digging around in her pockets for a hanky but it seems that one is soaked too..]

We should get you a change of clothes and afterward you should come by the clinic. I'm certain there's some vitamin C tablets and some tea I can give you...

[She flushes in embarrassment but Mami was still a picture of poise. She gratefully accepts the handkerchief, blowing her nose daintily on it.]

Ah yes. That would be splendid. I apologize for troubling you right away, sensei.

Not in the least. A physician's duty and all that.

[ One minor glance and... ]

I'm certain there's something in the city in your taste. Most items here are free, after all... what we need to get by at least.

For free, sensei? My, how convenient. By most, you mean, there are things here that need some kind of currency?

We aren't charged for basic commodities: food, clothing, shelter, the like. However, if we wish to acquire something from home... or at least from some homes. The stores in Nostalgia Nook require something called Starfish Tokens.

They seem to be the only form of currency.

[Mami nods her head, listening intently to the good doctor's words. It seemed to be vital information to be remembered.]

[She was about to say more when she feels another sneeze come on, promptly turning her head away and sneezing into the handkerchief that was given to her earlier.]

Oh goodness! [sniff] Pardon me...

No pardons necessary. Come then. It would be best if we were to get you out of those clothes and into something dry.

[ For now, you get a trenchcoat handed to you, Mami. It's the least he can do. ]

[Mami takes it gratefully and shrugging it on.]
