I'M IN UR HOUSE, STEALIN' UR ITEMZ
Who: Dark Link and anyone else
Location: IN UR HOUSE, BREAKIN' YOUR STUFF (No seriously. Whoever responds, respond as if he's broken into your residence)
Time: During/after the party on the beach
Style: Anything, I'll match
Status: Open!
The ground was wet.
It was an odd distinction to make from the ground he had expired on. That had been wet too, but covered in an inch or two of water, not simply slick from the puddle that was expanding from under his back.
Dark Link sat up to an empty square. He didn't recognize his surroundings, but that wasn't strange since he'd never really been anywhere at all. Funny, it didn't look like what he'd imagined the Spirit Realm to be, though he hadn't expected to end up in the Spirit Realm at all since, if his master was truthful, he had no spirit to go anywhere.
But then how am I alive? He must have revived me after he defeated Link himself, that's got to be what happened. I failed him, but he's given me another chance! The chance to take the place of the hero, just like he said! He lurched to his feet, a little unsteady but gaining his footing quick enough. Thank you, Master! I won't let you down this time; I'll become the hero like I was meant to!
After all, there always had to be a third section of the Triforce, and with the original Link dead, that left a great, wide opening for this Link to fill.
His black leather boots scuffed across the ground as he threw open door after door to shops and houses, anywhere he could find, breaking pots (trash bins) and hacking down plants (people's garden's and city landscaping) all the while as he wound his way through Vatheon. If he was going to be the hero, he had to be equipped!

Sorry Link, but that's a sandal being thrown at your head from behind. She's got good aim, too.]
If you're new here, there's a nicer way to get stuff.
no subject
Give me the other one!
no subject
[She extends a hand.]
How about this? You give me back mine and we'll get you your own pair.
no subject
You're supposed to tell me to bring it somewhere so I can get a different item!
no subject
Well.
Okay.]
... alright then.
Bring it back to me and you'll receive the location of wonderful place where you can get items for free.

[She nods! And taking the sandal back, she slips it on her other foot before pointing with her other hand in the direction of the marketplace.]
If you ask nicely, the people will give you what you want for free. Will that make you stop hacking things up now?
no subject
Well I'll go ask but the items you get in shops and the items from houses are totally different. Of course you wouldn't know that, though. Thanks for the directions, anyway.
[And just like that he turns heel and walks out, leaving Saya to clean up the mess he's made of her house.]
no subject
No problem. But here, I'll go with you! I need to stop by there for something anyway.
no subject
You're not supposed to follow me, I already have a sidekick!
[He points to the glowing blue ball of his fairy, seeming to take a childlike delight at its presence.]
no subject
And there he was. It was dark and her vision was slightly blurred, but it was unmistakeable. His silly hat, his tunic, Navi following along right behind him, that same voice calling out as he tossed things against whatever surface was handy...
"Link?" she whispered, her voice catching. She wasn't supposed to see him, not ever again. She'd sent him to another time. But if Vatheon granted her this, she might just abandon her attempts to return home.

He froze, vase in hand and unthrown in the darkened apartment he'd barged into a moment ago. It was a voice he had never heard before but somehow knew as well as his own or his master's, a voice that shook him to his core.
Her voice.
Zelda's voice.
Link's Zelda. His Zelda, now.
He turned towards her, still in the shadow of the unlit room, and knew her face in an instant. His heart swelled and he dropped the vase, letting it shatter on the floor unheeded, arms outstretched to his princess.
"I didn't even have to find you. You came to me." Even his voice was smiling.
no subject
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I should have asked, I should have at least waited for you to recover, I..." The princess looked up at him and put a hand on his cheek, smiling so hard that it hurt.
And that was when she saw an unfamiliar red glint in his eyes, the contrast in their skintone that was never there before. She froze, smile still etched eerily in place.
no subject
He smiled just as widely, not noticing the rigidity suddenly present in her posture and the abrupt strained quality in her expression, and closed his eyes.
Everything will be alright now.
no subject
He had tricked her.
In a sudden blur of motion she leapt away from him, the mark of the Triforce of Wisdom glowing brilliantly on the back of her left hand.
"What are you?" she spat.
no subject
"What do you mean? I'm Link."
no subject
"You are not Link. You are some sort of magical construct of Ganondorf's. Tell me your purpose."
Zelda kept backing up, trying to put as many obstacles between her and that thing as possible. If he was like Link, he was limited mostly to physical fighting and short-range attacks. He would have to change weapons to attack her at this range, and she would be ready.
no subject
"I am Link, that is my purpose."
no subject
She didn't care anymore if the whole city knew what she held, she had to know. The Triforce responded to her sheer desire to find out what the creature before her was. A blast of golden light shot out from her hand, washing over him harmlessly but sending information back to its bearer.
Yes, he was certainly a piece of Ganondorf's magic. All shadows and deceit, but based on Link of all people! The very idea was revolting. She couldn't bear to be around it anymore. Shaking, she activated the magic that transformed her into Sheik, leaping out the window and running away as fast as possible.
no subject
When he opened his eyes, however, she was gone.
"Zelda?"
He tore around the hollow apartment, overturning tables, opening every door, and finally ran back out into the streets, out of breath and desperate, feeling more alone than he'd ever felt in his very short existence.
She had denounced him, unnamed him. In only a few words, Zelda had taken any identity he had to cling to and thrown it in the gutter.
"You are not Link!"
It echoed in his mind, playing over and over like some grotesque slideshow. Her face, her fear and rage, her disgust.
"You are not Link!"
And he wasn't, not really. He was made to look like him, fight like him, think like him, but all that made him was... what? A fake? A replica? A shadow?
"You are not Link!"
He stopped in the middle of the road, looking sightlessly down the darkened streets of the city into which Zelda had vanished, taking the answer to the most important question with her.
"Then what am I?"
no subject
Well, if you could count "rushing in like a madman" as "surprised", anyway. The sound of destruction in her own abode certainly wasn't very reassuring either! Jane grabbed the first thing she could use as a weapon (in this case, a broom) and yelled at the intruder.]
What are you doing in here!? Get out!
[swinging at him--!!]
just fyi, he only could dodge because she yelled first
But somehow he did.
Even stranger still, he ended up standing on the brush end and didn't weigh it down more than a shadow.
He drew the sword from his back, a black blade which didn't seem to suck in the light as much as radiate darkness, and pointed it at her from his perch.]
I'm looking for treasure. Stand aside!
that's A-OK! o7
And of course, when she saw that, he would very quickly find himself looking down the barrel of her gun as well.]
If you think I'm just going to stand by and let you rob me, you've got another thing coming, pal.
no subject
He steps back to the ground, landing lightly with his sword still in the same position.]
Rob you? I'm just looking for quest items!
[This girl really needed to get with the program. Unless...]
What's that weird thing you're holding, anyway?
no subject
Why are you pointing a sword at me if you're not trying to rob me!? You weirdo!
[She let the broom clatter to the floor, although her aim didn't waver in the slightest. This...sure was a standoff.]
If you don't stop pointing that thing at me, you just might find out the hard way!
no subject
[He practically placed his nose into the barrel, lowering his sword as he examined the odd contraption of metal and wood. It smelled like bomb flowers.]
no subject
Yes, it's a weapon! And if it had gone off while you were doing that, you'd be dead!
[Well, maybe. This guy definitely wasn't normal (for lack of a better word), after all. She put her hand on her forehead as if she felt a headache coming on that very second.] Geez...
no subject
[He advanced as she stepped away, curious about the weapon stick she carried. What if this was a key item? What if he needed it to complete his quest? Once he figured out what that was, but details are details and can be left until later.]
Show me! [His tone was imperious, demanding.]
no subject
You wouldn't be able to use it anyway!
[ARMs were finicky like that, and she really doubted that he was from Filgaia. ...Not that she would hand it over to him in the first place.]
Feel free to kick his butt, he's asking for it, lmao
I'm the chosen hero of the Goddesses, I can use anything I set my hands on!
[And as if to prove it, he set his hand on top of the barrel of the gun.]
Got it! By the way, is it okay to assume that he broke the door lock on his way in?
[Jane rolled her eyes at first, but that disappeared the moment he rested his hand on her weapon. That made her quite the unhappy camper; in fact, she was so unhappy that she aimed a kick where the sun didn't shine. With heels on.
Hey, she never said she would play fair.]
Yeah, that's fine. He's a Hylian tornado~ lol
Just like that, Dark Link was down for the count, curled into a ball and wailing with his hands cupped under his tunic. It was all he could do to choke out a single word.]
"Why?!?"
\o/
If I explained exactly why we'd be here all day. I really hope you've at least learned not to break into people's homes, because otherwise I'm going to roll you out the door!
[He was curled into a ball, after all.]
no subject
I was just looking for rupees!
no subject
Do you always point a sword at someone when you're looking for these 'rupee' things?
no subject
If they get in my way...
no subject
What will you do if they do get in your way, then? Whatever it is, you'll have to accept the consequences, y'know.
no subject
U-uh.. well... I just figured people would run away. [Fiddles with the tissue in his hands uncomfortably.]
no subject
Well, you're going to have to figure it out quick, because I'm not planning on running away.
no subject
[He gathers up his sword and shield and, if she allows it, he's gone without another word, walking out the door with a bit of a bow-legged gait.]
no subject
[She just let him go. Although she did let out a soft snort once she saw that gait of his.]
