Who: Dark Link and anyone who comes across him

It hurts...
Not the park bench to the face, though that had dislocated his nose and given him two black eyes, causing him to look like a raccoon until he discovered Vatheon's version of a fairy's fountain, the coral.
No, he was fine now, physically, and he was safe here, camped out under the trees, even if his sword and shield had gone missing. What hurt was something else.
She knows everything. She knows about Hyrule, and magic, and everything I don't.
He fought to put the breaks on that train of thought, terrified of what lay around the next cognitive bend. But, as trains do, his thoughts rolled irrepressibly onward.
What if she's right? What if I'm not Link?
A long pause as his whole being fought tooth and nail to keep away from the looming question.
...if she's right, then what's the point of me?

My master couldn't make my hat work right, but I have some stuff here that I've found.
[Dark Link crawls on hands and knees to a nearby bush and produces several small piles of knick-knacks and bric-a-brac that he's retrieved from around the city. Four bottles (one filled with bugs), some figurines, random bits of jewelry, some strangely shaped rocks, a few keys of varying types, and someone's doormat with some kind of treasure map motif printed on it all number among things he's collected since his arrival.]

You know, on my world, we have these things called sylladexes, where we can carry everything we need with us on our person, and not be weighed down. Perhaps I can talk to a friend of mine and see if he can make one for you.
[Not that Darkleer is exactly a friend, but he's persuaded him to be helpful before, and if all else fails, he's not above recruiting Gamzee's help.]

[Dark Link's excitement is almost palpable. A way to make his hat work! He's one step closer! Signless must be a Sage, sent to help him on his quest.]

[Signless laughs at Link's enthusiasm.]
I'll see what I can do. I don't even know if sylladexes can be made, but if they can, my friend will know how to do it.
[Moving slowly, so as not to startle the child, Signless pulls out his own sylladex. When it opens, it asks him a riddle similar to a Zen koan, and he answers it smoothly, pulling out a few small items and showing them to Link before putting them away. The last one he retrieves is a flower, which he offers to the boy before putting the sylladex away.]
Is that something you would like?
Sweet~ I'm prolly gonna head to bed after this post, actually. Work is gonna hate me tomorrow.
[Probably not, truth be told. He has a very simple mind. He does look absolutely delighted at being freely given the flower. A sage is giving him an item. It must be incredibly important!]

Well, mine asks riddles, but you can set them to whatever you like. One friend of mine has one that works with colors and lights, for example. It would be up to you to decide how you wanted to retrieve your items.
[He reaches out and gently pats the back of Link's hand.]

Do you think there's one where you just think of the item and it comes out? That's how Link does it. Or maybe something with a grid!

A grid, hmmmmm... I've seen ones like that before. Perhaps with a simple puzzle of moving things around to access the item?

I love puzzles! Sliding puzzles are good, but my favorites are ones where you have to jump on a switch and then run as fast as you can to get around the room to get the item or the door before the switch deactivates. Lighting the torches is good too! Especially when you get a key or a heart piece for it.

A nice way to show your gratitude is to say 'thank you.' And then I'll say 'you're welcome,' and everything will be friendly and polite.
[It would look snarky, written down, but he says it with such warmth in his voice that it would be very difficult to mistake it for anything but a teacher gently guiding a student.]
