[On the Prowl]

[Otoha stands on the top of one of the tall buildings in the middle district, looking out over the city, black trenchcoat flapping out behind him. He can't help but miss his city, the one he's tied to, but there's work to do here, too.]

[Adjusting his sword, he leaps onto another building, and then another, making his way to the ground level. Once there, he starts running through the streets, eyes alert and watching for any sort of criminal or dangerous activity.]

[Every so often, he jumps back up to the rooftops, making sure that there's no one there, either.]

[So if your character's out tonight, they'll probably catch a glimpse of something dark racing past them. If they're sharp, they might even see that it's man-shaped. And if they can detect spiritual activity… they'll find that there's a sealed beacon of power jumping from place to place.]

[Missile sees all! ... Well, not really, but he did see that there was someone or something running past him.

There is now a barking ball of fluff trying to chase after Otoha.]

[... He stops, turns around, and looks down at Missile.]

Hey there, boy.

[Oh, it's just Otoha!]

HI, OTOHA! [Yip!]

[He is going to crouch down and offer pets, if he will have them.]

What are you doing out here so late at night?

[welcomedog]

[Missile will gladly accept the pettings!]

Oh, I got a little bored so I felt like walking around for a while! There's so many interesting smells out here!

[He's not the only one looking out over this city. Izaya's been poised very carefully on the absolute edge of one of the higher buildings, crouched low with a pair of binoculars up to his face.

He's gazing along when the very blur of something catches his eyes and he lowers his binoculars for a wider range of sight. Is it coming near him?

Izaya hangs the binoculars from his hands and watches, his eyes bright and curious. Amused]

[It is, in fact, heading near him, because he caught the flash of something - yes. He keeps hopping from building to building, stopping at the one next to Izaya's. He stares for a minute, waiting to see what he'll do.]

[Izaya lowers said binoculars and quirks a brow, a faint smirk lifting up his mouth even further. He stands up on the edge of his building and looks around slowly for a moment.

After carefully consideration, he leaps off and those parkour skills get used instantly as he pushes off his building onto the next. Scaling up the side, he effortlessly lifts himself over the very edge and drops down onto the rooftop that this stranger's on.]

Yo.

[A wave and he stands up right entirely.]

Don't think I've seen you around too much.

[bakegarasu]

[Nice. He's seen very few people who can jump around like that. He watches, keeping his face neutral, before Izaya speaks to him.]

Hey.

[There's a tiny little bit of a smirk at that.]

That's not surprising.

Ehehe. Why's that? Keep it low?

[He slides his hands into his pockets and walks slowly towards this stranger, tilting his head entirely to the side.]

Does that explain the little show I just saw a bit of~? How impressive, might I add. What are you? Some kinda monster?

[And finally directly in front of him.]

Oi! Watch it! [All Silver got was a blurr, but it's enough for him to turn and face the direction it with a scowl --

And his hands going to his pocket/belt to make sure that yes, everything is still there.]

[There's a chuckle, and the blur stops and turns around to stare at Silver.]

You shouldn't be out this late.

Tch. Why not? [A snort and a slight smirk as he shoves hands into pockets.]

Late night's when dangerous folks come out. Someone your age should still be in bed.

[And there's an outright scoff - he's 17, not some kid, though it is amusing that many adults think he can't look after himself and a bit of a smirk there too.] What's to say that I can't defend myself?

[ Locking up late has always been a habit of his. Somehow, he always chanced upon the most interesting things when he did. The citizens of Vatheon were night prowlers, it seemed. He made more friends this way.

Tonight was no exception.

The energy pings him, that power makes him tingle the slightest bit. It calls to his senses. So he's going to ever so casually follow that beacon out of personal curiosity.

Stealth wasn't really on the list. After all, how easy was it to spot a completely white-clad doctor at night? ]

[The beacon seems to stop on a roof, where Otoha has paused to gather his breath. He couldn't feel the pain in his chest, of course, but his harsh breathing was a sign to stop for at least a few moments.]

[Spiritual, huh? Well, while you're running along in the streets of yours, there's a large crash, as if something large fell from a very high distance.]

[Come closer to where the sound was, and there's an alleyway, with a ton of what looks to be like a huge pile of wooden boards broken on the ground. There are no windows above it, but if you look up to the rooftop, there seems to be movement before it disappears from view.]

[Investigate?]

[He instantly turns and heads towards the sound of the crash. Keeping a hand on his sword, he walks into the alley, raising an eyebrow at the boards on the ground. The movement from above catches his eye, though, and he jumps at one wall of the alley, pushes off to land against the other wall, and scrabbles to grab the fire escape before climbing up and trying to follow the movement.]

[When you get up there, the place is oddly deserted except for several building materials and machines where a crew had been working on fixing a few holes in the top of the dilapidated building. hey wait, there's another large pile of wood. Perhaps somebody is hiding behind it.]

[But if you get closer to it, a chainsaw that is on the ground in front of it will suddenly roar to life, though nobody was around to touch it. It will certainly cut you if you get too close.]

[How strange...perhaps something supernatural is at work here.]

[That's... highly unusual. He frowns, and tries to see if he can tell if there are any demons around.]

[... No luck. Unfortunately, without Yurine here, he's more or less powerless to slip between the worlds.]

[Shit. He takes out his sword and prods at the handle of the chainsaw, trying to get it around so that he can turn it off.]

[ Way to make someone very nervous. Naoya jerks as he sees that dark thing racing past him. He spins on his heel on pure instinct, then, without hesitation, gives chase. He does not draw his own sword yet, but he keeps a hand on it as he tries to keep up and follow the thing wherever it is going. ]

[He looks over his shoulder, and tries to circle around, attempting to get behind Naoya. He doesn't quite recognize him yet, but he does recognize that shape of a sword.]

[ Naoya does his best to keep the thing in sight, turning around in a quick circle when he loses it. ]

[As Naoya turns, he'll see the shape running towards him, sword out in a defensive position.]
