Who: Rita Mordio, Open
Where: Central Plaza (possible moving to ensue
When: March 2nd, 2012
Style: Third person prose
Status: Open!
Another day, another arrival, so it seemed. A teenage girl, dressed in red with hair of red. Soaked, as it always was with newcomers. This one seemed freaked out as she looked around - as often happened.
"What on earth? This... I've never been here before. And I shouldn't just... Wait, how did I... Why am I wet?!"
And then, she looked to find someone to get answers from - a sensible first reflex, really. Though she looked to be not just confused, but angry - which could cause problems...
Who would be the first to chance it talking to the latest newcomer to Vatheon?

Should I feel horrible :|a
..... Can Duke make an escape now?
Unlikely; a sudden turning to leave the plaza would just draw attention even more, so he's just going to see if he can be as quick about his purchase as possible and maybe the irate young mage won't notice the blob of white and red moving about the corner of her vision.
Re: Should I feel horrible :|a
No such luck, Duke. Rita's reaction was aimed right at you, and she's looking directly at that can't-miss-it white hair.

"There are free towels at a vender nearby." To fix your soaked wet status.
And no, he didn't turn around when he said that, he's studying supplies.

"Vatheon." A pause, and almost an after thought, although the fact that he turned enough to inspect her reaction may give a hint that it wasn't really so. "Not anywhere on Terca Lumireis."

The second sentence threw Rita off visibly. And for some reason she didn't question it when Duke said it. He didn't seem to be joking.
"Wait, what?"
no subject
"This is nowhere upon Terca Lumireis. There are few here who are from our lands, far more are from places with names far more alien; I have met one of 'Sylvarant' and 'Tethe'Alla', a woman who said she was 'Hylian', a being called a 'Lombax'." From here... where does he go to get back to that forest. . . .

Rita paused. "I guess I should... Uh... Okay, I've got no clue."

"Hello? I think I can help, if you'd like," he said simply as he approached. He'd had all sorts of responses to his offers of help over the months, so now he was a little cautious, even if he looked utterly unruffled.

"... Who are you and where is this? Quickly."

Heat?
But when he approached, a small bag of various plant seeds and beans in hand, it was pretty obvious the stranger wasn't his comrade; there was a pretty big height difference, for starters. The shop had blocked most of the other tell-tale signs that this redhead wasn't one he knew. But she looked a bit lost so...
"Do you need help?"

Boy? I'm taller than you!Serph was unperturbed by the stranger's obvious annoyance; many people who arrive in Vatheon arrive confused and wary at being in unfamiliar territory. Her words definitely identified her as a newcomer then. His answer was calm and his words spoken evenly. "This is a city not of your world called Vatheon. You have been pulled here, like many others."

So, instead, he answered her second question by gesturing towards the massive coral in the centre of the Plaza.

Serph dug out a brochure from his pockets and held it out. It's a bit creased and folded, though, and didn't actually say anything about fairies. "This will explain more."
Why verbally explain everything when he's got a piece of paper that can do all that for him?

But today, she wouldn't make it to the library. No, today was different. She paused mid-step as she saw a very familiar sight ...
And then her entire face seemed to light up as she called out to the younger girl.
"Rita!"
She'll start waving when you turn around, Rita.

Rita turned towards the Princess, looking a little surprised. Wasn't she in Zaphias right now?

Estelle ran as quickly as she could over toward Rita, not even caring that she was totally drenched. She threw her arms around the smaller girl and hugged her tightly.
She hadn't seen her good friend in a few months, after all. She was happy to see her!

Glomp. Whatever Rita was about to say, the sudden outburst of emotion on Estelle's part caused her to forget it.
After an awkward second, she hugged back.

She had really missed her. A lot more than she could express. She had made a lot of friends in this place already, but she missed the people she knew and loved back home as well.

Finally, Rita managed to get an actual question asked. Once the surprise factor was gone, she was very, very worried...
no subject
"You ... might want to sit down, Rita."
Though she knew Rita would probably handle the news better than a lot of other people have.
