And suddenly, falling over is the most terrifying thing in the world
Characters: Luke and YOU
Location: Around Vatheon
Time: Early Afternoon
Style: Starting in action, but either is fine!
Status: Open!
[ So, Luke has been here for a few days now. Mostly, he's been keeping to himself and hanging around Guy's place, but with the recent curse he's decided to go out and...well, honestly, he's not really sure why he's out and walking around. Guy was pretty cranky, and Luke was pretty sure he wasn't going to stand for his staying-on-the-floor shenanigans.
So, here he was, out and about. He looks rather frazzled, and keeps looking to the ground nervously. Why was he out again? Because, this is a terrible idea. Probably one of the worst idea's he's ever had, and oh god, oh god he's going to fall over for sure, and--
Luke stops quite suddenly, and slowly
Very, very slowly
He lowers himself to the ground, and just lies there. After a moment, he seems to try and drag himself along, but he gives up on that pretty quickly. Seriously, it wasn't worth it. He was perfectly happy lying where he was, safe and on the ground. So...yeah, it doesn't really look like he's going to move any time soon. ]

Maybe.
Hopefully. ]
Hey, I'm not napping. I'm just...taking a break until I feel like walking again.
[ Yeah, he'll go with that. It's better than saying 'I don't want to walk because it's scary', anyway. ]

[Sigh. Here's hoping Guy wouldn't hear a story like the one from last night...]
You know, there's a bench right down the street. [He gestures with a tilt of his head at the seat sitting right at the edge of the cobblestone.] You don't have to lay on the ground.
no subject
Yeah, but I'm happy right here. I mean, the benches are so far away...
and really high off the ground.
no subject
Alright, something's not right here.]
What's so wrong with being high off the ground?
[He'll slowly lower himself down to sit next to the redhead now. No use towering over him if there's a problem.]
no subject
Falling over, Guy. That's what the problem is. I just...don't want to fall over.
[ There, he said it. Happy? ]
no subject
[He cuts himself off. Wait. Wait, wasn't that Eridan kid complaining about the same thing earlier...?
Huh.
...
S l o w l y starting to piece things together...]
This is why you were on the floor last night, wasn't it?
no subject
Yeah, that's right.
no subject
You're just frightened of falling over, then, huh?
[Wow. Strange, but better than being too lazy to walk or too proud to get onto his bed.
At least Guy could exhale and just blame this little incident on the curse. He'd already seen a couple other people dealing with sudden phobias. And he knew for a fact that Luke hadn't had this problem before. Goodness knows he climbed enough trees at the manor to shatter that idea.]
Were you planning on going home anytime soon? I'm sure the ground isn't too comfortable.
no subject
[ Honestly, Luke can't wait for this to pass. It was a pain, and was making getting around needlessly difficult. Actually experiencing a phobia really put things into perspective, and he has to wonder if this is the kind of thing Guy goes through whenever women are around. ]
Well, I was, but...[ He pauses, sighing. ] How long do you think it'll take to crawl back? Because, yeah, the ground isn't the most comfortable place to be. [ He's got a couple rocks digging into his arm, and he's pretty sure his leg just fell asleep.
Not that crawling back is the greatest thought in the world, either. ]
LOOK HOW LATE I AM, s-sob. /o/
Sigh. Damn these curses. This one seemed so odd - some people plagued with illnesses, some with phobias, some with just strange oddities and behaviors. His own headaches hadn't improved much at all, although he was in a much better state than the previous evening.
Urgh, this whole thing didn't make any sense. Well. Not that curses around here ever made much sense. But his patience had been wearing thin, and he can't help but feel more annoyed than usual.]
Hah... I'm not sure crawling back would be the best option, honestly. Might take a while. Would you be alright if someone carried you, or is that asking too much right now?
