Laharl?
SUDDENLY NINJA FAUST TAGS
The prince was slumped, more of slouched in that couch with a pillow pulled to his chest. His eyes peeked out from the top of the pillow, unreadable save for the frown knotting his brow. Laharl didn't move save for shifting the pillow slightly to make sure his voice wasn't muffled.
For once, he wasn't in the mood to raise it. ]
Yeah, what? I'm in here.
no subject
[The Fon Master's voice cracks. Ion clears his throat. He shouldn't mumble about it, even if all he wants to do is cry.]
Sola has passed away.
no subject
What does bother him however is the fact that he knew that Sola died just when Izaya told him he wouldn't be around. He didn't want to consider it, didn't even think about it. ]
...yeah. I know.
no subject
Zelos said he - Zelos said that Sola did it to himself.
[He draws his knees up to his chest, sounding terrified.]
How could he? He's already died once, he knows, he knows that there's nothing...
no subject
Yeah. Heard about that too.
[ He's quiet though. Still trying to figure things out. ]
Hell should I know. What the heck happened while I was asleep anyway? I wake up, shit happens and before ya know it, Izaya's tellin' me he's going away for a few days.
[ Watch him pretend not to care about that last bit. ]
no subject
You... you don't think Izaya is...?
no subject
But that's easily tucked away. Tucked back away where it isn't needed. This is what happened when you got close to people. You ended up getting hurt. This is why he hated getting close.
When he finally speaks though, there's no worry, no pain, no nothing. Just the same old irritation he uses to cover up everything. ]
Hell no! He better not or I'm gonna kick his ass when he gets back!
He said he'd get back here in once piece.

[Ion almost leans over onto Laharl, but decides at the last minute that the little demon wouldn't enjoy that
even if Ion desperately wants to be hugged right now.]I don't like this, though. Aren't we supposed to be family? I wish they hadn't kept this from us.
[When "housemates" evolved into "family" is anyone's guess.]
no subject
...then why is he scrunching himself into a tighter ball and hiding behind a throwpillow?
Anyone's guess right now.
But he moves just the slightest bit closer. He kinda needs the company too. This is all just... really making him dizzy. ]
...Family? Goes ta show what you know.
[ A huff. ]
Who cares? They got their own business and if they're screwing up because of it, it's none of our damn fault!
...They dug their own graves.
[ Lashing out's the only way he knows how to cope. ]
no subject
I care. You care as well, don't you? Family, comrades, allies... whatever you would like to call it, that is what we are. It's natural that we look after each other, just as it is natural to be worried for each other when things aren't going well.
no subject
A scoff as he scoots himself closer. Fine. You may approach the royal prickly. ]
...whatever.
Sola's coming back after four days anyway.
...screw Izaya.
no subject
Do you mean that? Whatever hurt them so badly that they felt the need to do something so horrible... we should be here for them when they get back, don't you think? We can make sure it doesn't happen again.
[If Sola really does come back, that is. The Fon Master swallows hard, trying to ignore the mounting fear in his chest.]
no subject
...They better come back. If they don't I'm gonna hunt em down and drag 'em back.
no subject
[They have to come back. Ion looks at the discarded pudding cups and has a sudden realization:
Neither one of them can really cook. He looks at Laharl slowly.]
Umm... do you want me to make something to eat?
no subject
I'm fi-
[ ...suddenly a stomach growl.
And then awkward silence. ]
...well, what're you waiting for? Go get us some food!
no subject
[Ion gets up and pads over to the kitchen. He's never cooked before, but he's watched people do it so he can too, right?
...right?
Maybe not. Making tea was one thing, but Ion's gotten it into his head to try and fry some chicken since he knows Laharl prefers meat dishes. Cue a lot of yelping as the oil flies up towards him.]
no subject
Five minutes later, he's popped his head into the kitchen before anything could be set on fire. ]
Ion! Whadaya think you're doing?!
no subject
[Oh Lorelei help he's got oil burns now. Don't look at them, he'll feel like a nuisance.]
It's, ah, it's in the oil now so it should be fine!
no subject
Waiting.
Looking.
Staring. ]
...you have no idea what the hell you're doing, do you?
no subject
[n o p e]
It's just following a recipe, isn't it? It should not be that difficult.
no subject
[ Huff. Sinking against the kitchen counter. Damn, thinking was bad for him. Made him hungry. ]
...better get it right.
no subject
[Gosh Laharl, you're treating him like he's never cooked before. Which... admittedly, beyond instant meals, he hasn't. He makes his serious business face at the chicken as it cooks, turning it over frequently to make sure it doesn't burn. He gets spattered with oil a couple times, but it seems to be coming out well.]
