Monkeying Around
Who: Vegeta and anyone stupid brave enough to approach
When: February 21st, late afternoon - February 22nd, predawn
Where: The abandoned village on the island
Style: Either
Status Open, but don't approach him at night unless you're ready to get hurt!
Late Afternoon
It wasn't that Vegeta's past couple days had been bad, not in particular at least. It had been almost full month since his arrival, though, and he was starting to get antsy. His first thought was that it might be related to the lunar cycle of this place, and so he had gone up to the island to get a reading with his scouter. Sure enough, it was going to be a full moon tonight. He was looking forward to it.
Night
Vegeta had transformed into an Oozaru, a giant, insanely strong creature somewhat resembling a monkey. He had put his clothes and scouter to the side and hid them, not wanting anyone to know it was him just yet. The prince was having great fun uprooting trees and smashing old buildings in the abandoned village without any repercussions, and he would not be pleased if he was interrupted.

What the hell...?
[Despite the mumble, Shizuo is primed and ready to fight if he has to, now, and he's little excited about it. After all, the point of the walk is to burn off some of his irritation, and what better way than a fight?
Besides, he's supposed to be practicing control and staying in his right mind during a fight. He's hardly had a chance to do that. Now is as good of a time as ever.
He just hopes the creature is not as strong as he is fast.]

After that he turns, covering his eyes and hoping against hope that Shizuo thinks to try and hide. He won't risk speaking. The tail is indication enough for someone intelligent, add his voice into the mix (distorted as it was) and Shizuo would know.]

He notices that the beast is covering his eyes - and oh. It clicks. It clicks and Shizuo is off, running and trying to find a good place to hide. It doesn't really matter, because he knows he'll be found - remembers that Vegeta, if this thing is truly Vegeta, has a good sense of smell. Unfortunately, Shizuo doesn't think about the ways in which he can cover that up, he just chooses an abandoned house at random. There isn't much furniture for him to work with, so he finds a closet and closes himself inside.
He tries to still his breathing, and has the distinct feeling of being prey. He can't deny that there could be some thrill to this new game - a new way of finding-and-fighting - but it's stifled by the fact that he cannot get Zelda out of his head.]

For a few moments, there's no sound. Vegeta has started to fly so he can sneak up on him. Suddenly, the roof is torn off the house Shizuo is hiding in as he roars down at the human in the closet.
This is so much fun. He should have done it sooner!]

He's not 100% certain it's Vegeta, but he's operating on the basis that it is, because to assume otherwise could be dangerous. And unlike any of their other encounters, Shizuo genuinely feels afraid, this time. The only facts he knows about Vegeta is that he's better at fighting (stronger, too) and that he doesn't seem to have limits, hence the threat to Zelda's life. Who is to say that being a large monkey-type creature doesn't turn off whatever shred of morality might have been there previously?
Whether it is Vegeta or not, Shizuo knows that he needs to be smart. This isn't a fight - or...game - that can be won by strength. He finds himself wishing that he and Izaya had the opportunity to train or do something similar. Izaya is so good at being tricky; Shizuo is not.
Still, he forces his mind to work as everything is crashing around him, and once the roof is torn off, Shizuo has a loose, most likely flawed plan in his mind.
Shizuo is already on his way out of the closet by the time the roof is torn off, and he runs directly around the creature. Hiding isn't going to accomplish anything - even Shizuo can see that - so instead, he quickly scales up one of the buildings, then turns to see how much time he has before he goes skipping across rooftops.
Shizuo may not be able to win, but maybe he can evade the creature for a little while. Prove that he can think, even as adrenaline is running through his veins.]

He flicks his tail lazily as he waits for Shizuo to get ahead a bit, then he picks up the largest solid object he can find and flings it at the next building Shizuo would be planning to jump at with full force, causing it to shudder dangerously. That route is no good, if Shizuo can even stop himself from jumping to it in time.]

So he skids to a halt before jumping to that roof. He's more screwed than he thought he would be, so Shizuo decides to forgo the roof entirely, and jumps off.
It's a good thing his ankles are used to abuse, because that would have hurt a lot otherwise.
He takes off on the ground, now, hoping to avoid any flying objects.]

He crouches down on the ground and leaps, planning to land right in front of Shizuo if he keeps moving in that direction at that speed. He has to be careful to not step on him, after all, but he does want it to be terrifyingly close.]

He just doesn't know what happens now that he's lost the game.]
GOD DAMMIT I LOST THE GAME

He doesn't even process that the creature clears the trees.
The pressure on his legs increases. But they don't break easily. Shizuo's bones haven't broken in years. After breaking and healing over and over again in his youth, coupled with a diet reinforced by a high intake of milk, Shizuo's bones managed to grow incredibly strong. Shizuo's been hit by large vehicles before and yet walked away without the slightest fracture. Up until this evening, Shizuo had been convinced his bones just could not break anymore.
Of course, he hadn't taken into consideration the possibility of being crushed by a strong, over-sized monkey.
It takes them a good minute, but when his legs finally snap, Shizuo feels it, unlike anything he has felt in years - pain, real pain - and his mind is filled with images of his brother beside his hospital bed, a shop torn to pieces in his wake, mounting hospital bills on a kitchen table.
He doesn't cry out, but he breathes in sharply, clenches his teeth, and endures.]

It was surprisingly hard, breaking someone at this size without outright killing them. He gives Shizuo a "punch" to the torso with his index finger. If it does break some of his ribs, so be it. He spread the impact out so that there wouldn't be any splintering at least before dropping Shizuo right next to the elevator.
He still had one arm, he could drag himself back into the city if he was worthwhile.]

At least he's alive.
Now he just needs to get back to the city. Zelda can heal him, but he's not sure he wants to explain this to her. Shinra couldn't do anything about broken bones...which left...Ion? But Ion grew weak when he used magic.
Shizuo reaches - with great effort - for his cigarettes. He might be broken, but that's not going to stop him from having a smoke.]
