Monkeying Around
Who: Vegeta and anyone stupid brave enough to approach
When: February 21st, late afternoon - February 22nd, predawn
Where: The abandoned village on the island
Style: Either
Status Open, but don't approach him at night unless you're ready to get hurt!
Late Afternoon
It wasn't that Vegeta's past couple days had been bad, not in particular at least. It had been almost full month since his arrival, though, and he was starting to get antsy. His first thought was that it might be related to the lunar cycle of this place, and so he had gone up to the island to get a reading with his scouter. Sure enough, it was going to be a full moon tonight. He was looking forward to it.
Night
Vegeta had transformed into an Oozaru, a giant, insanely strong creature somewhat resembling a monkey. He had put his clothes and scouter to the side and hid them, not wanting anyone to know it was him just yet. The prince was having great fun uprooting trees and smashing old buildings in the abandoned village without any repercussions, and he would not be pleased if he was interrupted.

Night~
He decides to do a little bit more venturing and head somewhere other than the park for once. And that's how he winds up at the abandoned village on the island. He had been here once before - and during that time, he had fought with Izaya.
Needless to say, he is a little irritable and distracted by the time he stumbles upon...whatever it is. Some large monkey or something. Shizuo isn't sure. He watches it for a little while, fearlessly - obviously not realizing the true nature of the creature. After a few minutes, though, Shizuo grows bored and resumes his walk, not necessarily interrupting the creature, but not trying to avoid it, either.]

Only one way to find out.
The Oozaru moves over to Shizuo with blinding speed, far faster than any creature of its size should be able to move. He swipes down with a huge hand that's about the size of Shizuo himself, intent on grabbing the bodyguard.]
no subject
What the hell...?
[Despite the mumble, Shizuo is primed and ready to fight if he has to, now, and he's little excited about it. After all, the point of the walk is to burn off some of his irritation, and what better way than a fight?
Besides, he's supposed to be practicing control and staying in his right mind during a fight. He's hardly had a chance to do that. Now is as good of a time as ever.
He just hopes the creature is not as strong as he is fast.]
no subject
After that he turns, covering his eyes and hoping against hope that Shizuo thinks to try and hide. He won't risk speaking. The tail is indication enough for someone intelligent, add his voice into the mix (distorted as it was) and Shizuo would know.]

The village is that way, and though it is abandoned, anyone who might be there is clearly in danger. Siegfried is not the sort to take chances when he is perfectly capable of coming to the rescue, and anyhow, he has no reason to believe that the trouble will be limited to the moment. He all but leaps into the village, sword at the ready, but quickly slows his pace to search.
Of course, the creature isn't very hard to find, given that it seems to be dedicated to creating as much rubble as possible. That, as far as the prince is concerned, mustn't be allowed to continue. He halts, raising his blade and calling out.]
Stop this destruction at once!

He notices that the beast is covering his eyes - and oh. It clicks. It clicks and Shizuo is off, running and trying to find a good place to hide. It doesn't really matter, because he knows he'll be found - remembers that Vegeta, if this thing is truly Vegeta, has a good sense of smell. Unfortunately, Shizuo doesn't think about the ways in which he can cover that up, he just chooses an abandoned house at random. There isn't much furniture for him to work with, so he finds a closet and closes himself inside.
He tries to still his breathing, and has the distinct feeling of being prey. He can't deny that there could be some thrill to this new game - a new way of finding-and-fighting - but it's stifled by the fact that he cannot get Zelda out of his head.]

For a few moments, there's no sound. Vegeta has started to fly so he can sneak up on him. Suddenly, the roof is torn off the house Shizuo is hiding in as he roars down at the human in the closet.
This is so much fun. He should have done it sooner!]

He's not 100% certain it's Vegeta, but he's operating on the basis that it is, because to assume otherwise could be dangerous. And unlike any of their other encounters, Shizuo genuinely feels afraid, this time. The only facts he knows about Vegeta is that he's better at fighting (stronger, too) and that he doesn't seem to have limits, hence the threat to Zelda's life. Who is to say that being a large monkey-type creature doesn't turn off whatever shred of morality might have been there previously?
Whether it is Vegeta or not, Shizuo knows that he needs to be smart. This isn't a fight - or...game - that can be won by strength. He finds himself wishing that he and Izaya had the opportunity to train or do something similar. Izaya is so good at being tricky; Shizuo is not.
Still, he forces his mind to work as everything is crashing around him, and once the roof is torn off, Shizuo has a loose, most likely flawed plan in his mind.
Shizuo is already on his way out of the closet by the time the roof is torn off, and he runs directly around the creature. Hiding isn't going to accomplish anything - even Shizuo can see that - so instead, he quickly scales up one of the buildings, then turns to see how much time he has before he goes skipping across rooftops.
Shizuo may not be able to win, but maybe he can evade the creature for a little while. Prove that he can think, even as adrenaline is running through his veins.]

He flicks his tail lazily as he waits for Shizuo to get ahead a bit, then he picks up the largest solid object he can find and flings it at the next building Shizuo would be planning to jump at with full force, causing it to shudder dangerously. That route is no good, if Shizuo can even stop himself from jumping to it in time.]
no subject
So he skids to a halt before jumping to that roof. He's more screwed than he thought he would be, so Shizuo decides to forgo the roof entirely, and jumps off.
It's a good thing his ankles are used to abuse, because that would have hurt a lot otherwise.
He takes off on the ground, now, hoping to avoid any flying objects.]
no subject
He crouches down on the ground and leaps, planning to land right in front of Shizuo if he keeps moving in that direction at that speed. He has to be careful to not step on him, after all, but he does want it to be terrifyingly close.]
no subject
He just doesn't know what happens now that he's lost the game.]
GOD DAMMIT I LOST THE GAME

He doesn't even process that the creature clears the trees.
The pressure on his legs increases. But they don't break easily. Shizuo's bones haven't broken in years. After breaking and healing over and over again in his youth, coupled with a diet reinforced by a high intake of milk, Shizuo's bones managed to grow incredibly strong. Shizuo's been hit by large vehicles before and yet walked away without the slightest fracture. Up until this evening, Shizuo had been convinced his bones just could not break anymore.
Of course, he hadn't taken into consideration the possibility of being crushed by a strong, over-sized monkey.
It takes them a good minute, but when his legs finally snap, Shizuo feels it, unlike anything he has felt in years - pain, real pain - and his mind is filled with images of his brother beside his hospital bed, a shop torn to pieces in his wake, mounting hospital bills on a kitchen table.
He doesn't cry out, but he breathes in sharply, clenches his teeth, and endures.]

It was surprisingly hard, breaking someone at this size without outright killing them. He gives Shizuo a "punch" to the torso with his index finger. If it does break some of his ribs, so be it. He spread the impact out so that there wouldn't be any splintering at least before dropping Shizuo right next to the elevator.
He still had one arm, he could drag himself back into the city if he was worthwhile.]
no subject
At least he's alive.
Now he just needs to get back to the city. Zelda can heal him, but he's not sure he wants to explain this to her. Shinra couldn't do anything about broken bones...which left...Ion? But Ion grew weak when he used magic.
Shizuo reaches - with great effort - for his cigarettes. He might be broken, but that's not going to stop him from having a smoke.]

Night
It wasn't that hard to find this giant monkey.
He just stands on top of a fallen tree, staring hard at the creature. And why yes, if his eyes appear to be glowing a bit freakishly red then you're not imagining things.
Izaya is more dangerous than he lets on, after all.]
Night
If it's cool for Izaya to have found the scouter- that is
...Yeah. It's not that difficult for Izaya to work this one.
It takes him a few moments. He jumps off of the log and all but glides across the ground until he's in front of the creature.]
That's not very nice of you to play so rough with my boyfriend.
[His tone is scolding. Like he's smacking a dog on the nose for peeing in the house- rather than talking to a monkey monster who had just obliterated a lot of land.
But then, out of his pocket, he raises- yup. Vegeta's scouter.]
This is a really hideous form you have, Vegeta.
That's fine!
Do you really want to antagonize me? You said not to kill him. I didn't kill him.
no subject
I'm the antagonist. It's kind of what I do.
[He puts the scouter away back into his pocket and reaches a hand up to poke a finger directly between the monkey's eyes.]
Just because I said don't kill him doesn't mean I'm not going to get a little angry if you hurt him badly. I'm pretty used to being the only one fucking Shizuo over. So. You know.
no subject
[Vegeta finds this amusing, for now at least.]
no subject
[Izaya knows well enough from observation. And contrary to popular belief, he does not have a God mentality. People simply misunderstand his theories and speakings.]
He isn't a demon. He doesn't have powers. He is strong for a human but Shizu-chan has his limits too. I don't really understand your fascination with him when there are people much more accommodating to your power-hungry desires. I know demons and vampires and other things that could fight you and actually be a challenge.
no subject
He doesn't want to think about it.]
Is that so? I'd appreciate an introduction, then.
no subject
Don't really see why I should help you. Since you're so capable of doing everything on your own and destroying everything, supposedly.
Besides. What would be in it for me?
no subject
no subject
He just stares, genuinely indifferent and perfectly void of...anything.]
Are you done?
no subject
[He holds his hand out, palm up.]
no subject
Parkour!
And he just barely lands on the flat ground- nearly falling backward and down into the ruined mess but he forces himself forward and falls down on his stomach.
Only to quickly roll over and burst to his feet.
Turning about, he smirks at the monkey and removes the scouter.]
You broke my most important person. So.
[He's just going to ...apply pressure to the scouter to try and snap it in half. He doesn't know if it's that weak but hey.
One way to find out.]
no subject
How cute. Do you want to be broken too? As far as this city goes, I'd really rather only be hurting people that come at me first, but I can make an exception if you're feeling left out.
no subject
[And one carefree smile, he's putting the scouter back into his pocket.]
You don't really seem like that type of person. You kinda seem like the type to pick fights. I mean, it's pretty suspicious that you're up here destroying everything.
So what, are you trying to upkeep a 'good image' or something?
no subject
[Vegeta folds his arms.]
But having living enemies - that gives them the chance to find me vulnerable, someday.
no subject
[Even Izaya did....Well.
Kind of.
..No he didn't. He snorts.]
Except me of course.
no subject
[Vegeta draws himself up to his full height. Like this, he more than makes up for his usual stature.]
Give that scouter back and I won't break your toys again.
no subject
[He looks a bit coy as he stares up at the monkey.]
Back from where I come from, I wouldn't really call myself vulnerable. And I don't think anyone else would call me that either.
I'm not really even that here. But I suppose it's just the gift of rational thinking....
Hm? Is that right? And if you do?
[He removes the scouter, holding it out for a moment before drawing it back to himself.]
You should promise to not break him. I don't care about you hurting anyone else except for him. He's mine. Fight him all you want but don't render him useless like you did tonight. I doubt that it was even a fair fight, what with you in this barbaric form.
If you still want to blow Zelda up, go for it. I don't really like her anymore anyway.
[He tosses the scouter back to the creature.]
I like you, Vegeta, so I'm sure we can have a really great friendship. A really useful friendship, rather.
no subject
[He catches it, being gentle with the tool despite his size and power.]
Fine. I won't break him. If he really is human, there's no point in breaking him, anyway.
[Part of Vegeta sounds... lonely. When Vegeta first said that Saiyans became stronger after healing, Izaya had mentioned Shizuo. Without knowing it, the prince came to think of Shizuo as a Saiyan, too.]
no subject
[It's okay. Izaya doesn't really do the friend thing.]
I mean business partners. I don't know. I'm bad at relationship entitlements.
[Nor does he care enough to stick around and figure something fitting out.]
Thanks. He is only human. I've tested that theory plenty myself.
[He means it. Izaya's eyes seem to soften to their usual color and really- maybe it was just the lighting.
He's about to leave. But.]
There's a demon here named Sebastian Michaelis.
He's a pretty interesting creature, you know.
[It's a suggestion. Of someone that maybe Vegeta could fight.]
Try him on for size. See ya later, Vegeta. I need to go make sure Shizu-chan's not bleeding on my bed. Those are nice sheets.
[And with that, Izaya's gone from sight and into the remains of the forest.]
