Who: Rue & Matthew
Where: Whenever,
When: Whenever,
Style: WE'LL ALWAYS BE TOGE-- I mean, uh, first.
Status: Closed kalsjds (going to make an open post for her one day, I swear guys)
[Rue's isn't all that worried about the state of Vatheon as it is at the moment. She's used to fairytale settings (although this is considerably different from Gold Crown); and judging by her light browsing through the SFC network, people are already working to correct things, so she finds herself without any need to lift a finger.
She has far more pressing matters on her mind, as she walks through the city; and she's got her SFC in her hand, wondering where his name went.
Mytho...
Siegfried.
He hadnt been in his room either, and she thinks she should probably tell Ahiru.
She finds herself staring at her name too, however, and...simply doesn't hit the call button. Not yet.]

[Now shes the one tilting her head; her curiosity for the moment taking over her sadness.]
But, where will we go?
no subject
Just follow me then.
[And he reaches for her hand without an regards for personal space, towing her forward.]
no subject
H-Hey--!
[Just going to be dragged along then. She struggles a bit at first, but...quickly realizes it is pointless, seeing how frail she is in comparison to him.
Not to mention he seems to mean no harm anyway!
So she...follows along curiously, wondering where he might be taking her. She doesn't say anything else, but keeps her eyes and ears open.]

Eventually they come across a quaint little cottage, which he pushes the door open to, gesturing towards a table.]
It's funny. The entire city changes, but this place only changes the outside decor. They still serve the same things.
no subject
She looks around, listening to him...]
Where is this...?
no subject
Now? Now it seems to be 'ye olde'...cafe.
Good to see some things don't change.
[He follows, taking a seat across from her.]
no subject
[Rue continues to glance around, then, figuring that it makes sense. It looks like enough of a cafe to her, though she doesn't visit them that often.]
I don't believe I've visited this one before.
no subject
[And then he stands, disappearing for a moment--
Though he'll return in a minute or two with two bottles of milk. He sets one down in front of her and grins.]
There.
no subject
[Shhhhh. She gets out! She just...hasn't been to this particular place. Plus, no one has bothered to invite her anywhere before today...
Mmpth.
But she picks up the bottle of milk in front of her and examines it for a moment, looking at its label. Her throat does feel rather dry, so...she begins to unscrew the top.]
...Thank you.
no subject
[He turns his attention to his own drink, sipping it contemplatively for a moment before he speaks up again.]
This is just what someone here taught me.
There's very little a glass of milk won't resolve, at least a little.
no subject
...She doesn't give much thought to trying to savor the taste. And though it's very good, she doesn't think it'll bring Mytho back, either. But oh well.]
It is enough, for now. Until I find a way to follow him...
[At least, if he really has gone home.]
no subject
He might come back too, you know. And if you're in too big a hurry to follow him, you'll miss each other.
[Heh. He toys with the milk bottle in his hand idly.]
You don't want to be stuck in that situation either.
no subject
[Her bottle's now empty; and she's playing with it a little too. Rocking it back and forth. The milk would be sloshing around inside, if there was anything in it.]
But then, that means being stuck here for a while longer.
[It hadn't been so bad without him around, but...now she's remembering how lonely the city can feel.
Even amongst all this chaos.]
no subject
And then he suddenly plants his hands on the table and leans forward, peering at her.]
Well, with such a gloomy outlook, no wonder you're always so grumpy when I see you!
no subject
Coming from the person who made a broadcast, detailing just how cruel Vatheon could be, when we first met?
[Don't think she's forgotten.]
no subject
I like it here, to be entirely honest!
[grin grin grin.]
no subject
[Oh, look. She is grinning, too...]
What kind of place did you leave behind, anyway...?
no subject
Ah...it wasn't that bad. Ostia especially; that was my home.
But I just mean that it's...really not bad at all here.
Of course, the lack of wars is a plus in my book.
no subject
The Raven, and her prince, who are destined to be eternal enemies, so long as they coexist. That...that much is enough.]
Perhaps you're right...although Vatheon is certainly known to be violent at times, too.
There must be times when are at least reminded, then...
[of Ostia.
Whether that's a good or bad thing, she doesn't really know...]
no subject
Of Ostia?
[Huh.]
It doesn't bother me to speak of it. I've only been away for two years.
And someday I will go home to serve my lord again.
no subject
[He sounds determined, so it's easy to believe him. It doesn't bother her to speak of Gold Crown, either, she realizes...
So clearly she's become comfortable as well.]
But two years is a long time.
no subject
Two years is a long time.
[A laugh and he shrugs.]
But that's my job anyway. I have spent longer than this away from Ostia for a job or two. You adapt or you go mad.
no subject
[She'd been ready to go mad at first, didn't she? If it weren't for people like Jane, like Hajime.
Like him. And her prince.]
With everyone else trapped here as well, I suppose we have help with that.
[Adapting, that is.]
no subject
[He laughs, knowing that's not what she meant.]
Yes, you're right. The people here help with both.
You just have to be discerning about the company you keep.
no subject
[Rue grins at the laugh; although she isn’t always the best judge of character. Honestly, however, she’s only come to learn this about herself…fairly recently.]
But I will take that as a warning, from someone who’s been here far longer than I.
