I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then
Who: Sola and Vatheon
When: The wee hours of the morning
Where: Plaza
Style: Brackets
Status: Open to all CR great and small!
[At first the Hylian doesn't recognize where he is.
There's a heavy and wild intake of breath as if he doesn't expect for his lungs to expand. He scrambles for the nearest cover, nearly bowling over a hapless towel vendor in the process. He merges into the shadow of a building, nothing visible aside from piercing red eyes as he finally pauses to take in his surroundings, tense and suspicious.
What had Link done? He'd thought he'd been done for, that Ganon's resurrection was a failure purely because again he hadn't been able to spill the hero's blood. And he'd had so much time to plan, to send minions and monsters after him all along, to observe and prepare. But maybe that had been the problem, he'd waited too long. He should have attacked at the beginning when he'd been- well, not weak, he'd still defeated the Demon King, but when Link had his guard down during the reconstruction...
Dark Link's train of thought grinds to a halt as he finally connects where he is, as the jumble of memories he'd ignored suddenly appearing in his mind in favor of adrenaline still surging from his life or death battle start to sort themselves out slowly. They're hardly finished, but he knows this place now. He recognizes it.
Still standing in the shadows but no longer a part of them, Dark Link just stares.
Vatheon.
Home.]

Vatheon.

[ So Barry had guessed right. There was something different about Addy, and possibly something he wouldn't like. ]
What's the matter Sola? Did you learn more of the world while you were gone?
It's funny isn't it? How you can change when you grow up.
What did you do Sola? What is it that put that look in your eyes?
no subject
[He whirls around to Barry's back, defensive and yelling.]
I don't have to tell you anything, you're not even a real person, you're just a replica!
[He pains himself yelling such things but because it's Barry it comes out anyway, Barry who he's afraid had done something terrible to Johnny while he was gone.]
Don't follow me or I'll decorate the coral with your insides.
[It's no idle threat this time. He really believes he could do it, and with the small tendrils of shadow that start to curl from his shoulders it might even be believable to others too.
He turns away again and attempts to leave, going to find Johnny and make sure the vampire is alright. He'll figure anything else out later. All that matters now is Johnny's safety.]

[ He moves quickly in front of Sola, blocking his exit. That shadow effect is certainly interesting. ]
Was that a threat?
[ Barry smiles. ]
It seems you and I really are alike, even more so now than before Sola.
Do you really think, Addy will want you back?
no subject
[He regards Barry coolly but the tendrils of shadow grow more pronounced with his glare.]
We are alike. The difference is when my master is gone, I have my own purpose. You're still ruled by your maker in all things.
[He stiffens again, nearly growling.]
That's for Johnny to decide, not you. Now move.

Do you really think you could best me, Sola?
[ The better question was if Sola thought it would do any good. ]
It may be Addy's choice, but I have to wonder how disappointed he'd be to see what you've become.
no subject
I don't know, and I expect to find out at some point wether I can beat you or not, but not today. Not right now. You'll have to wait.
[He takes a step towards Barry, still utterly unafraid, and then vanishes. In a blink, he's stepped onto Barry's shadow and sunk into it, presence gone to all senses. When he speaks again its a disembodied voice, impossible to tell which direction it sounds from.]
But you wont see me coming.

[ The shocked expression faded until all that was left was a self satisfied smile. ]
I look forward to it, Sola~
