I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then
Who: Sola and Vatheon
When: The wee hours of the morning
Where: Plaza
Style: Brackets
Status: Open to all CR great and small!
[At first the Hylian doesn't recognize where he is.
There's a heavy and wild intake of breath as if he doesn't expect for his lungs to expand. He scrambles for the nearest cover, nearly bowling over a hapless towel vendor in the process. He merges into the shadow of a building, nothing visible aside from piercing red eyes as he finally pauses to take in his surroundings, tense and suspicious.
What had Link done? He'd thought he'd been done for, that Ganon's resurrection was a failure purely because again he hadn't been able to spill the hero's blood. And he'd had so much time to plan, to send minions and monsters after him all along, to observe and prepare. But maybe that had been the problem, he'd waited too long. He should have attacked at the beginning when he'd been- well, not weak, he'd still defeated the Demon King, but when Link had his guard down during the reconstruction...
Dark Link's train of thought grinds to a halt as he finally connects where he is, as the jumble of memories he'd ignored suddenly appearing in his mind in favor of adrenaline still surging from his life or death battle start to sort themselves out slowly. They're hardly finished, but he knows this place now. He recognizes it.
Still standing in the shadows but no longer a part of them, Dark Link just stares.
Vatheon.
Home.]

Vatheon.

It moves too quickly for him to properly register, but curiosity draws him towards those red eyes burning out of the shadows, and he twists the fabric of his t-shirt in one hand as he ventures tentatively...]
... Thola?

[Upon seeing the troll, many memories flood Dark Link's mind, of fun and comfort, if maybe a little sad. They'd been friends, close friends. He recalls almost asking Mituna to be moirails before he'd found out Kurloz already had the position, and he's misunderstood it anyway. It wasn't about friendship so much as babysitting each other, and Dark Link had definitely leaned towards the former with Mituna.
At least he'd used to. Now he's not sure. True he only feels friendship and warmth for the troll, but Dark Link's the one that now needs watching, after everything he'd done.
Even so, the Hylian steps into the light with a smile on his face.]
How are you?

I wath waiting for you! [Mostly true. He's practically bouncing on his heels.] Fai thaid you didn't want to leave and I knew you'd come back jutht like Latula did.
[Excited? Why, yes.]
no subject
[He doesn't recall the name, but Mituna's happy so what does it matter? He can't help but smile at the troll's enthusiasm, though there's something quiet and sad behind it now, the exuberance he used to show almost completely snuffed out. Really, he just looks tired.]
I hope you weren't waiting that long.

[He shakes his head quickly, almost throwing himself off-balance, then his manner subdues slightly and he ducks down a little to peer at Sola's face.]
It'th been.. a while. [Time is just A Thing as far as Mituna is concerned, and he doesn't keep track of it very well.] Are you thtaying thith time?
no subject
[He keeps smiling at Mituna but it wanes a bit at his question.]
I want to. I didn't leave by choice.
no subject
[And there's a tone to his voice that makes it clear that he does know, he's not just saying it because it's something he thinks he ought to say.]
... you look difh-fferent.
no subject
[He feels different, as you do with age, but to his knowledge his face remains the same as it did before he left, even given the years he's worn through.]
How so?
no subject
[He's not that great at picking up on subtleties, but there's something, even if he can't put his finger on it.]
Where'd you go?
