Two superheroes, a cat, and a big tree
Who: Cloud, Zack, and YOU
What: Vatheon's Dynamic Duo is off doing dynamic things. Like rescuing kitties.
When: Backdated to Tuesday night
Status: Open!
Style: Starting with prose but I will match
A scream of panic alerted the two heroes. The city may be full of crime, but no scream or cry for help would go ignored by these two. No deed was too great or too small, too lowly or too risky for them. So with capes fluttering in the wind, they set off for the scene of the emergency, muscles tensed and minds racing in anticipation of whatever awaited them. What cruel mishap, what foul deed, or what horrid crime awaited them?
Honestly? The most fearsome thing was the panicking old woman trying to scramble up a tree for her beloved cat.
An easy fix, or it would be if the tree weren't so damn tall. A single bound or leap up the tree would suffice, or it would if the old lady didn't insist the branches would break if they did that. It was an old tree, apparently, and heaven forbid a branch break and her poor kitty plummeted to the ground.
So that's how Zack and Cloud, the most daring and awesome spike-haired pair the bubble has ever seen, can be found that night trying to get a darned cat out of a tree. Zack is on Cloud's shoulders, giving him directions and helping him maneuver him towards the trapped feline.
Now if only it would stay still...
((ooc: Feel free to join in in any manner! Help them, hinder them, or just point and laugh.))

"Are you getting close?"
Because really he was pretty sure he was going to say fuck it and jump up anyway if this took much longer. Cats are cats, if the branch broke, the thing would land on its feet.

Because clearly Cloud should have the capability to stand Perfectly Still with a grown man on his shoulders.
"Couple feet to the left, and then hold still. Then I can get it!"
Maybe. This is Zack the Optimist, after all.

It seemed like a viable option. He was heavy. Though it was probably more because of muscle than anything and not eating would definitely not help that.
He shifts a few steps to the left as told, glancing up the best he can. "Better?"

But Cloud's repositioning worked, and Zack finds himself face to face with the cat. Slowly, he reaches a hand out towards the cat, hoping to coax it into coming over.
Instead, he's met with a hiss and a swipe of its claws. Right across his face.
"OW!" he screams as he rears back.

"Dammit--" He's at least going to try to catch him before he hits the ground. But this could just end messy.

Tifa, or Raptor as she's known by night, considers herself a more respectable hero. In her body-hugging black suit with the bird decal, she patrols the city fighting actual crimes. She's been out since sundown, and has just recently left a robbery where the perpetrator now sits bruised and trussed up, waiting for police to come pick him up. So she can afford to stop a moment and watch the absurdity of the situation.

But this is coming from Zack, who probably doesn't take things quite as seriously as he should. Still, he strongly believes superheroes aren't above doing any job. If they're needed, then they should be there to help. That was the burden one took when donning the cape or suit.
He catches Raptor from the corner of his eye, but he says nothing for now, more focused on getting said kitty out of said tree. If she wants to watch, feel free. See some teamwork in action.

So there might be the slightest sigh - just a slight one! - before he's trying his best to focus on this teamwork thing.
He still lets go of one of Zack's ankles ever so briefly to spare a wave though. Cat rescuing superheroes can be totally friendly to the more classic sorts after all.

"I'm sure they'll have him down any moment, ma'am," she remarks aside to the old lady. "They do this sort of thing all the time." There's a hint of teasing in her tone. She's not completely uptight, okay.
no subject
"Hey, someone's gotta do it. And we take pride in all of our jobs!"
Although he knows she's teasing, he's heard it a lot of times before. Maybe it's not saving people's lives or stopping criminals, but it's still someone in need.
"Little more to the left, Cloud!"
no subject
"Practice makes perfect."
no subject
"Watch out for her claws," she offers helpfully as the two maneuver closer to the cat.

[He... didn't expect to see this kind of thing.]
[He stops and just stares for a moment before speaking up in his slightly roboticized voice.]
Do you two need... assistance of any sort?
no subject
We got it, I think. The tree's old so we can't get the cat out the usual way.
