Throughout the day, Selphie makes several announcements on the SFC to promote the flower shop. There's free cake there and, also, free hugs. Cake usually draws a crowd but, if like Selphie, you are suffering with the cold, then hugs will work too.

Today, outside the shop, is an abundance of multicoloured balloons, but more red than any other colour. There's really loads - you could probably take one or two and there still would be plenty. Inside, there are less balloons, but streamers criss crossing all over the shop. By the counter is a huge birthday cake already cut into slices. It's decorated with edible balloons. It's bright in there, with the unmistakeable vibe of a birthday party.

But it isn't a birthday party. Of course, not. Aya strictly said no parties. There're no banners saying Happy Birthday anywhere. The word 'birthday' isn't anywhere. So it's not a party, just Aya's shop decorated like a party, with the entire of Vatheon invited to come along.

So come along, get some cake, have a cuddle, and give birthday wishes to the birthday boy!

Frozen wine...

Aya took the bottle, careful to hold it so he didn't get his hands frozen, too. "Ah, thank you. Maybe we can drink it later, when it thaws." Although he was pretty sure it would be pretty undrinkable by then, or at least taste badly.

Italy was a little embarrassed by it. It was good wine. Was. Who knew if it was anymore. "Ve, I hope so." Though he too was pretty sure it would taste badly after being frozen solid.

"While we wait, you can have some cake, or snacks." There was plenty to go around, and he didn't want all of Selphie's hard work to be for nothing.

"Thanks~" Italy smiled. He'd heard how much work Selphie had put into it, and knowing her, it was quite a lot of work. "Oh, my name's Italy. I don't think we've talked before~"

"I'm Aya. I'm pretty sure we haven't." He would never have forgotten such a person... "How do you know Selphie?"

"I'm glad to finally meet you!" Italy grinned. He'd heard about Aya from Selphie. She did talk about him on occasion. "Ve, we met some time ago and got along really well and became good friends." She came to the bakery and he helped out with the chocobo sometimes (he wasn't really that good at doing heavy lifting).

[ I cannot recall exactly how they met so let's be vague ]

[Sure, vague is cool.]

[Aya blinks at the statement.] "Did Selphie talk about me?" She certainly didn't talk about her friends in detail.

"She mentioned you several times!" Italy nodded. Mostly passing references, but she always seemed happy when she mentioned him. She did like that flower shop too.

[Aya glances over to Selphie before looking back to Italy.] I'm afraid she hasn't mentioned you before, however. [Just how many friends did she have?]

Ve, that's alright. [ he's memorable though, unlike poor Canada. ] My name's Italy. I run RED Bread in the plaza~

I've seen that shop before. [He wasn't a bread person, but it may be a nice excuse to step inside.]

[Italy is also a weird name.] Is there anything you'd recommend?

[ well he is the country, after all. ] Ve, you should come visit sometime~! I have all sorts of pastries and breads. I also special-make cakes. They're mostly European pastries, but I also am learning to make Japanese pastries. Japan taught me a few back home and people here are showing me some more.

I'll make sure to do that. I'm not a big fan of sweets, but it would be nice to have something that reminds me of home. I've tried European sweets, and they make my teeth hurt.

Ve, I make all sorts of non-sweet breads too~
