[It didn't take long for the contact with his matesprit and moirail to become ineffectual against the curse currently afflicting Vatheon. Thinking something might be wrong with him he'd done the first thing that had come to mind, and poked at the coral a few times.

It hadn't helped.

Now, he's sitting next to the coral, curled up and hunched over in a miserable, pointy little ball of awkward gangly limbs. Each minute or so, a violent shiver runs through his frame, shaking his shoulders and forcing his teeth to click together. He doesn't know what's happening, but he's pretty fucking sure he doesn't like it.

Anyone want to help a cold troll out?]

[Sufferer isn't going to push it, letting Mituna choose the level of contact based on his own comfort levels.]

I know! I talked to her on the network and told her you were looking for her.

[His arm tightens, just a fraction, around Mituna's shoulders and then loosens again.]

I bet you're very happy to have her back, aren't you?

[He nods enthusiastically, though the motion causes his balance to skew somewhat, leaving him slumping against Sufferer's side.]

Yeth. Did you thee her? Ithn't thhe pretty.

[Mituna's quite proud of his matesprit. No one will convince him she's not the prettiest troll there is.]

[That's fine, Sufferer has had lots of experience with yellowbloods leaning against him. He shifts a little to try and make Mituna more comfortable.]

I did! She's very lovely. You're a lucky troll.

[He puffs out proudly for a moment, then deflates a little.]

Being with her ithn't helping the cold anymore.

[Mituna talking about his matesprit is kind of adorable.]

I know; that's happening with everyone. You can only stay warm by hugging the same person for so long.

[He shrugs his free shoulder and chuckles under his breath.]

It stopped working with my moirail about two days ago. Doesn't mean I'm not still pale for him, or him for me. It only means that the curse is affecting things.

I know that. [He sounds faintly indignant, but as with most of his moods, it flickers out as quickly as it arrives.]

It ithn't working with Kurlozth either.

[Sufferer is complete impervious of yellowblood mood swings.]

You probably hugged him too much too. Don't worry, I'll keep you warm for as long as I can.

[He's quiet then, but not for long. He's never quiet for long.]

You're not like Kankri.

[Sufferer remembers meeting Kankri, and he kind of agrees with Mituna. Then again, he didn't get to spend much time with his other self.]

How am I different?

[He says it so bluntly it could be comedic, and with an utterly straight face as he looks up at Sufferer.]

And he talkth too much.

[To his credit, Sufferer doesn't laugh, even though that comedic timing is accidentally perfect. He nods and answers Mituna with complete seriousness.]

Does he treat you badly?

[He opens his mouth to reply immediately, then pauses. His shoulders drop, and a little frown draws his eyebrows downwards.]

... No. [Mituna doesn't sound sure.] He jutht thaid thhitty thingth thometimeth. Meenah alwayth told him to fuck off.

I'm sorry, MItuna.

[And he is! He can't imagine treating a yellowblood badly, the thought is just ridiculous. And yet he trusts Mituna's judgment; the middle yellowblood might be a little different in the head, but his instincts seem spot on.]

If I ever say anything bad to you, or anything that makes you uncomfortable, I want you to tell me, okay? That way, I can apologize and know to not say it again.

[He just shrugs at the apology, not really taking it one way or the other. It doesn't bother him that much that Kankri is a little shit, because he always was, and he became used to it.

That, though, is probably not that much of a good thing.

Sufferer gets a long, quiet look, and the yellowblood is oddly still as his mind ticks over the request.]

... You're theriouth?

Completely serious. You're my friend, and it would make me very upset if I accidentally said something that made you feel bad.

... Ehe. [His shoulders scrunch up with a pleased little shudder.] Ok, I'll remember.

[Maybe.

With a faint amount of hesitance, he pats Sufferer's arm lightly.]

We're friendth.

[Sufferer has no problem with Mituna touching his arm, and moves one hand so that it's resting just to the side of Mituna's. Normally he'd put it over the younger troll's hand, but he's not entirely sure how welcome that would be.]
