[It didn't take long for the contact with his matesprit and moirail to become ineffectual against the curse currently afflicting Vatheon. Thinking something might be wrong with him he'd done the first thing that had come to mind, and poked at the coral a few times.

It hadn't helped.

Now, he's sitting next to the coral, curled up and hunched over in a miserable, pointy little ball of awkward gangly limbs. Each minute or so, a violent shiver runs through his frame, shaking his shoulders and forcing his teeth to click together. He doesn't know what's happening, but he's pretty fucking sure he doesn't like it.

Anyone want to help a cold troll out?]

[Poor Mituna... Sola was just going to touch the coral as per usual then get back to his free hugs routine, but it looks like his friend needs his help right here. Without hesitation, Sola immediately wraps his arms around Mituna in a tight hug.]

Is that better?

[It's unexpected, and he makes a sound akin to a squeakbeast being trodden on when he's suddenly being touched, his spine snapping rod-straight.

Why is there touching???? Why is there touching and how can he make it st--

Wait.

He shuffles a bit in Sola's arms.]

... You're warm.

Nah, that's just how the curse works. You have to hug it away!

[Which, frankly, Sola's just fine doing! Especially if it means friendhugs. He really likes Mituna, enjoying the other troll's company, and all the interesting things he has to say, plus... well, he feels like they help each other feel better about the bad things in their lives. Mituna realls seems to get him, or so Sola thinks.]

[But people don't usually just bounce up out of nowhere and fling their arms around him. It's okay though, because it's Sola. After he's taken a few moments to get used to the feeling, he unhunches a little way, already feeling more comfortable as he warms up.]

'Th-th up, Thola.

[Still with his arms around his friend, Sola looks at Mituna with a confused expression. Usually he can tell what Mituna is saying despite the lisp but every so often he can't make out the words.]

[He squints, but Sola never makes fun of him, so...]

Oh! Nothing really. Just hugging people who need it. I don't get warm hugging Johnny anymore because we hugged too much already.

[He pauses for a long moment, mulling over in his head something he's been thinking about for quite awhile.]

Mmm... hey Mituna, do you have a moirail?

[He shifts uncomfortably for a few moments more, but seems to settle eventually. The discomfort of prolonged physical contact, when weighed up against being almost painfully cold, was always going to come out as the lesser of two evils.]

Yeah. [The yellowblood puffs his hair up out of his eyes, but it falls back into place instantly.] Kurlozth ith my moirail.

[Well, so much for that idea. He refuses to be hurt, or at least tries to refuse. After all, Mituna and Kurloz may have even known each other from before Vatheon. They're from the same place. And Kurloz is a pretty cool guy, teaching sign language and stuff. It's fine, it doesn't matter.]

U-uh, that's good, then. I don't, um. I'm not all that sure what a moirail does exactly anyway, so it's good.

[He has a better idea than he thinks, though he weighs it more heavily on friendship and understanding than keeping each other in check. He did learn from Signless, after all.]

[It's a little more complicated than that, especially when it comes to Mituna and Kurloz, but that's the long and short of it. Mituna cocks his head slightly, but it doesn't seem that he's realised why Sola is asking.]

Umm... so it's not really super best friends?

[He knew it was more than that but that's the part he's enamored with, the part he wants to share with Mituna. But thinking back, when it was said Sola was moirails with Ghriahim, there was a lot more keeping in check and very little friendship. That had been entirely one-sided too; Ghirahim had tried to get Sola to do bad things on more than one occasion.]

[His teeth dent lightly against his lower lip as he thinks on the question, his attention somewhere else. Then, he slowly shakes his head.]

[He sort of gets it now. Mituna has a more simple way of explaining things that helps Sola to understand more readily.]

[He shifts his arms a bit around Mituna to be more comfortable.]

[It seems he's thinking of someone else now.]

Mmm... [It's not an affirmative answer, more a noise as he takes in what Sola says and processes it.]

[He idly draws a diamond on the ground in front of them with one bony finger.]

Well what if they do all these bad things because they think that's what they were made to do but they weren't and you're trying to convince them they can be who they want instead of who they think they have to?

[He just stares. Sola definitely went flying way over his head with that one.]

I have a friend - only he doesn't think I'm his friend but I am - that's a replica like me and he does bad stuff but I think he only does bad stuff because the person who made him told him he had to and he needs someone to show him he can do whatever he wants, instead of what his creator wants.

[It does have the added bonus of maybe Barry leaving Johnny the hell alone if he can convince him.]
