[Tear didn't have much experience with swimming, unless one counted the few times that Luke and Jade and suggested that they relax at the spa on the top floor of the Keterburg hotel. Natalia had tried to teach her how to swim, but when you spend a good portion of your life being surrounded by miasma, you don't really like water.

Of course, she'd found things back on Auldrant to appreciate, especially after facing down her older brother and finding herself with a two-year wait for the boy she loved to possibly return to their group. She'd learn to properly swim in pools, taken up singing more and other things than just Fonic Hymns, helped Anise and Teodoro restructure the Order of Lorelei and hunted down the stray replicas that Van and the God-Generals had left of the Oracle Knights in places like Mt. Roneal and the other Sephiroth on Auldrant. She'd even spent time travelling to Baticul and Grand Chokmah to see Natalia, Guy, Jade, and Emperor Peony.

Although, waking up in a bubble, surrounded by water was the last thing she ever expected.

It took everything in her to keep from screaming. She hadn't realized how stifled the Qliphoth had felt until she spent more time on the surface of Auldrant. So, to be back in a similar atmosphere made her have to bite back the panic. She shoved it back and looked around her, seeing a towel, a brochure and a strange device.]

What's this?

[Later, after reading through the brochure and using the towel, Tear can be found walking through the middle section of the city. Her first stop was the Welcoming Center. Then, you can find her checking out the Volunteer Defense Force's office. Then, she'll be found checking out the various other sections of the city as she tries to find a place to live.

Lastly, you'll find Tear on the island, breathing deeply of the fresh air, despite the barrier keeping her from leaving. She's looking at the houses and finding one she loves. One that requires very little work to make habitable and would keep her happy.]

[Alister's out for a short walk himself, to ease his mind of recent events and... troubling words the Colonel had left just prior. He could easily hoverboot up down and around, but... taking his time was far more favourable, for the moment. He got to take in more of the city, its locals. And it was far more enjoyable than staying cramped in a tiny room all that time.

It's then he notices a petite figure in the distance, looking more lost than out for a leisurely stroll. The Lombax starts to slow, curious at the face and not remembering it prior. A new arrival, perhaps? Or once he hadn't encountered yet.}

If you keep leaving puddles in your wake, you're bound to slip.

[mysterical]

[She stared at the curious-looking creature for a moment, trying to hide her surprise.]

I am dry by this time, thank you.

[The Lombax still raises a brow at that, not entirely convinced, but willing to go along with it, anyway. If she was a new arrival, it would have to be up to him to help her, wouldn't it?]

Then perhaps you'd like to take a rest for a time? Being thrust into a new realm certainly is exhausting, I'm sure.

[She was a little tired, but her training had forced her to carry on until she had enough information to find an appropriately safe place to rest. Tear took a moment to look him over and decided that despite his strange appearance that she could defend herself against him if she had to do so.]

A small rest wouldn't harm me. [She sat down on a nearby bench, not in a rush to do much of anything to be honest.]

[As culd Alister, should the need arise. For the moment, the new arrival didn't seem to pose much of a threat and the old General simply watches her, arms folded over his chest and keeping a keen ear out for any danger.It was simply instinct, at this point, but all the better.]

There are times when it can be dangerous, here. You're best left to gather your senses than to be caught off-guard.

[She gives him a small smile.]

You sound like my old mentor. Since there's been peace on my planet for almost the last two years, I haven't had much reason to be as on guard as I should be here. I'll keep your words in mind.

It's not often I hear one refer to their home Universe in such a sense. Tell me - could you state which galaxy you originate from?

[mysterical]

N-no? The name of my planet is Auldrant. That's all that I know about that. We've not yet explored space. [Although there was a program between Padamiya, Kimlasca and Malkuth in Sheridan to begin to do so with tech that didn't rely on fonons.]

Wait. Are you familiar with either a Colonel Jade Curtiss, or an Emperor Peony?

[mysterical]

[She looked alert at that.]

Yes, I am well-acquainted with both men. Why do you ask?

I am a companion of the Colonel, though I haven't spoken to the Emperor as much. Apparently, I had been here once before, with no recollection of my experiences.

[mysterical]

[She couldn't help but smile at the thought of the two older men here.]

Well, at least life here won't be boring. Emperor Peony is...interesting. And extremely smart for his relatively young age.

Ahh, they're both still young. And still so much to learn, from the sounds of it. Technology in itself is only just blossoming on your planet, from what I've heard.

Not to hear the Colonel speak. He's been suffering from old age his entire life. And I doubt that the emperor would ever admit to the fact that he's closer to forty than thirty now.

And this is a second blossoming for our planet's technology. A lot of the old ways were lost at the end of the Dawn Age.

Sounds like we've got a complainer on our hands. I'll have to keep this in mind.

[A little teasing never hurt anyone. And besides, slipping back into their usual banter might ease a bit of tension caused by the bubble cracking.]

It's strange enough for you to say that to me. I was a spearhead for one of the more technologically advanced races in our galaxy. You'd catch up in no time!

[Well there were the Terachnoids. But had they waged war against an ancient, deadly species and saved the entire galaxy from ultimate destruction? Nope.]

[Tear just looked at him for a moment.]

I'm not sure I even understand what you're talking about. Fontech was never a strong point for me. You're better off talking to Jade or Guy, if he was here.

...it may be a discussion to hold in the near future, yes. Just how familar is the Colonel with this 'fontech'?

Well, Guy was the resident tech in our traveling party, but the Colonel was fairly familiar with the theories that powered most of the tech. It just depends on what it is if you can get him to give you a straight answer. To be honest, if you want someone to talk to about fontech, Guy would suit your purpose better. Or Dist.

And who is this... Dist?

Dist is someone who grew up with Jade and Peony. He's smart, like Jade, but very...special. I suppose that's the right word. He's obsessed with the Colonel and Jade doesn't seem to really like him very well. [Not that Tear blamed him. Dist was extremely annoying for someone who hadn't grown up around him.]

So more of a nuisance than anything else. A loss, truly, but I would prefer to would with someone far more sensible than anything else. We don't need another Qwark here, after all.

Why did I not see this? I'm sorry, Eco!

I'm not sure who Qwark is, but if you're looking for someone sensible to work with, Jade is probably your best bet out of anyone I know. Although, that's once you pique his interests.

Qwark is... hrm. You would have to see him for yourself, but from the sounds of things, he and this 'Dist" would likely be fast friends.

As for the Colonel, he was the one of the first to approach me when I'd arrived in the city for a second time. Or, as much as he's told me. I have a feeling the behaviour would be unusual of he hadn't taken a fondness to someone.

You're right that he's not the type to casually approach another person without a legitimate reason. He's the methodical type, but he prefers to do his watching from afar. And, he only gets involved if it can't be helped.

[She also made a mental note to avoid this Qwark if he did arrive here. Anyone who could be friends with Dist like that was better off avoided, in her opinion.]
