Who: Mephisto and Grell
When: Early evening
Where: Ordo 4 and who knows where else
Style: Starting in third but I'll match!
Status: Closed
[ He was prone to his late night walks. After all, the city did look its best at night, what with the moonlight and the water and the schools of fish passing overhead. Just as he's about to leave for this evening though, he hears the knocking. Normally, it doesn't really faze him. Whoever it is can wait. He'll be there eventually.
But then the knocking turns to pounding and that's when Mephisto decides it be best that he tend to this asap. So he heads to the door, umbrella by the crook of his arm.
There's a pause of surprise though as he spots Grell by his doorway. ]
I knew I'd find you pounding on my door eventually but not this soon...
[ He pauses, shutting the door behind him and offering her his arm. ]
Now then, my dear... what has gotten you so upset that you've come without warning?

With little else place to go, she heads to Ordo 4, not sure if she should even bother Mephisto with her angry moping. She doubts Ronnie would make a good ear to listen to, since he'll probably suggest they just make up because William is an ass.
Grell shrugs and just knocks, but after no answer, she pounds on the door. She will be heard! Once she hears commotion on the other side, she puts down her balled hand before the door opened. His initial remark is not helping her, but at the offer of an arm, she sighs and takes it.]
I've more or less told William to shove it and that he's not invited to our wedding.

I suppose he's had what's coming to him. Now then--
[ Shifting to tug Grell over a bit closer to him. ]
Seeing that you've made your way over here, it would be only right to offer you my hospitality for the evening. It wouldn't be right leaving you alone in such an upset state...

Your hospitality would be quite welcome, as the road ahead is unpaved for an unseen amount of time. At least for many evenings to come in the next few days.
no subject
Then my extended hospitality should be even more welcome than a single night, hm?
[ He's perfectly fine with her hanging off his arm. Just let him shift his umbrella to his other arm for now. ]
Shall we begin with an evening's walk to calm your head before we decide how best to go about this or would you rather spend it indoors?
no subject
I think a stroll would be best, thank you. [This whole situation got her agitated, so a nice walk would help.]
I've intruded enough upon you. Do you think it possible for an unknown amount of time?

[ And with that, she is swept away from his doorstop. ]
We'll make arrangements this very evening. You may stay as long as you wish.

You'll have to forgive me for expecting a few strings to appear about my wrists.

Seriously. ]
Such skepticism is natural. I'd imagine you've seen what your dear William had managed to unearth about me.

[It's just her nature to be wary!]

[ Lightly patting her hand. ]
But I'm sure you've heard them. Untrustworthy, annoying... it never fails.
no subject
[No matter how true it may be.]
no subject
That it is and I most certainly couldn't agree more. But I assure you...
[ Eyes turned up to her as he releases her hand. ]
My intentions are nothing but pure.
[ Or as pure as his go. ]
