Chapter 4 | Bar Fights

When: Early afternoon into the rest of the day.

[Good afternoon Vatheon. Should your character be walking by one of the local restaurants, there will be a loud ruckus going on inside. Why? Because our dashing hero Angelo has unintentionally started a bar fight. The scene shows screaming people (both men and women) who are running out in terror while others are joining in the brawl (throwing furniture, punching, kicking, etc), broken objects (windows, chairs, drink glasses, etc) and lots of shouting. Where is Angelo among this you ask? He's sitting on the bar counter watching everything. Instead of going work at the host club or being around people much these days, this is what he's doing and the fight itself? Not entirely his fault per se. So if your character wants to watch the scene, try to break it up, or even talk to him by coming inside among the madness... It's all up to you!]

[ Well.

Duke isn't feeling up to particularly making a great big show of crossing the room, which he may need to do if he didn't have this particularly handy spell known.

Stop Flow was a bit costly, and rather ridiculous to actually get to work in combat, but this...? Well.

If nothing else, it lets him pause the happenings of this bar long enough to walk over to Angelo. Duke isn't entirely sure what it feels like to be caught on the other side of this spell- when the archer started it, Duke went to stop the casting, but in theory little was noticed, unless he went and punched someone or something while it was active.

So there is a Duke standing near Angelo now. ]

If you may skip for this, may I simply because I do not wish to come?

[Angelo blinks at Duke, unsure of what to expect from him. Though he's rather amused that he'd come to see what was going on.]

Hello Duke. Were you enjoying the show?

[ And something he hadn't seen for a while. He is totally using magic to keep anything from sailing their way. ]

[Being himself, Angelo just shrugs and sits back on the bar counter top.]

I thought it was fun. Of course, I have no idea how it started.

[Yet he does and won't admit it.]

Clearly. An entertaining moment or so. Then you are left with men with broken limbs or missing teeth.

You make it sound like an utter tragedy.

If there was not a coral out there, nor locals to tend to hurts, it might well be.

[ If they didn't have those, Duke would send all the injured people to Angelo. Sitting to the edge and watching? Sure, you don't know how it started. ]

There's a clinic in this city, they could go there.

[Seriously Duke, why send them all to him? He doesn't have time to heal all these people. He also doesn't know how it started, yup.]

[ Obviously he doesn't. Sorry Angelo, he doesn't have that high of an opinion of you in regards to how this situation looks. ]

Accurate. Perhaps another way to word it is that you are fortunate that this seems to be mostly locals.

Well I certainly don't even know how it started in the first place. All I remember is some gentlemen and I playing a game of cards before things got out of hand.

... I may be a recluse, but I had spent a few years among knights - many of whom took the position simply so they can spend time in places like this and play cards.

[ But he's not going to press it more than that. Do what you like, Angelo. ]

Taking the job for the status and the rewards, yet uninterested in the work? It seems to be a human thing.

I'll admit to saying humanity is selfish in that regard. Though I'm sure non-humans aren't without their flaws either.

They are, but I have yet to talk to some that are quite as.... easily corrupted, perhaps, as humans.

[ Duke doesn't realize the mess that is the Trolls- ]

I've spoken to a few non-humans, they are the same as humanity in a way.

[Go Duke, speak to the trolls.]

It likely depends on the individuals, as it does somewhat with humans.

[ Almost grudgingly. Guess who doesn't like people at all. ]
