I’ve been testing how strong my will to act is

[Somewhere on the beach, a Pokemon is stretching his arms out like a human getting ready to work out. He looks somewhat concerned, though, even as he moves about, and soon enough he's joined by a certain lanky, green haired teen.]

Yes, I'm sure. It won't do to have either of us get lazy and unmotivated now.

[Zoroark drops his arms and whines. N is devoid of his usual hat, his wrist cuff and bangles and even his necklace and his Void Cube as well as his white over shirt. He's more or less down to his black turtleneck and his tan pants, which are rolled up at the cuffs to just below his knees showing that he's also lacking shoes. He takes a somewhat awkward stance across from Zoroark, and answers whatever it is that he whined about with a faintly exasperated sigh.]

I'll be fine. Why are you so concerned? We've done this plenty of times before. Now, come on.

[N motions with a hand for Zoroark to come at him.

And it starts. Zoroark charges forward, attempting to tackle N. The teen jumps to the side, surprisingly quick with his dodge. While N lacks physical strength, he does have speed on his side, and it's obvious to anyone who might come across this sight that the two of them have done this before. It's not a battle like Pokemon are used to, but it keeps Zoroark sharp in the event that something does happen.

This will go on until either N gets hit by one of those weakened attacks, or some one comes along to interrupt them.]

[ Yes, Shiemi most likely comes from a world where Pokemon may be in game form. No, Shiemi is way too sheltered to even know what that is, mun's guessing. ]

Yes, Pokemon. Creatures native to the world I come from - they come in all shapes, sizes, types and breeds, and are often befriended and trained by humans for a variety of causes, including battling.

I see. Well... they're not common here at all. There's a few trainers who have brought Pokemon with them, and I've heard a few eggs have been passed around, but it's not nearly the population levels that were back in Unova or any of the other regions.

Ah, I see... are they very numerous in your home world? How many people have Pokemon for their own use?

Aside from humans, Pokemon are the most populous species in our world.

649 Pokemon have been registered in Unova and the surrounding regions, but there are new ones being discovered every day.

Many aren't native to Unova, so I've only encountered maybe... a hundred or so, possibly more.

Most of them live in the wild anyway. Don't you have wild creatures in your world?

Ah, I see... that's still a lot of Pokemon, I think.

We do, but not the kind of creatures you speak of.

What kind of creatures then?

Well... nothing special. Just... regular creatures.

[ Beat. ]

But in my case, we also have various ghosts, demons, and other supernatural creatures that we face on a regular basis.

What do you mean 'regular', though? Your definition and mine seem to be completely different.

... what do you mean, supernatural? Ghost and psychic type Pokemon exist but demons are a thing of fables.

As in creatures like cats, dogs and other animals that don't have the special abilities or appearances that your Pokemon have.

And that's where we have another difference, too... in our world, demons and supernatural creatures exist. I should know; one of my closest friends is one...

I suppose there's some truth to that. Still, I don't know if I would want to associate with demons willingly.

Well... like I said before, Rin doesn't fit the traditional description of a demon. He's more of a happy dork!

Plus, I'm pretty sure he's only half demon, not... a full demon.
