Coral Restoration Log [closed to those in the teams]
Monday morning, bright and early, Station Master gathers those that signed on to help out, bringing them down via the elevator, before sealing it off, making it impossible for anyone to go up or down.
This is it. This is the day. We are going to fix the coral or... not fix it, really.
[ooc: please check each individual thread for more information. Also, as for the attack/defence part of the log, we are willing to play out the fights for you (apart from the NPC fight which will for sure be played out by us) however, we have given you the skills/attack patterns of the monsters, so if you'd rather, for the sake of speediness, play out the monster yourself, that is also fine, just let us know.]

Re: Team North--Jade, Dirk, Leo, Guy (using brackets for speed gomen)
Now this is some team work.
Mod OK'd - hooray for OOC tags getting eaten. x_X
Hang on. Lemme try this on one of the cracks!
[A certain girl, who had caught up with the group just before they left, pulled a drill out, jamming it directly into the crack and starting it up.]
If this works, we'll be down in no time!

Instead, he stands close, occasionally flashstepping in and back away again when a chunk of rubble is broken off in a piece small enough to move, all the while keeping an eye out for any sign of mechanics.]
It's only likely to be a few feet at best, so careful where you're flailing things.
no subject
If we can get in there and have a look around, we can figure out how much space we're really going to need. Don't get too crazy.
[Guy's in about the same situation as Dirk - besides, he's more prepped for smaller work, not heavy-duty destruction... unless they wanted a controlled explosion, and that wasn't looking to be helpful right now. So for the moment, he only keeps an eye out, moving what rubble he can. Might as well let the girls (and Leo) have at it until they had a better look of what they were working on.
Well. As long as nothing else broke in the process.]

[And she shrinks the Big-Ass Drill back down to its normal size to put it back in her sylladex. The surface broke open nicely enough, with the hammer and the other drill going at it, they should have a cozy little hole to climb down soon enough.]
I can't wait to see what's down there, I would have never thought that the coral was a machine.
[Someone's a little excited.]
no subject
From what I understand, it's not. It just has machines kibitzed all over it!
*After a bit, Pascal stops.*
Those are what we're going to need to fix - and quickly!

Let's get to it. If anyone needs a tool that they don't already have or any replacement pieces, just ask me and I can get it. [He triumphantly taps his tool belt] I've got it covered.
no subject
[Dirk leans in toward the hole to try and get a good glimpse of what's inside.]
Can't say for sure 'til we know what shit we're dealing with, but sounds like you've got shit in hand regardless. Now c'mon, let's see if there's poison gas or wire traps waiting for us.
[And despite that very negative statement, Dirk immediately steps forward and starts to make his way down to the bottom of the hole. Being a skinny teenager comes in handy sometimes.]
no subject
[Guy's only steps behind Dirk, flashlight pulled out and immediately flicked on the minute the teen stepped forward. He might not have a good view from here at the very moment, but the light should at least get Dirk a decent view of the cavern below them. Guy's not too keen on just relying on the coral's glow to light their work.]
no subject
I can go last, I have a light of my own. [And she flicks up a green glow of space magic to illustrate her point.]
no subject
Oh! Just gotta kachunk a buncha wires back into place! Preferably without electricy death! That's not so bad!
no subject
Don't touch that round device near the center unless you want to get burned. [He can sense the heat from where he stands with his demigod abilities, but it's not radiating heat to where the others would notice until they touched it.]
I'll tackle that one first. [He walks over to it and cups it in his hands, it's hot but it doesn't bother him at all. He speaks to the device.] Hang in there little buddy. I'll have you fixed up in no time.
no subject
[Dirk nods and keeps away from the device in the center, and pulls a pair of wirecutters out of his sylladex.]
Dude, think you can rig up that light so you don't have to keep holding it? Let's get the tricky shit done first.
no subject
It doesn't look very functional and it's sure messy as hell. But hey, they made it work up until things went awry, plus they managed to keep it hidden from everyone else.
You have to wonder how much thought actually went into it.
no subject
"The whole thing looks like it was made on the fly. If we had time, we could probably do a totally better job of it!"
*Pascal, for her part, was focusing on the wiring for now - burnt and broken sections were easily replaced, after all.*
no subject
[Oh hey guys Jade was just hovering down into the hole with her hand a-glowing to provide light for herself.]
Or need to be powered by that compound he mentioned. ["He" meaning the station master obviously.
She pulls up her sylladex and flicks through it to see what sort of tools could be pulled out for the moment.]
no subject
I could have done a better job on this than they did when I was 5. [He really could have.]
no subject
Hell, we have the time to do something better than this shitty job, even if it's just making it neater. Might as well, so we don't have to do it again later when shit gets fucked.
no subject
[Guy has to roll his eyes a bit at the exclamations from others on the team - sure, confidence was great, but there wasn't any need to let that go over their heads.
He's made his way over to another corner of machinery, popping open the front of the contraption with a tool tucked behind his ear.]
No need to get cocky, guys. Once we finish on the small stuff, we can start to reorganize.
no subject
There! That section's good as it was new.
*Pascal cooly moves on to another.*
In the long run, once we have it working, we'd be well-served to figure out how to re-engineer it a few sections at a time - but you're right, right now, we need to focus on getting it working.
no subject
[Regardless, she pops out a tool from her sylladex and sets to work as well. Carefully, going into a mode of concentration that seems like it will allow no more talking.
So at least there's that.]
no subject
[He keeps at the round device, rewiring it and adding a few extras to safeguard it from frying again. It would be awful if they got it all fixed only for this thing to go haywire again. There wasn't the time for a complete redesign on it.]
[When he finishes he moves onto the next broken device and makes quick work of it. Unlike the round device, this one doesn't need to be completely rewired.]
How's everyone coming along?
no subject
[Dirk continues working, though in the back of his head he's still mulling over a redesign. He's never been one to abandon a project just because there's a method that already exists in place, not when it could be better. But there's a giant hole leading down here. They can always come back.]
no subject
I'm doing fine over here. Ladies, how about you?
no subject
I'm doing well enough... Okay, that wire goes there, this one there...
Some of these wire sets are really, really tangled together.
