Coral Restoration Log [closed to those in the teams]

Monday morning, bright and early, Station Master gathers those that signed on to help out, bringing them down via the elevator, before sealing it off, making it impossible for anyone to go up or down.

This is it. This is the day. We are going to fix the coral or... not fix it, really.

[ooc: please check each individual thread for more information. Also, as for the attack/defence part of the log, we are willing to play out the fights for you (apart from the NPC fight which will for sure be played out by us) however, we have given you the skills/attack patterns of the monsters, so if you'd rather, for the sake of speediness, play out the monster yourself, that is also fine, just let us know.]

"The whole thing looks like it was made on the fly. If we had time, we could probably do a totally better job of it!"

*Pascal, for her part, was focusing on the wiring for now - burnt and broken sections were easily replaced, after all.*

We totally could, and it'd certainly never flicker out again!

[Oh hey guys Jade was just hovering down into the hole with her hand a-glowing to provide light for herself.]

Or need to be powered by that compound he mentioned. ["He" meaning the station master obviously.

She pulls up her sylladex and flicks through it to see what sort of tools could be pulled out for the moment.]

[Leo's making quick work of diagnosing and fixing the device he's working on, pulling out items from his tool belt as he needs them then hooking them on the outside so he can get them quickly without worrying about cool down times.]

I could have done a better job on this than they did when I was 5. [He really could have.]

[Dirk slides his way in among the machinery- there's one good thing about being a skinny teenager, and being able to work in uncomfortable places is one of them.]

Hell, we have the time to do something better than this shitty job, even if it's just making it neater. Might as well, so we don't have to do it again later when shit gets fucked.

That's one way of putting it.

[Guy has to roll his eyes a bit at the exclamations from others on the team - sure, confidence was great, but there wasn't any need to let that go over their heads.

He's made his way over to another corner of machinery, popping open the front of the contraption with a tool tucked behind his ear.]

No need to get cocky, guys. Once we finish on the small stuff, we can start to reorganize.

There! That section's good as it was new.

*Pascal cooly moves on to another.*

In the long run, once we have it working, we'd be well-served to figure out how to re-engineer it a few sections at a time - but you're right, right now, we need to focus on getting it working.

If you call saying that we could do a better job than something as sloppy as this cocky, okay then, it's cocky. I call it cleaning up your silly dog's mess.

[Regardless, she pops out a tool from her sylladex and sets to work as well. Carefully, going into a mode of concentration that seems like it will allow no more talking.

So at least there's that.]

[Leo starts humming the mission impossible theme as they work.]

[He keeps at the round device, rewiring it and adding a few extras to safeguard it from frying again. It would be awful if they got it all fixed only for this thing to go haywire again. There wasn't the time for a complete redesign on it.]

[When he finishes he moves onto the next broken device and makes quick work of it. Unlike the round device, this one doesn't need to be completely rewired.]

How's everyone coming along?

At this rate, we'll be done in no time.

[Dirk continues working, though in the back of his head he's still mulling over a redesign. He's never been one to abandon a project just because there's a method that already exists in place, not when it could be better. But there's a giant hole leading down here. They can always come back.]

[The inside of the box is an absolute mess - messy and fried to a crisp. Geez. Thankfully, a simple rewiring job isn't the end of the world. Within a couple minutes, Guy's already reorganized the contents of the box, fiddling with one of the new connections.]

I'm doing fine over here. Ladies, how about you?

I'm doing well enough... Okay, that wire goes there, this one there...

Some of these wire sets are really, really tangled together.
