Coral Restoration Log [closed to those in the teams]
Monday morning, bright and early, Station Master gathers those that signed on to help out, bringing them down via the elevator, before sealing it off, making it impossible for anyone to go up or down.
This is it. This is the day. We are going to fix the coral or... not fix it, really.
[ooc: please check each individual thread for more information. Also, as for the attack/defence part of the log, we are willing to play out the fights for you (apart from the NPC fight which will for sure be played out by us) however, we have given you the skills/attack patterns of the monsters, so if you'd rather, for the sake of speediness, play out the monster yourself, that is also fine, just let us know.]

The genius just smiles as Dwight and Tech mentioned tools and just gave Tech's device a quick glance. "A cute little device~. You might even get to use it."
Meanwhile, she's just.. waiting for Darkleer to finish his work so they can get started~.

"The hole is ready. Go in first, and we'll make sure there isn't a cave in." The robot is already shuffling things aside, making it harder for any rocks to even accidentally roll back down to clog up the hole into the tunnels where the roots of the coral are. With everything that could happen, Darkleer doesn't think there's such a thing as 'too careful'.

He hitched up his bag, casting another quick, weary glance at the gun before ducking and starting into the hole. "Really considerate of you." He murmured, looking around at the weird...whatevers that were now around them.

It seemed that Darkleer managed to clear the hole without his help. Unsurprisingly, the roots of the coral resembled, well, a root structure. More interestingly, there appeared to be synthetic wiring woven in, looking almost like natural root hairs.
"My Coral Metering Device is still attached to the main body," Luckily he'd had the foresight to make it waterproof. "I can measure any energy signatures remotely. That should give us an indication as to whether our repairs are succeeding or not."

"Interesting structure. I'd love to study it after we're done." The way the wires were woven in and integrated with the coral's natural systems was definitely something worth studying and perhaps reverse engineering later. If she ever got the chance to.
"Hopefully."
Washu took one more look around before pretty much making her way to the nearest accessible point of the root system and activating her holo computer to begin typing away. A few moments later she begins to point.
"The best possible point to start the repairs on are here, here and here." She even pops up a screen with a diagram for them to see. "Have fun and don't electrocute yourself~."

Darkleer pokes his head down into the opening, partially to make conversation easier and partially so he can get a better look at this whole fascinating system himself. He'll have to take pictures for himself. If what the Station Master said was correct, then it's highly unlikely they'll get a chance to inspect this area again anytime soon.

He reaches over and points to a spot on the diagram, "I'll take that spot." He hefted his bag a little, "I don't have anything fancy so...sorry if I curse a few times." He took another look around then glanced at Washu, "What if there's a wire that's...rhetorically too damaged to repair. Should I just...get rid of it and not worry where it ends up?"
no subject
Already examining the tangles on his own, he said, "If I may. Our repairs should be a fairly mechanical process--barring unforeseen circumstances of course," He moves to a wall, idly tracing a glowing root. "Replacing and repairing the wires should be a simple process, but hardly an informative one. Yet, here we are, underneath the coral, with a research opportunity that may not present itself again. Perhaps it would behoove us to take advantage of it, yes?"
Their situation was dire, sure, but certainly not so immediate as to force them to pass up a chance for science.
Right?

"If there is wire too damaged to repair, let me know and I'll replace it. The Same goes for if you need any tools. I can provide what you lack." Even if it doesn't look like it.
Washu takes another glance at the diagram and contemplates something before glancing at Tech. "Of course we're going to do a little research, but the repairs come first. The faster we get them done, the quicker we can get to the fun part."
