Coral Restoration Log [closed to those in the teams]
Monday morning, bright and early, Station Master gathers those that signed on to help out, bringing them down via the elevator, before sealing it off, making it impossible for anyone to go up or down.
This is it. This is the day. We are going to fix the coral or... not fix it, really.
[ooc: please check each individual thread for more information. Also, as for the attack/defence part of the log, we are willing to play out the fights for you (apart from the NPC fight which will for sure be played out by us) however, we have given you the skills/attack patterns of the monsters, so if you'd rather, for the sake of speediness, play out the monster yourself, that is also fine, just let us know.]

East
Much like the giant, it has an ice core, its only weak spot. The ice covering it is rather thin. One good hit and it could fracture. But where the water of the giant is clear and easy to see through, the water making up this creature is murkier, making it harder to spy the core unless you manage to mark the original copy in some way. Else you'll be stuck whacking down copies until you hit the right one!

The words heralded Daimon Masaru leaping out to strike at the water-like golem, digi-soul flaring around his fist. He threw a punch at the creature, which rippled through the water and caused it to "explode" out the back...

As Masaru stared, dumbfounded, the second "beast" whipped out with one of its vaguely formed arms, extending it outward and... well, grabbing Masaru by the face.
The street fighter let out a choked yell as he was thrown back into the nearest wall.

He rushes one of the watery constructs, seemingly to try to strike it as well. However, instead of simply punching it, he slaps his hand to the ground near its feet, releasing a dome-shaped shockwave of magical energy to slam into the offending monster.

He's probably fine, most of the people Maka is acquainted with are tougher than they look. She concentrates on the matter of the monster in front of her--the other man on their team attacked it, but it had split off into two before then. It's probably a ruse, a diversion to keep the ragtag team from getting at whatever will destroy it.
Concentrate... Maka's not certain how helpful Soul Perception would be in this case, but--
"What's that?"
She's not talking to anybody but herself, of course, but her attention is caught by something shining inside of one of the monsters, not present in the other. It's not a soul, per se, but she feels something from it regardless, a sort of living pulse, a spark of magic. Then--
"Attack the one on the left!" Maka readies her scythe to do just that herself.

And now there's four, making two on the left.
They seem to realize Maka has identified them, so they target her first, the pair not formed the left creature rushing to bear down upon her while the second one on the left targets Dhaos, effectively guarding the true version of the monster.

Dhaos backs off a bit to give himself time to think, and prevent the creatures from grabbing him. If physical attacks are only causing them to split, then perhaps... He looks over at Maka as he begins charging for a spell that will rain fire upon their watery heads.
"Would you kindly keep them distracted for a moment? I need a little time to cast."

Dhaos is speaking to her, though caught in the middle of things all she can do is look up and nod in his direction. "Masaru, let's get 'em!" She's not afraid, they're not going to intimidate her into dodging, she'll run right to them and match their speed with her own as she slices at the monsters.

There were six now; the four more miniature ones, and two that were larger sized.

Fists flashing with digi-soul, he targeted the two larger ones, intent on hitting them both with a series of one-two punches.

Ugh, small fry, that was exactly what she needed, guess cleaving them won't work. But what else can she do? She hasn't actually used this scythe before in battle. Maka holds it out in front of her and shakes it at the four smaller monsters insistently. "Come on, you stupid thing, do something else!"
Apparently hearing this command, the scythe responds by sending out a solid wall of heat at the four smaller ones, either reducing them to steam or at least annoying the hell out of them.
"...Uh." Well that's different.

... which wasted no time in swinging an extending arm at Maka, intent on quite literally slugging her in the face.
The one Masaru was fighting, meanwhile... actually molded a hole in itself, effectively making Masaru's fist pass right through it... and then it closed the gap.
2/2
Masaru's eyes widened as his arm became stuck inside the water creature's body. He didn't have much time to react in any other way, as both the monster and its equally-sized double started furiously punching at him.
The street fighter let out a pained yell as he was struck repeatedly, but he remained on his feet as he tried to pull his arm free. No matter how much he flared his digi-soul, it didn't seem to be enough.
"... Oy!" Masaru grunted as he was hit again. "Wizard guy! If you're gonna do something, do it now, okay?!"

Belatedly, Dhaos realizes that he forgot to include the component of the spell that would leave allies completely unharmed. He maaaay have just set Masaru on fire a tiny bit...
no subject
But then she realizes that Masaru was in the center of the blast and scrapes up to her feet. "Masaru! Masaru!" Oh god, is he going to be okay?
no subject
However... moments later, the steam flowed back to the original monster, coalescing and reforming. Now it stood there, back in its original size.

Without hesitation, Dhaos places himself between Masaru and the monster, and begins charging another spell. "Absorb the flames before they cause permanent damage, and let me know where to aim."
no subject
Huh. Guess when your boyfriend goes around fighting while on fire, you'll inevitably pick that up too.
Maka's eyes flick up to the monster--having coalesced back to its original form finally--seeing if she can pick out the pulse of the something that obviously makes it live. Ultimately she can't grasp onto it again and goes by memory. "It's reformed completely. Aim for the center of its chest!"

"Dammit," he growled, angry at himself. He could have avoided a lot of pain if he'd just used his digi-soul more wisely. But nevertheless...
... "Thanks Maka," he said, getting up. He was visibly burned, along with portions of his clothes and hair, but he looked like he could stand at the very least.

A moment later, it was charging straight at the sorceror, with a surprising amount of speed, intent on crushing him beneath a watery fist.
