It has been quite the few days, hasn't it been, Vatheon? That conversation appearing on the network --just who had posted that, anyway?-- the experiment and then the collapse of the bubble and the evacuation. It certainly kept everybody's hands quite busy and full. But now that things are looking at little more calm, with far fewer trips needed to ferry things from down in the bubble up to the island, Station Master makes his move, abandoning his post to seek out people. Who? Well, just about anyone. He seems to avoid groups, instead seeking out people while they are alone, whether wrapped up in some activity, or moving from on place to the other. His purpose? Unclear for now, but if you are a foreigner and you are on the island, you may very well find yourself with a sudden Station Master at your side.

What would make you say that?

[Highblood that he is, he won't admit to something like that so easily- it might be a trick after all. Besides... No one is supposed to see him when he taps into the Void like that. This just makes him more suspicious.]

[Like realizing when someone is staring quite STRONGLY at your ongoings.]

I'm not upset. Perhaps this will make things easier. I'm certain you have noticed I have been setting something up, correct?

I have. It is partially the reason I have been watching you. Once when we let your kind fiddle with things freely, some of us were kidnapped.

I would apologize for that, but I have a feeling apologies are not what you are looking for.

What if I told you there is a possibility we can fix the barrier.

Then I would ask why we need to.

[Darkleer crosses his arms, using every bit of his height.]

Things may have been good within the city, but I think that this relocation in the end will make us better. We were relying too much on the coral and the supplies you freely gave us. My matesprit made notice of it once long ago, and the more I've come to learn of your scientists and the priestess, the more I think him right. Whether they've truly abandoned us or not, independence will help us.

We can't afford to rely on the coral and your experiment.

Is a lab animal that claims part of its cage truly free?

You may have escape the bubble below, but do not forget it is not the only barrier there is.

If it means exerting a little bit of independence, yes.

Still, I doubt you'll leave this alone just because I think we should stay on the island. What would the cost be to repair the barrier? That young man seemed to take quite a blow in his attempt.

I believe those details would best be discussed when all those that are willing to help are present. I am well aware that you have no reason to trust me, though I am not your enemy. That is why this friday evening, I will discuss everything I know that is relevant to this situation. Afterwards, you are free to decide what to do with that information. Perhaps repair the barrier, or perhaps remain here. The choice is up to you.

Can we get a guarantee that this is not a trap?

What would you like me to offer you as a guarantee?

I think that depends on what you have to offer.

[You guys are kind of mysterious, after all, he doesn't actually know what he can wrangle out of you.]

I fear I have far less to offer than you might imagine. Which is to say my allegiance may lay elsewhere than where you are expecting them to lie.

I will tell you the same thing I have told miss Zelda. I have no objection to you inspecting the premises, however there is one thing I must request. There will be devices in each corner of the room that should not be disturbed once they are turned on.

Moved or dismantled. They are quite crucial to the meeting.

You are allowed to. In fact, I am willing to provide you with the schematics of the devices as well.
