It has been quite the few days, hasn't it been, Vatheon? That conversation appearing on the network --just who had posted that, anyway?-- the experiment and then the collapse of the bubble and the evacuation. It certainly kept everybody's hands quite busy and full. But now that things are looking at little more calm, with far fewer trips needed to ferry things from down in the bubble up to the island, Station Master makes his move, abandoning his post to seek out people. Who? Well, just about anyone. He seems to avoid groups, instead seeking out people while they are alone, whether wrapped up in some activity, or moving from on place to the other. His purpose? Unclear for now, but if you are a foreigner and you are on the island, you may very well find yourself with a sudden Station Master at your side.

"He'll be fine." Even though Shiro had only known Kid for a few months, he didn't seem like the type to wallow in a serious failure like that. "What we need to focus on now is fixing the bubble."

Station Master's smile broadens just a bit. "Indeed. What if I told you I believe I know a way to fix it?"

"I'd be interested to hear more," Shiro answers, grinning as well. He thought that someone might know what to do about this mess, he just had to find the right person.

"Then I would like to invite you to attend the meeting I am having this friday evening. I believe it would be best to speak to everybody at once so we can fully discuss this matter. We must strive to prevent another accident occurring. I do not think what remains of the bubble could take another hit."

"I think I can make it to that." It's not like he has much else to do right now. "Where are we meeting?"

"Are you familiar with the storage building nearest to the elevator? It is the largest one. Some of our provisions have been stored in there."

Shiro did know about that building, but there is one problem with it. "Will everyone fit in there?"

Excellent concerns. "I hope so. It is larger than it looks. It may be a tight fit, but we will have to bear with it. I do not believe it will be smart to host a meeting like that in the open air."

"Why, are you anticipating trouble?"

Shiro should have known, it sounded too good to be true.

Everything always is.

"Do you honestly believe there are no methods of monitoring you while you are up on this island?"

"Oh no, I know we're being watched. But it sounds like your idea isn't exactly something the people monitoring us would like."

That's the read he's getting on this, at least. Shiro holds no loyalty to them, though, so he can be easily swayed either way.

"I think they would not... appreciate me taking initiative in this manner. And quite frankly, I'd rather not have them find out I was involved in it."

"Trust me, they're going to find out eventually. The more you want to keep a secret, the faster it gets let out. But I think we can manage to keep it quiet until after your plan takes place. It's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission, right?"

"Oh yes, I imagine they will. But when they do, I'd rather it be on my terms, and mine alone." He smiles, with rather less joviality to it and more steel.

It is always the old men you have to be wary of.
