i've got something to tell ya [closed]

Who: Liz and Kid
When: idk some time this week
Where: the Villa
Style: [ probably this because fuck it ]
Status: Closed 8U

[ So.

This pretty much sucks.

Liz has spent the last few days picking up every last crumb, sweeping up every last dust bunny, and reordering everything like she's possessed. Or maybe like she's a certain child of a certain death god. Who knows. The whole thing is just eerie.

At the moment, she's on her hands and knees in front of the couch in the living room with a pair of scissors. She might be snipping string hanging off the bottom of the couch.

Kid your life is hard. ]

What even happened here? [Her other hand reaches up to clasp onto Kid's.] It sounded like--

[Like he had been given news he couldn't handle?]

Like you were arguing.

Oh. Shit... seriously... ?

[Rin had been told. Of course second hand knowledge only gave so much, but everything he heard painted a mental image to him of some one who was just as bad or worse than the demons he had to deal with back home.

And he had also found out that via his biological father, he was related to some of the worst of those demons. The Eight Demon Kings of Gehenna, one of whom was actually there in Vatheon (and another who was no longer there) were also his brothers by birthright. A fact that he, too, only came to know completely in Vatheon thanks to Maka realizing it.

He didn't blame Kid for having a completely and utter breakdown over it. The Kishin sounded to him like some one that would put even the most awful Demon King to shame, and the way Kid had always spoken so highly of his father...

There wasn't anything Rin could come up with to say to Liz regard it, words dying in his throat the longer he tried to find something that could voice how he understood what Kid was going through. He was looking past Liz, at Kid, hearing Maka ask what was going on and torn between letting Kid explain to her directly or passing on the information himself.]

Geez... Kid...

[That Kid only sits, his fingers tangling with Maka's and head hanging from the defeated slope of his shoulders makes the choice clear: he isn't in any state to go explaining himself, and he hasn't the benefit of adrenaline to push him past the immediate sense of shock.

He's not sure what to think, and so he reviews it, staring at the space between Maka's knees and the toes of his own shoes, tries to sort out the mess his thoughts have become.

The Kishin.

His father's other son, the embodiment of Fear, the most dangerous source of Madness itself in their world.]

How?

[How can it be? The difference is too great. Order and Madness, so different from each other.

And his Father had never given so much as a hint as to the Kishin's origins.

Did he disappoint his Father? Was he simply insufficient to trust with the truth?

Was he worried, perhaps, that his second son would go the route of the first? That's a threat all too real, where Kid has lost himself to madness before, and has had certain controlled tastes of it since.

What has he done, tying himself to two wonderful people? They have to deal with this? With him? And with such a certain history--

Pulling his hands from Maka's, he covers his face.]

Have I been fooling myself, trying to become something worthy to take my Father's place?
