Living in hope
Who: Sola and anyone
Where: Plaza, in front of the coral
When: After his network post
Status: Open to all
[Sola isn't stupid. He's naive and gullible, yes, but he isn't plain stupid. Somewhere, deep down, he knows that sitting here in front of the coral and wishing or hoping or even praying won't bring Link back. It hadn't brought Ion back, or any of his other friends who'd been tossed back to their own worlds.
But what if, this time...?
He'd sat with Darkleer for a time before, watching the coral, and not too long after Signless had returned. He'd sat in front of the coral for days after waking up and finding Johnny had died and his matesprit had come back to him. There's just as much of a chance that Link could return.
Right?
He has to hope. Because without hope, what else is there? Maybe he's stubborn, maybe he even knows it's futile, but he has to hope.
So here he is, sitting on the ground in front of the massive edifice of undersea polyps. Waiting. Watching.
Hoping.]

[Sola blinks at Gamzee's telling of it, drinking in every word curiously. He knows Hyrule was created by the three goddesses who also created the different races and watch over them as best they can, but these ringmasters of Gamzee's sound different.]
They have faces like how you put on your makeup? Have you seen them?

[100% proven by faith exactly. No science needed. Ever.]
Yeah. All us motherfuckin' believers got to painting our snouts what in fuckin' respect to the truths they filled up our faith sponges tight with.
[A little shake of the head then for the latter part of the question.]
And naw, ain't never laid lookstub at them, but I know they be real. Sometimes a motherfucker just know, you know? You know it here.
[He touches his chest for a moment.]

Yeah, sometimes you do just know things.
[He looks back up at the coral, rolling all of this new information over in his head.]
If the coral can't help, can the messiahs?

Gamzee nods. Sola gets it. Sometimes faith is just enough. That's what it is faith for. If you got to explaining everything, it wouldn't be faith.]
Maybe. I can't speak for them, lil' bro. The motherfuckers got plans laid down what I can't even be getting my imagine on at. You just gotta hold the faith that no matter what goes the fuck down, shit'll be all right in the end.

[Was it in the 'plan' for Link to die? Was it planned for he and Ion to only have a single life, made to replace other people? Sola's voice gets quiet when he responds, pulling his knees to his chest and resting his chin on them.]
If that's true I'm not sure I like parts of this plan.

[Well, there was the pit but... look at Sola. Look at this dude. Was this the face of a dude what would ever end up in Hell's pit? No it was not, as per Gamzee's point of view. Sure, he ain't faithful, but he's still good, and he's sure his Messiahs recognize things like that.]

[He learns new words every time he talks to you, Gamzee.
Still, the way he talks about it, it's so comforting and nice, about miracles and brightness. He's glad Gamzee decided to join him. He feels somewhat better just for the company.]

Paradise, man, paradise.

[The Sacred Realm is sometimes viewed as a paradise, or at least the gateway to paradise, in Hyrulian lore but it's more because the Triforce is there and on that you can wish for anything. The way Gamzee talks, paradise is a much more achievable thing and it piques Sola's interest.]
What's it like?

[He gestures with his free hand, as if trying to paint a picture.]
Just fuckin' picture it: the most baller of miracle hoods where all us faith-having motherfuckers be equal. No fucker there what gonna be caring at what colour your swill be or the way your snout looks or any of that shit. Just all of us together as one big motherfuckin' family with the most special of star dust snowing on our nugs and, oh fuck, any flavour of faygo you can be thinkin' of and it'll be there. Even the ones they don't up and fuckin' make anymore.
[That is what heaven is. Discontinued shitty soda.]

The idea of paradise though, the idea that you can see all your friends and no one is unhappy or unequal, that he likes. If he could get there, he has a feeling it wouldn't matter that he's a replica. He wouldn't feel incomplete or anything, just... peaceful and accepted.]
Like pumpkin? Do they make pumpkin faygo?
[Of course, the thought is nice, but he's too afraid to ask more, afraid he'll find he's not suited for somewhere like that, afraid that since Ion and Link had never heard of it there's no chance they'd be there. He'll just ask about the shitty soda.]
no subject
[He ponders that question for a moment. He has never had pumpkin faygo, but that meant nothing. And this was shangri-la.]
You know, I bet if a bro got an appetite at that stuff, it'd be there. It's fuckin' paradise, you know? Anything what your pump be desiring be there.
no subject
[A sudden thought strikes him.]
Can you see people who aren't dead yet in Shangri-la? I don't... um..
[He swallows, not wanting to think about it, but the truth is that the vampire will likely outlive him. He's lived for 700 years already, after all, and Sola always feels that death is creeping around corners because he doesn't really belong...
But he doesn't want to be without Johnny.]
no subject
Shangri-la comes when the Messiahs fuckin' come to blow this motherfuckin' faygo stand, you get? They're gonna bring all us motherfuckers.
no subject
[That would be bad too! Johnny shouldn't have to die unless he wants to and only if he can come to paradise. From the way he talks, he seems to think he'll go somewhere else and all the somewhere elses Sola can think of are not very nice.]
