[It comes as a somewhat unpleasant shock to suddenly awaken, drenched. The water mixes with the not-quite-dry blood in Tiir's clothes, with tears in them indicating that at least some of the blood is likely his own, creating a bit of a watery bloody mess. His eyes are red—and not in his usual manner, that is—like he's been crying recently. Ah—?
[—Not that he gets the time to, as there's suddenly there's a local up in his personal bubble with a towel, wiping at his hair, face, and anywhere there's blood, really. Tiir's gut instinct is 'kill her', before quickly reminding himself that that would be a Bad Thing, and likewise deciding that even knocking her unconscious would probably be excessive force (and he never expected to think that about a human, but, well, things have changed).
And so, as he tries to decide just how much force he can use to stop her while still not being rude, exactly, he protests, though his voice is hoarse, as if his throat's been torn to shreds.]
I'm not some child, so don't touch me, hu—
[Wait, no. Using "human" as an insult is also a Bad Thing. Trying to overcome his hatred, right. Reminding himself of that, Tiir settles for more... normal protests that ultimately seem to have no effect as he attempts to back away.]
Honestly, I'm fine.
[... Ryner told him to trust humans, but he didn't tell him how to deal with fussy humans who apparently have no concept of personal space, damn it.
Help him out? (Or ignore him and his awkward misery—)]

At the question, he looks away for a moment, his expression grimmer as well, before he lets out a sigh.]
We... were under attack.
no subject
. . . Okay, maybe it wasn't that obvious. She notices how his expression darkens, too. Definitely not a topic she'll want to dwell on, but she can't exactly shake away her curiosity that easily either.]
'We'?
no subject
[He vaguely gestures in the direction of his eyes to indicate just what exactly his friends are.]
It was one person. I don't know how he got past our traps, but he did, and...
[He pauses.]
... Do you recall that dream I had?
no subject
. . . She gives a nod, though her demeanor is notably not a confident one.]
A little bit. It's . . . been a while.
no subject
He's seen this family die often enough, and to see Ene die was by far the worst wound.]
... There was a girl in it—my leader. In my dream, she was killed.
no subject
So . . . that actually happened?
no subject
And after how adamant I was that it was nothing but a dream—rather pathetic, isn't it?
[Even now, he certainly wishes it were nothing more than a dream, though by this point, he's too glad that there was more to it than that to fully care anymore.]
no subject
[Which is probably the closest to "don't be so hard on yourself" as she'll get. She's not sure what else to say, yet . . . but she's seen that expression on him before.
Yeah, she'll be treading carefully.]
no subject
... He really is just too tired by this point.]
Well, either way, I'm glad that reality continued where the dream ended. That girl in my dream—Ene, my leader—was killed, but... she's alive now.
[He laughs quietly, briefly—but above all, relieved.]
She's alive now. Really, that's all that matters to me.
no subject
She lets those thoughts stew for a while, seeing how relieved he is while he explains.]
That does change things, doesn't it . . . ? You must've been surprised when you saw her again.
[She knows that feeling all too well.]
no subject
[He smiles weakly.]
To see someone you saw die just moments ago live again—it truly is amazing.
[Of course, it didn't come without a price—none that Tiir had to pay, as far as he's concerned, but a price for her, Lieral, and Ryner.
Still, while he's sorry that Ryner had to suffer in his place, he's grateful beyond anything that Lieral gave Ene life again, as he wasn't sure if he'd have been able to go on back then.]
no subject
[Maybe it hadn't been 'moments ago' for her. In the case of Minato, it felt like forever ago since that day on the rooftop; and in Shinjiro-senpai's case, it'd been months. Several months.
But still . . .]
To have access to magic like that. That is pretty amazing.
no subject
[... Things certainly did turn out weirdly. From trying to kill Lieral to working with him (even if only because Ene told him) to being in his debt forever—]
no subject
Well, then, that uh. Sounds . . . pretty awkward. She does look a little surprised.]
Sounds like you got lucky he was willing to help. Things must've changed, huh?
no subject
Well, after my attempt to kill him, Ene decided to form a partnership of sorts with him, so he spent some time around our group.
[He shrugs.]
You can imagine that I wasn't exactly pleased with it at the time, but now...
[He's utterly thankful that Lieral was their ally, needless to say.]
no subject
Heck, she'd change her tune, too, if it were her.]
Does . . . that kind of power work on anyone?
no subject
It's easy, sometimes, to forget that resurrection wasn't as simple restoring life without any other consequences—but that isn't reality.
He is, above all, grateful to have Ene back, but it's not like life returned to the way it was.
He smiles sadly.]
I don't know. Perhaps it would... but it's not as if it could happen a second time. A power like that doesn't come without a price.
no subject
What was she thinking? It'll never be that easy.]
What happened to him?
no subject
To restore her life... he gave up his own. He died to bring her back.
[And so, Tiir owes a debt that he can never repay.]
no subject
It didn't feel right. But she is reminded, and she remembers.
Then finally:]
I can't . . . imagine she was too happy about that.
no subject
To be honest, Tiir really doesn't like thinking about it at all, and prefers to deal with it with a 'if it's relevant, I'll talk about it' mindset, but, well... it's relevant now, isn't it?]
She doesn't know. [...] Well, she had the ability to see the future, and Ryner did tell me that she foresaw her own death, so she might've known, but...
[It doesn't matter anymore.]
no subject
Yukari won't ask him to continue, but she does think about it. She wonders, but leaves it at that; considering if it were her in his position, she probably would've already walked away.
Or tried to.]
Hmm . . .
It's all the past now, right?
